My magical Taz: snapshots of a life of incomparable goodness, grace and gusto

‘There are certain things that happen to you as a human being that you cannot control or command, where you have to bow in the human humility that there’s something running through you that’s bigger than you.”—Elizabeth Gilbert

As many of you have pointed out, there really are no words. My beautiful daughter, Tasman McKay Grout, was epic. This photo essay is my way of celebrating her extraordinary life.

The dazzling Tasman Grout

taz1 (2)

We first met on October 8, 1993. I was so smitten with this beautiful soul that I refused to let her out of my sight. Whisk her off to the nursery? No way.

taz6 (2)She was and always will be my brown-eyed girl.

taz5 (2)

With her best grade school friends from the hood.

taz3 (2)

I was never a prim and proper mother. Luckily, she didn’t much care.

taz8 (2)

Instead, we spent lots of time outdoors. In fact, the best parenting advice I ever heard was, “Don’t try to get her to hurry up and move at adult speed. Better to slow down and see the world through her innocent childlike eyes.”

taz2 (2)

Here she is with my mom who died 9 days earlier. We had just returned from mom’s memorial when Taz had her unexpected aneurysm.

tazseaShe was named for the Tasman Sea.  Her bio dad is from New Zealand and I got my master’s degree in Sydney, Australia.  She finally met the Tasman Sea in February 2017. She even did a solo five-day hike around the Abel Tasman Coastal Track.

She was quietly fearless and had a heart bigger than the sea for which she was named.

She has the coolest friends.

Who do the coolest things.

Once, she and her friend Marina posted an ad on Craigslist offering themselves up as superheroes willing to perform good deeds. For free. The only person who responded was the local newspaper wanting to write a story about the mysterious do-gooders.

These are some of her friends from college who have all sent me the nicest notes about how much Taz meant to them and how much she changed their lives for the better.

She graduated from Grinnell College with honors in May of 2016 with a degree in anthropology and Spanish.

Another friend commented that Taz always reminded her of the importance of not taking life too seriously. One of the best compliments she ever gave me was “Thanks, mom, for teaching me that you’re never too old to play.”

After college, she headed to Spain. Yes, she’s definitely her mother’s daughter. In her short 25 years, she traveled to more than 30 countries.

In Morocco.

In her beloved Barcelona

Children adored Taz.  Something about her drew them in. While in Barcelona, she was an au pair for these darling twins.

When she finally returned home after a year of wild wandering, she worked with the Spanish-speaking families of Douglas County for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. And because she definitely smoked what she sold, she became a big sister, as well, to Citlali, the girl with the cat ears on the right.

taz horse pyramid

Because I am such a proud momma, I literally have 38 (and I’m not exaggerating) photo albums of this gorgeous girl. But I’ll stop with the following photos of our travels around the globe.

costa surf

I wrote about our Costa Rica surf lessons with Jesus from Venezuela in my book, Thank & Grow Rich.

peru guinea class

One summer, when Taz was still in high school, we lived with a family high in the mountains of Ecuador, allegedly to teach Spanish lessons. Taz, who is fluent, actually performed her duties. I, who am not, mostly played street soccer with our charges. Here, we’re at an Ecudorian cooking class.

In New Zealand.

In Stockholm.

We walked the Cotswold Trail from Stratford-on-Avon to Bath, England the summer before last.

Our trip to Egypt was life-changing. We’ve also traveled together to Cuba, Peru, Europe and many Caribbean islands.

tazarmand And while we usually went casual, she could be quite glamorous when she wanted to be.

Her life was far too short. But the incandescent flame that is Tasman McKay Grout will shine forever, sparkling and inspiring us all to live and love better.

Cyber love and hugs , prayers lifted high …. speechless sorrow

    2. I just want to say that I accidentally (where is my tech guru Taz when I need her?) posted this before it was finished. So for those who got it in their inbox, please re-read now that it’s edited and has official captions.

      1. it’s good to reread it because I thought that the picture which you said that she could be glamorous, I thought that was a picture with her boyfriend. And if he wasn’t, well he was a lucky guy to standing next to such a gorgeous woman just like her mother.

      2. Where is she? Right beside you blasting you with love. You started me on this journey and now I KNOW this is true!! My heart is with you now Pam in this trying time. Thank you for posting her pictures for us. Her light shines in all of them! Thank you for sharing these with us.

  4. 5 Years ago your book and words changed my life. I have come to know so much of what the universe has for us in every day that we are gifted. Last week your words changed my life again…the devasting words that you shared at your loss has carried with me and I feel extreme sorrow for you. But with your share of those words…you have made me hug harder, love harder, and appreciate more and it squelched the complacency that I have been falling prey to lately. I will trust the universe and appreciate the gifts.

So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent.

  26. Dear Pam,
I keep thinking that Taz lived so many life times, through her thousands of adventures. Having you, one of the coolest moms on the planet gave her that opportunity. I realize, as a mother, this has nothing to do with the unmeasured grief you are feeling. It does however, accompany my heart when I think of the two of you making your way together across this amazing planet.

  32. Dazzling, yes. I don’t know why I can’t stop crying whenever I think about what I’m trying not to call “your loss”. Trying not to judge, because: Nothing is ever good or bad until we judge it to be so. But. Damn. Love to you, Pam.

  33. You both were so blessed to have each other.. I believe you still do.. Then, now, always. Big hug with much love & comfort.

  34. Sending you and your family love and peace. I can not understand your feelings right now. But I wish you strength.

  35. Hay 🐂 there Pam – There are certain things that happen to us that we cannot control. I mourn for your loss. Although I hardly know you, I have seen your beautiful light, and pictures of Taz show her to be a stunningly beautiful and loving child of the Universe. My heart goes out to you. If there is anything I can do for you, I humbly offer whatever I can do…..xoxox love. Katie

How do we nurture our souls?

By revering our own life. By reaching for the best within ourselves. By taking chances and stretching our boundaries. By leaping into the unknown. By going places we’ve never been. By having faith and staring down our fears. By embracing our uniqueness. By doing things for the fun of it. By slowing down, so the important things can catch up. By appreciating each day, moment by moment.By learning to live it all, not only the joys and triumphs, but the pain and struggle. By giving more than we can take. By being there for others. By making a difference. When we are living a life we love, whether it be good or difficult times, our souls are singing and dancing. ” – Kobi Yamada

  45. Dear Pam: I am so very sorry to hear the news of the passing of your beautiful daughter. My heart is with you, dear friend.

Know that I surround you in love and blessings of comfort and strength.

May you be filled with the deep peace of the Presence, Pam.

  46. Thank you for taking the time to share these beautiful pictures. What a lovely person. She has brought great love into the world just like her mother.

  47. I don’t know you personally Pam. I don’t know your daughter. I only know who you are through emails and books. You inspire me and I find your writings humorous and interesting. I have a couple of your books and I read them and try to follow every now and again. I get pleasure and joy from your high spirited words and that’s where it ends.
But this…. this is just unimaginable … yet it has made you a real person and I feel your terrible pain and I feel your struggle to keep trying to stay upbeat and trust in the big guy. How can you how can any of us but you can and you will. You will have dark days of anger and grief and you will have days of light and love filled memories.
My daughter is a year younger than Taz I can’t begin to imagine how it feels for you right now.
We are all here for you Pam and this terrible tragedy has given you wings that you have yet to notice and unfold. But you will .
My sincerest live and blessings to you.

  48. I am sorry for your loss. Big silent hug for you and your family. Jules in Oz xxxooo

  58. Dear Pam. Your Spirit inspires me and my friends who have read your books. Here is a poem I wrote years ago when one of my favorite law clients passed away. Words don’t cut it at all…..but maybe the feeling and love that they “emote” do a bit. It is called:
    Each Life
That each life is a Jewel,
Which in some unique way has shined.
And, in it’s shining has blessed others and the very World itself.
That each life has an appointed divine purpose and expression.
That each life is a full embrace of essence and expression,
Which we are all very lucky and fortunate to have been blessed in knowing.
    Each Jeweled Life is forever.
Each life somehow touches us from that eternal place.
If we just open our hearts…
We’ll feel a glimpse of that Spirit of Eternity.
Eternity’s Jewel is everywhere to be seen, felt, and
    It is.
    Feel it now.
    Feel it for eternity.

  60. You and I shared lunch a few years ago. I have daughters too. Yours is so fine. My heart aches as I send you my love.

  61. May love sustain you. So many of us have felt the impact of your words, may you now know and feel the impact of love being returned to you. May it surround you palpably and help you heal.

  62. Pam:

Absolutely beautiful. All of them. And your love 💕 for her, immeasurable. I love you. 😘

  63. Thank you so much for sharing your darling daughter and your lovely mother with us who are grieving with you. I hang on your every post. Clearly Taz has a beautiful purpose and there is no need for us to believe in death. I know she goes on, as you do, and your mother does, too. I hope you have heard from each of them-we know you can. To lose the bodily presence of these two women almost at the same time is stunning. I am praying that all you have taught us and shared from your beautiful soul will return a thousand fold to comfort you. Every one of us LOVE you and Taz and your mother-we, your Mighty Companions and the Comforter will never leave you alone, and this we are promised. Fall into the arms of Love, Pam, the might arms will hold you.

  64. I was on the BBBS board until a few months ago. Tax was the hardest worker with the biggest smile and took it all in stride. She was a beautiful sole. She will be missed. I am sorry that you lost your mother and Taz so close together. This is a marvelous tribute.

  65. Pam, I know that the thousands of people you have helped are sending their cumulative love through the universe to surround you and support you. I am one of them.

  66. Pam, thanks so much for sharing these beautiful pics of Taz. What a rich and incredible path she walked! No doubt she is a special soul, just as her mom. Hang in there, dear Pam, my thoughts and sympathies are with you and Taz. Big hug.

  67. Pam you have been on my mind since your first post about Taz. So happy for all your wonderful adventures together. She is beautiful. Thank you for sharing her love and energy. I hope the huge hole in your heart is filled with love from all of us faithful readers. Love you.

  68. Pam, it’s so fitting that the most epic daughter would be gifted to the most epic and loving mom❤️. You are true soul mates who’s love transcends time and space. You are in my thoughts and prayers daily. I feel your sadness in a big way, but I feel the overwhelming love in your heart way more. Love and peace to you, my friend.
    Big Love,

  69. Heartfelt prayers I send to you dear Pam. You are such a light in the world and it looks like you passed that light to your beautiful daughter. Peace be with you. So sorry for your loss.

  70. Taz’s light is blinding bright. My daughter recently introduced your wisdom and words to me. My heart breaks for you and celebrates the delightful soul you brought into this world. She is an amazing blessing.

  71. Pam,
Tasman is gorgeous, I can feel and see her bright spirit/light. Thank you for sharing these photos. I’ve been holding you in prayer constantly. You and Taz have been on my mind so much. I emailed you the car in front of me with the five 2’s!!!! I know that was Taz showing me she is still alive and well! I lost my son who was 3 weeks shy of 25 a few years ago. We were as close as could be and he was also a very bright light and touched so many souls. It seem these bright lights come in full of gusto and touch so many souls and then make an early exit. They show us all that there is no separation, no death. You now have a constant companion, an angel with you wherever you go. I know this to be true! Much love to you my dear friend. I am always here if you need to talk. Go slow and revel in gratitude (you are the expert here!) that you had this incredible soul in your life and now you will learn to develop a vibrational relationship with Taz that will be more REAL than you can imagine. I understand it is so hard to not have the physicality of Taz and my heart goes out to you. But new wonders are going to open up for you. xoxox

  72. I am so sorry for your grief, angst, hurt in this very sad time. All my good energy goes out to you. To hear that you were going through this, when you’ve helped me so much, breaks my heart. What a wonderful tribute to Taz. I believe she will help guide us all through you. Please know that I feel deeply for your loss.I don’t know if these are the right words, but I had to write something to you. Namaste

  73. Beautiful Pam, thanks for sharing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Strength is with you. You are LOVE who has also touched millions and continues !!

  74. Pam, we were all hoping for the best. Now we are all showering love on you. We are so sorry for your loss. Taz will always be with you now, and forever. God bless you for the work you do and the light you have shined down upon us.

  75. Dear Pam,

I opened your email newsletter, as I always do, looking forward to the inspiration and amazingly awesome vibe that I get from reading it – only to slowly understand that this was a post about your daughter’s passing. All of a sudden, I felt such a strong connection to you and a deep pain for your loss. I am a just a woman from a small town in Ohio, who loves your books, your newsletters, and all that you do to shine your light in the world. I’m sending you love and prayers and courage and strength. Thank you for sharing. You are rearranging the stars.

  76. Oh Pam, my heart exploded and sank, when I read your last post. Yes, I’ve read in a CIM that “I’m not a body, I am free, I’m still as God created me.” But I’m a mom too and I cry for you, missing your dear daughter. Oh Taz please now send some major unmistakable SIGNS to your dear mom Pam, that you are doing great, still around, having a blast with your grandmother and guides, finding the purpose for your apparent leaving us. Maybe you can coauthor a channelled book on travelling the spirit life, with your mom? Dear Pam, please know you are surrounded by love from your friends near and far. Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos of Taz, also. Take care. We care about you…

  77. Dear Pam, Thankyou for sharing such a delightful photographic snapshot of your gorgeous daughter’s life. I can see you in her, and her eyes are just beautiful. I’m sure you were both equally blessed by each other but I’m so sorry your time together was cut so short. We your followers are so lucky to have you inspiring us at this dreadfully sad and hard time for you, by your incredible example of strength, courage and grace at a time of huge grief. I am so grateful that you are inviting us into your world and sharing your precious memories of beautiful Taz with us. One day I hope I have the chance to give you a hug in person, but in the meantime I will hug you in my mind and send my love across the world to you via cyberspace. Blessings to you now and always from Jenny Louise

  78. So very sorry for your loss – she was a beautiful human and remains a beautiful spirit who will be with you always xxxx Sending Love to you and all who knew and loved Taz.

  87. When I shared this on Facebook, I said, “I like to think she belongs to all of us, our beautiful, beautiful girl.” I never had a child, so I hope you don’t mind if a make claim to Taz.

  89. Dear Pam,

I have been trying to respond to your last email since I received it. Not knowing what to say has kept me silent. As a mother myself, I have wept for you, trying to imagine what you’re going through. I’m so sorry.

What a life you exposed this beautiful girl to! It’s clear that you loved her well by the way you offered her endless opportunities to belly up to a never-ending buffet of beautiful and glorious experiences. And what a gift that you experienced them together! Yes, in these pictures her beauty and light shines through. Those gifts will live in all those she touched.

Your decision to share her life with others through organ donation is a beautiful tribute. I’m a living kidney donor and am grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of the miracle of organ donation.

You continue to be in my prayers. Let love surround and hold you.

  90. My dear, dear Pam: You know me, not in person but yes in spirit. I remember when I knitted two scarves, one for you, one for Taz. Since the day I received this terrible news, I’ve changed in a lot of ways (for good, I think) and I thank you again and I thank Taz for the privilege of feeling that I am your friend. My English is not enough to express my sorrow, I can’t even still believe what happened. I know God will bless you and I know you will hear from your beloved daughter. How? Don’t know, but I’m completely sure you will. You and I have kind of a spiritual connection and I haven’t even met you. So you WILL hear from dear Taz. My heart goes to you. You know how much I love you and your loss has affected me in so many ways. Again, God bless you.

  91. Dear Pam, I am so very sorry to hear about your daughter. Your books have transformed my life. By absorbing your words and following your ideas, my spirit has been set free. I wish I could give you back some of the enormous good you have given me. This will have to suffice: I send you all my love and support.

  92. I love this photo story. As you wrote, there are absolutely no words. Even fom such a tiny age these photis show the special light shining through Tas’s eyes. As they say “the apple does’t fall far from the tree”. My heart is full of love, support and healing for you. xo

  93. Dearest Pam,
I met you at Omega (where I told you & our group the story of the loss of my own daughter, and how she kept her promise to me of letting me know she is fine).
I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your daughter…..Although we know we are not bodies, it doesn’t change the felling of longing for just one more hug (or conversation in the physical, etc.).
Please know that I am with you in Spirit as you go through the many stages & emotions you may have.
    With so much Love,

  94. This is the unimaginable. I am so very sorry for your loss. When I opened your email this morning, I had to go back 3 times to grasp what I was reading. My thoughts, prayers and healing energy are sent to you. My Gods good grace lift you up and carry you during this sad time.

  95. Dearest Pam,
Thank you for sharing pictures of your beautiful daughter. What a gift you gave her, and what a gift she gave you! How blessed you both are. I know she is with you always.
    Much, much love,

  103. I’m so sorry . I’ve been following you for some time but I’ve been away for a most of October.. ?????????????????????????

    from Judy

  104. Wow. I felt the specialness in that, Pam. So did the entire Universe!

A beautiful Being; an eternal relationship that doesn’t stop here.

Looking forward to you sharing your albums of a different kind that the two of you will be co-creating together. I think the two of you are going to amaze us all.

There is great love for you here.

  105. What a beautiful soul to share your life with. Thank you for sharing this most difficult of losses with us and for the wisdom and understanding that love never dies. Take good care and know that so much love is sending your way.

  106. Pam, I wish I had known your daughter. From your descriptions of her, and these gorgeous pictures, all of us followers of yours can see that she was truly remarkable. She was and is a beauty, and clearly had an infectious zest for life, but more importantly, a light shines out of her eyes. That light will continue, even as she is lost to us in this life. What a gift she was to the universe!

  107. Pam, when the time is right I would LOVE to make a tote for you, from Taz’s clothes. Check out my website http://www.toteswithtales.com to see what I do. It might take you some time to part with her things, but whenever… weeks, months, years, I’m ready and oh so willing. Many people have told me they were sorry they hadn’t known what I do before they got rid of the clothes of their loved one. People make quilts and teddy bears, but I haven’t met anyone who makes totes. Custom made to your size etc. Belts could be handles, etc. Sneakers are on the bottom of a Zumba bag. My tagline is… carry your memories with you. I’ll keep writing you every so often to remind you of the offer as I’m imagining you are in a bit of a fog. Blessings dear Pam.

  108. My mother and I lost my sister aged 18 and it is a miracle we made it through. I pray angels appear in your life as they did mine. You are so very loved Pam, take care of your gentle soul right now. Xo

  109. Pam, pictures are great ! They are showing such a huge joy, love and goodness…Please, never give up believing, keep it alive

  110. Thank you for sharing your beautiful daughter with us. I am filled with both joy and sadness. She really lived a lifetime in her short years and I can’t imagine the loss you feel. You were blessed to have her but I am so very sorry she had to leave so soon, though I feel she will always be with you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  111. This year I have the incredible gift from my husband to meet you in Denver! I was also born in October 6 and send a lot of love for you and lights to you daughter. I’m from Brazil and my religion it’s spiritsm and we believe in an imortal spirit. Allan kardec.
God bless you I’m so sorry!!!

  112. It’s easy to see and feel through Taz’s photos the depth and beauty of her soul. I have no doubt that she was and still is a very big presence in your life. Sending love, peace and guidance to help to heal all hearts involved. ❤

  113. Remarkable in every way-beautiful Taz, her life story, the unbreakable bond between you, and your joint impact on the world. As she and your mother go to the light, you continue to carry the light here on earth. Much gratitude for you and your family.

  115. What a beautiful tribute for your sweet daughter. It brings anew my own loss of my son at 27. Blessings and love to you. She’ll be with you always.

  116. Oh my gosh! I am just catching up as I have been out of the loop and was in need of my Pam Grout fix. I am so very sorry….there are no words for this kind of a loss. My heart is broken for you and your family and friends who loved your sweet Daughter. Wishing you peace, love and light. Thank you for sharing this beautiful tribute.

  117. Thank you for sharing these pictures of Taz.
I wish you love and light and I will support you with my heart in this difficult moment.
    Elizabeth (from Paris)

  118. I feel so very heartbroken for you, I lost my teenage brother many years ago now and not a day goes by when I dont think of him. You and your beautiful daughter are in my thoughts. Sending you so much love X

  119. Pam, please find some comfort in knowing that your love and support and enlightment gave Taz the perfect environment to become the most beautiful version of herself possible. And because of that, she was able to touch so many lives and share her light. I know you will miss your adventures with her here in this dimension, but she will never be far from you.

  120. Pam, your light has changed the lives of many. Know that those whom you have lifted up are here and with you in light and love. May the wonderful memories of your daughter fill your heart so that emptiness cannot abide there.

  121. You gave it your all and that’s quite a lot since you have more than most of us to offer a child. We share your heartbreak and loss of the beautiful Taz. I have been a reader and follower who so wished your premise was true but continue to doubt that we can shut out the pain in the world and be free spirits.
You practice what you preach and raised Taz to love life and live it to the fullest. She was a gift from God and while it’s wonderful you had her maybe it makes the pain all that greater to lose such a shining light. She was a lucky girl too – growing up with you and all the adventure you offered her. If only we could give our children what you gave to Taz.
Condolences too on the loss of your mother. Losing both in such a short span of time is overwhelming.

  122. Such a beautiful woman and daughter. You are Blessed to have each other and have traveled together so much. Seeing you surrounded in love and light. ❤️

  123. You and Tas are a great inspiration to all who know you. Thank you for your presence in my life and I feel so blessed to have known Tas even though it was short time. I shall forever be inspired by the way she lived her life and the way she loved and gave such sweet hugs.

  124. Dear Pam,
Your lovely daughter’s spirit shines throughout your photo tribute to her. Thank you for sharing with us—Tas’ spirit and sweet heart will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her.

  125. I am so sorry for your loss. There are no words…only tears. May your heart be wrapped in a cocoon of love.

  126. I’m just now reading about your daughter and I just can’t believe it. Listening to you talk about her in your books was inspiring … to hear your love for her in your words. I am so sorry for your loss, Pam! What beautiful photos you posted that really express her light! Blessings for peace 🙏

  127. Pam…
I, as I’m sure most of your readers, feel the same I’m sure when we say, we feel like we’re part of your life, a friend perhaps, but definitely a kindred spirit. When I finally clicked on your blog that I had saved for weeks, I could hardly believe what I was reading. The tears welled up and my heart was immediately heavy with grief. It was “your” grief, a grief I could only imagine if I were to have to say goodbye to one of my own children. I am so sorry you had to say goodbye to both your mother and your beloved Taz in just a weeks time. I know that after all of the “dust” settles and the silence, the deafening silence comes knocking at your door, just know with every part of your being, they are each at one side of you, holding you, comforting you and loving you with a love we can only imagine and sadly can’t comprehend. And don’t forget just how much we love you…with every part of our being!! 🌠🌠💜💜

  128. Sooo wonderful …. what a way to have a life (however short) be well lived. Bless you for sharing her & this tribute…. Hugs & Blessings

  129. A friend of mine shared something from your book E Squared so i looked you up and found this. I just lost my daughter almost a year ago, 9/13/18. She was so much like your daughter. Loved to travel and lived life on her own terms. So sorry you are part of this club, but I can truthfully say I do know how you feel. Thank you for sharing your grief and your beautiful daughter!

    1. Thank you, sweet Jill! I guess you’re one month further on this journey. I hope our daughters our together. Thank you for writing and feel free to contact me on the contact form on my blog.

  130. This showed up today on Facebook. Seven years ago. As soon as I saw it, I thought of you and Taz. And that brought me to look at this page again. There’s a reason for everything and I had no idea 7 years ago that every time I see 222, I think of you and Taz. I really enjoyed seeing these pictures again today.

Wednesday was a 222 day for me. My friend and I skyped for 2 hours 22 minutes. Then I went for a walk and the application on my phone for walking measured me walking 2.22 miles. And I am reminded that there are no coincidences.

  131. What a lovely tribute to your beautiful daughter. Thank you for sharing a bit of her life with us. She was indeed a shining light.

  132. I discovered you from one of your books from the 90s. I am terribly sorry for your loss. Your daughter was beautiful inside and out and very like you. You’re an inspirational woman. I’ll continue reading your more recent work.

  133. She was an Angel who came here to spread Love & Light during her short stay.. Thank you for sharing about her with us. Such a pretty name for a beautiful heart and soul. You stay well and strong..you keep us inspired. ❤️🙏🏼☀️🌈🌷

  134. Hey Pam
I just wanted to tell you 2 things. the first is that last year I got an accident with my car after I went shopping at a Superstore, I was coming out of the parking lot slid on a patch of slippery snow and hit the curb of a sidewalk, broke the front right axle. I had it towed to a body shop where I bought my car and my boss told me to take the bus or taxi since I never took the bus I used a taxi, a coworker gave me a lift home, also my boss. When I finally talked to my insurance adjuster, I got a rental, when it was fixed a coworker told me that when the car is fixed the insurance stop paying fr the rental and I had to pay $1,000.00 and the insurance would pay the rest. another coworker told me to ask the big boss (the owner) and I told him about the accident and if I didn’t have 1,000.00 in my vacation pay if I could get a 1,500.00 to pay the rental he said he would talk to Shana (HR) and I the money in my vacation pay and would pay back 100.00 out of my pay. I put the money in my bank account and when I went to get my car, I told the manager of the body shop about me having to pay for the rental, he told me “I didn’t tell the insurance that it was fixed”. After I got my car keys and ask him where my car was, he said at the back in the front row. after I took the rental back the guy drove me back to the body shop and my car was parked right next to the door of the body shop. Before I talked to the insurance adjuster I read from your CIM experiment and in one chapter I read the one where I say “the universe has my back, everything is going to be OK there’s nothing to fear” when I got into my car there were 2 songs going through my head one was “not gonna not” and the other was “Who let the dogs out” during the rest of the day. as for the second thing last year I bought a desktop calendar that is a Happy Calendar with sayings every month on January, it said “And so the adventure begins” and in February it said “Believe in yourself” with the words Be and You were the same color but the other letter were in a different color. Sorry if it’s a bit long.

  135. I just came across your books today Pam, so I’ll be the 222th response: thanks for all the spirit Taz!
