It’s the year to change the pre-set buttons in your consciousness

“Do a loony-goony dance
’
Cross the kitchen floor.

Put something silly in the world.

That ain’t been there before.”—Shel Silverstein

Car radios have buttons to pre-set favorite stations, making it easy to find, say KKFI and KPRS. Our minds work the same way. We program in certain “experiences” on our pre-set buttons and then we forget (or don’t allow) anything else.

But just so you know. THERE. IS. SO. MUCH. MORE.

I loved this story that came in this morning. And, yes, it falls into the SO.MUCH.MORE category.

A woman in Norway was doing The Dude Abides experiment from E-Squared, the one where you ask for a sign from the higher intelligence. Here’s her story:

“When I decorated the Xmas tree this year I noticed that the star on top no longer worked to my disappointment. In Norway we have a Xmas song where one of the lines goes like this: “And high in the top of the tree the shining star, that shines to remind us of our God” But my star did not shine this year.

“Then I did the first exercise and said, “Ok God, send me a sign or a blessing within the next 48 hours. And I started looking everywhere for a sign, I walked into traffic signposts and walls because I was looking after a sign.

“When it was only two hours left of the 48 hours, I sat on my sofa and thought that it did not work, I had not seen any signs, but then it happened- the star in top of my tree suddenly started shining (the light suddenly started working) and I almost fell off my sofa.

“All the Xmas without the shining star, and then on the day I was going to pack away the tree, (and with two hours left of the experiment) it started to shine.”

Needless to say, she left the tree (with the shining star) up for a couple more days.

So, even though most of us have pre-set the button that says, “things that are broken are broken forever,” she found a whole different radio station with a whole different song.

Why I’m getting naked about my desires

“Become committed—fully committed—to the experience of happiness.”—The Way of Mastery

I just created an LOA quiz for Good Vibe University. It’s a simple, four-part quiz to determine how adept you are at employing the law of attraction.

Jeannette Maw, the totally hip “school marm” who hosts this powerful law of attraction site, and I will be partying on the 19th so take the quiz beforehand (it’s sort of a no-brainer) and join us as we talk about the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge and why doing this with others is so much more fun.

In the meantime, I want to talk about innocence and vulnerability and one of the sidewalk cracks we stumble over when claiming the largesse of the universe.

I call it a sidewalk crack because it’s very subtle. There’s an underlying belief that we shouldn’t admit we want riches, joyous relationships, rewarding work. What if people think we’re selfish? What if we piss God off?

So we’re in conflict. We have desires, but we don’t want to admit them. We pinch them off. We hide them under the bed. Desire, after all, is a blot on the spiritual path. Isn’t it?

But what if desire IS the spiritual path, what if it’s the animating force that propels us forward, that effects beautiful transformation on the planet?

What if desire is actually God in action? And by suppressing our desires, we’re actually crippling God.

So I’d like to suggest that we surrender to the creative force that wells within us and begin to view our desires as wholly innocent, wholly pure, wholly….holy.

So yes, it might be scary to post your highest intention in the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge. It might be intimidating to admit you desire material comfort and creative expression and unending love. But if we don’t all come out of the closet about our desires, we risk thwarting the full potential of the universe, of God.

I’m read to undress. How about you?

Why upgrading your beliefs and expectations will create an exciting new story in 2015

“If we do not change what we believe, we will create in 2015 the same thing we’ve created in 2014….2013, 2012….”—David Moser

Whatever your dream is for 2015, there’s only one way to reach it.

You’ve got to change your beliefs and expectations. About what’s possible. About the way the world works.

Whether you want more money, a loving relationship, or a new and exciting career, you’ve got to upgrade your views. You’ve got to create a new vision and begin to believe more in the new vision than in “what is.”

Focusing on “what is” only slows the process down.

Anything is possible. But you’ve got to elevate your beliefs and expectations. And to remember these 11 words: The universe has your back and everything’s going to be okay.

Don’t forget to show us your selfie (and your new vision) in the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge.

Pam Grout is the author of 17 books including E-Squared: 9 Do-it-Yourself Energy Experiments that Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality and the just-released sequel, E-Cubed, 9 More Experiments that Prove Mirth, Magic and Merriment is your Full-time Gig.

What’s in your selfie? Or why you should always hold a luminous vision for your life

“Stay free inside the game. Find the glory inside yourself so you can dance with a little more abandon, with a little more shaking of those hips.”—Billy Fingers

So here’s the thing that nobody explains very well. Life, this seemingly mysterious force, conforms around our beliefs and expectations.

Our thoughts, judgments and opinions literally sculpt the material reality we call our life.

The ONLY reason we see the same ole’ thing as yesterday is because we get up every morning and renew our relationship with the same old beliefs and expectations. But it’s only one story in a palette of infinite possibilities.

We can rewrite the story, choose a different color from the palette at any time…which is why having a dazzling vision for yourself can propel you into a new 2015.

Selfies, albeit a transitory fad, can be a tool for envisioning a new you.

So even if you don’t win one of the prizes in the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge**, you’ll propel yourself into a whole new story, one guaranteed to have a happy ending.

Hope you will encourage all your friends (forward, reblog, post on Facebook or Twitter) to join you in this exciting new world we’re creating.

Keep the selfies coming.

Here’s a fun one from Chris Spicer: 10885434_10203520388546571_1430725660603654987_n

Chris’ selfie vision? “I am the guardian of a major fortune, we’re talking 100s of millions of dollars, where I invest the funds and then release the earnings to worthy non-profits all over the world. That’s not all, I’m on a permanent road-trip, where I personally interview non-profit teams to learn where the challenges and inefficiencies lie, so I can connect them with whomever or whatever will fill the gap, thus empowering non-profits to achieve an even bigger impact.”

Let’s hear it for Chris! Let’s hear it for all our visions, now coming into fruition just like our selfies.

** Prizes (25 in total) will be rewarded to the most creative selfies, to the selfies that first duplicate themselves in reality and to the selfie with the biggest and highest vision for world change.

What’s your biggest, baddest, boldest vision for 2015? #E3 Selfie Challenge

“What you believe to be possible will always come to pass – to the extent that you deem it possible. It really is as simple as that.” ― Anthon St. Maarten10865791_10204553979061768_1480909559492752099_o

So excited by all the E3 Selfies being posted to my Facebook page. I’m seeing everything from exciting new relationships to bestselling books to a green smoothie delivery business.

Here’s why this fun process is so powerful. When you focus on what you desire and only on what you desire, the universe figures out a way to make it come true. When you create a vision (like an E3 Selfie), you’ve started the ball rolling for its easy manifestation.

Our job as quantum effects animators has one simple step: Focus on what we want.

Notice our job DOES NOT include plans for HOW we’re going to get it, WHEN it’s going to come, or WHERE we’ll find it.

How, when and where are completely irrelevant.

Instead envision “the WHAT”—the end result. By starting at the end (the fruition of your dreams) and letting go, the universe can work its blessed magic. It really is that simple.

For those who missed it, here’s the post again about the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge.

“The rich substance of the universe is yours to do with as you wish.”—Catherine Ponder

Fans of E-Squared and E-Cubed know they draw into their lives whatever they focus upon. They know that by simply setting an intention and visualizing themselves doing, being or having something, that reality (one of many in the quantum playground) becomes animated in their life. That’s where the now-ubiquitous selfie comes in.

Simply snap a selfie of yourself (and a “bookie” of E-Cubed***) with whatever you want to manifest. Maybe it’s standing in front of your dream house or test driving a new Lamborghini. The bigger and more exciting your dream (Keep in mind Martin Luther King Jr. didn’t say “I have a goal.”), the better your chances of winning cool prizes.

Did someone say prizes? By tagging your E3 selfies to Pam Grout’s fan page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pam-Grout/108764901734), you’ll be entered to win all sorts of free prizes from tickets to Hay House’s 2015 I Can Do It! conferences to an all-expenses paid travel gig with Pam Grout.

There’s more. Wait for it!!! Perhaps the best prize are the 20 DonorsChoose gift cards that will be given out to support your favorite charity. It’s one thing to manifest a pair of diamond earrings, something several readers of E-Squared reported, but whilst tuning in to this happy, abundant frequency, it’s also possible to make the world a better place. The E3 Selfie Challenge will do just that.

My friend, author and conscious comedian Stevie Anne Petitt, for example, wants an international presence that is well-received by the masses. She wants her book, “Egos are Like Farts” to make the big-time (Ellen, are you listening?) and she wants the world to lighten up. That’s her selfie at the top of this post.

My friend Rhonda (isn’t she gorgeous?) wants to meet Louise Hay.

Here are the top five reasons to enter the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge:

1. You’ll master a fast and easy way to make your dreams come true.

2. You+your dreams=Fun, fun, fun.

3. You might win a pair of tickets to one of four Hay House I Can Do It! conferences.

4. You might win a cruise to Alaska with yours truly. Proceeds from this cruise go to help Perspectives, an award-winning human services agency in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

5. You might win one of 20 DonorChoose gift cards.

5. You’re guaranteed to win something. While there are only 25 official prizes, everybody wins in the long run. When you create a new vision for yourself, the universe takes notice and begins to line up the necessary conditions for that vision to take form. Remember we animate into our lives whatever we place our attention upon.

And to close, here’s my selfie: My vision is to see my TV series, Off the Grid (In case, you can’t tell, that’s me at a self-sustaining ecovillage) produced. Heck, I also envision it winning a Golden Globe.

Another one of my intentions is to watch this CONTEST GO VIRAL. Help me out by forwarding this link to all your friends.

22 reasons to be of good cheer

“What worn-out shticks are blinding you to the blessings that life is conspiring to give you?”–Rob Brezsny

Twice now, People magazine has sent me out to interview a Kansas City Secret Santa who passes out $100 bills. It was a hoot and a half to join him, to see the expression on people’s faces when he’d peal a couple hundys off his stack and hand them over.

So in the interest of continuing my long-standing journalism career, here are 21 additional reasons to be of good cheer this holiday season:

1. A mystery woman walked into a Toys R Us in Bellingham, Massachussetts and paid off the entire store’s layaway balance, allowing strapped parents to pick up Christmas gifts for their kids.

2. Gas prices have dropped below $2 just in time for holiday visits to family.

3. The gorgeous beaches of Cuba are about to reopen to vacationing Americans.

4. Oakland Raider’s tackle Menelik Watson just donated a week of his salary ($37,000) to Ava Urrea, a four-year-old girl who has had 14 heart surgeries.

5. Natalie DuBose, whose Ferguson, Missouri bakery was vandalized during the protests, received more than $250,000 in donations from total strangers.

6. The curve is bending on new cases of HIV. More people are being treated than becoming infected.

7. Enough said. This note was left on a car in Edmonton, Canada.

8. Gay marriage is now legal in 35 of 50 U.S. states.

9. An Ohio high school student took his 89-year-old great grandmother to prom because she’d never been.

10. A cop in Montreal has been stopping drivers and, instead of passing out tickets, is passing out $100 bills.

11. Global life expectancy has risen by six years since 1990.

12. Nearly 200 countries signed a bill to reduce the use of foreign fossil fuels.

13. A Dallas woman has donated more than 15,0000 house cleanings for people going through chemo.

14. A 12-year-old from San Jose, California, built a Braille printer (it’s called a BRAIGO) out of LEGO Mindstorms (it’s the souped up version) that lowers the going $2000 price to an affordable $350. He even offers open source plans online for free.

15. A police captain in Omaha, Nebraska organized a Valentine’s card campaign for her sergeant who remarked that he’d never received a Valentine’s card as a kid. He got hundreds from people all over the country.

16. A former professional ballet dancer developed a dancing wheelchair so all of us can dance.

17. My buddy Nick Ortner has been donating free tapping instruction in Rwanda. There’s even a movie about this inspiring project that you can watch for free (if you do it in the next two days)

18. Michelle Obama has volunteered the last four years to take calls for NORAD’s Santa hotline.

19. A New York City software engineer gave coding lessons to a homeless man. He offered him either $100 or two months of coding lessons. After just three and a half months, his homeless protégé developed Trees for Cars, a smartphone app that helps commuters organize carpools.

20. Scientists dated a bristlecone pine tree in California’s White Mountains as the world’s longest-living organism. It’s more than 5000 years old, older than the pyramids

21. And the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge is coming up next week with lots of great prizes including a pair of tickets to all four North American I Can Do It’s and a cruise to Alaska with yours truly.

Have a fabulous holiday season, my friends!!

What badass reality might be available if you let go of your treasured, but teeny-tiny vantage point?

Anything that does not bring you alive is too small for you.” — David Whyte

Unlike the intentions of many LOA aficionados who are envisioning new jobs or new cars or new significant others to snuggle with on the couch, most of my intentions revolve around ideas—beauty and joy, things I want to see happen in the world at large.

At the risk of sounding like a beauty contestant who gushes to the pageant emcee that she only wants “world peace,” I’ll go ahead and stand here, naked on the stage, and admit that my highest intentions revolve around all of us finally getting it that we all really love each other and knowing that there’s a heck of a lot of support available (in many different dimensions) that we’ve blocked by our limited mental constructs.

Today, at my group, we talked about loved ones on the other side. And how ridiculous it is to believe they’re no longer with us. Because of our very stubborn belief that you have to have a body to communicate, we miss a lot of cool things these loved ones are trying to tell us. Let’s just say they have a much bigger perspective. They’ve escaped from the echo chamber of fear that we so often experience on the material plane.

Annola shared a story about her dad. When he wants to get through to her daughter, his granddaughter who was born the same week he passed, he turns her TV off. I suppose that could be annoying if you’re right in the middle of an episode of “Orange is the New Black.” But you gotta admit, it’s hard to ignore him that way.

Cindy shared a story about her brother who died young and way before the average. She said it took her awhile to open to his presence. She said her intense grief completely thwarted his efforts.

But finally, she tuned in and now gets regular guidance that, as often happens, is much clearer and more loving than the guidance we might get from a friend still viewing life from the tunnel vision of a body.

She said to him one day, “Ya know, it would be a lot easier if you could figure out a clear way to make your presence known—like how about using electronics?”

A couple days later, she’s downstairs, folding laundry or something when booming music comes from upstairs. She’s irritated, wondering what her husband is doing. She meets him in the hallway and he’s also heading to the very LOUD music playing in the bathroom. Coming from a radio is an extremely loud rendition of one of her brother’s favorite songs.

The weirdest part is that radio—which they hadn’t used in years (it was shaped like a toy so they left it in the bathroom as a decoration)—had no batteries.

So I ask you? What’s a mental construct, that you’re completely sure is fact, that you’re now willing to throw overboard? Might open up a whole new conversation!!

Don’t know how to do or get something? Pretend that you do.

“The body appears to be largely self-motivated and independent, yet it actually responds only to the intentions of the mind.”—A Course in Miracles

I get a lot of emails that start with this phrase: You’re never going to believe this.

Since I experience what some call “weird and miraculous things” on a daily basis, I always believe it. In fact, if you’ve read E-Cubed, you know I wrote a whole chapter about “weird and miraculous things.” It’s called “Well, Duh!”

Yesterday, when being interviewed for an article about visualization for the magazine, Fast Company, the reporter asked me what I say to skeptics. As she pointed out, the majority of her readers fall squarely into that disbelievers category.

While I didn’t say this, I immediately thought of a line Anita Moorjani told me in London. ”Every time I hear that not everybody buys this stuff, I almost fall off my unicorn.”

Well, the story I was sent this morning falls into the unicorn category. Especially if you’re one of those people who believe your limited physical body is all there is.

With no further adieu, here’s the story from Pam Matera (doesn’t she have a cool first name?) who was doing the 101 Dalmations Experiment from E-Squared:

Several years ago I was in a relationship with Ted, a musician. We lived in Sarasota Florida. A friend of his, Benji, also a musician, would come and visit us. I enjoyed his visits, always full of energy and life, and we liked the same books. We would stay up all night talking.

One of the books he recommended was Blink by Malcom Gladwell. I read it and loved it. Ted and I broke up, and I never saw Benji again.

I knew Benji was the perfect person to communicate with for the experiment. I very much wanted to hear from him. So all day I remembered his visits, and the fun we had. I couldn’t wait to hear from him! I told a friend about the experiment, and she was excited to hear about my results.

I decided to Google him (Benji was a keyboard player for a popular band in the eighties) so I knew I would find pictures of him. I thought that would help me manifest contact. Well, imagine how sad I was to find out he had died two years ago. It was shocking to me. I told my friend, and she said that was the end of the experiment. I thought about that and decided to keep an open mind and heart, and the universe would hear me.

The following Monday I was at jury duty, in a room with many strangers in an assigned seat, bored out of my head. For some reason I had to know what the man next to me was reading. It was Blink by Malcom Gladwell. The book Beni told me to read. It gave me goosebumps!

Then on the way home, the host on a talk radio program announced he was going to play an interview with someone, and the person being interviewed was Malcom Gladwell. Wow, twice in one day. Then I told my friend what happened she couldn’t believe it. She called me later that day and asked if I was sitting down. Her a/c was on the fritz, so she was looking for the paperwork for her a/c system in a kitchen drawer, and what do you think she found? A copy of Blink by, you guessed it! She had never heard of the book, and had no idea how it got there.

And lastly, my friends, I’ll repeat what I often suggest on Friday: Decide to have the best weekend of your life.

Newsflash: You’re already in possession of the best Christmas (or Hanukkah) present. You just need to turn it on.

“When you’re looking so hard to get on your path, you’re putting up resistance that keeps you from finding it.”—Esther Hicks

We’ve all read the books, heard the speakers, know the spiel. But how many of us actually use the unseen presence that fills all space, that animates all life, that constantly attempts to bestow joy and light.

Most of us thwart the Great Spirit (that’s what Native Americans call it, but there are at least 89 synonyms) by relying on feeble human effort.

We think we have to perform or meet some standard or jump through hoops to please this Spirit.

But here’s the thing we forget. It’s already ours. We don’t have to earn it.

It’s a gift we already have and nothing can ever change that. Nothing can ever take it away. No matter what we do.

Once we shed our outdated mental constructs, we can receive it fully, we can utilize its power.

All we have to do is enter into that expectation of light. Be still. Listen. Feel the love.

There’s a difference between potential energy and kinetic energy. Potential energy exists everywhere. It fills all space. That’s the gift. That’s your inheritance.

Kinetic energy, on the other hand, is able to light fires, pulsate beauty and goodness. Change the world.

And it can be easily accessed once you give up your old ideas and make a decision to let this Spirit have its way with you. You don’t have to do a damn thing. Except listen and let go.
