“You have an option in every moment to look around and see survival or look around and see life. You’ll be right either way.”—Kerri Lake
Today is the day we here in America celebrate our freedom. I’m aware that some of us aren’t exactly feeling it, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to remind myself (and anyone who happens to read along) that true freedom lies, 100 percent of the time, in my mind.
No one can take that away. No one else can make me feel unsafe or less than. No one else can make me worry. And I remind myself that clarity never shows up in anger or distress and that my thoughts do not have the power to hold onto me. I’m the only one who can hold onto my thoughts.
So today I celebrate the liberty of letting my thoughts go and resting in peace, freedom and trust.
I also want to give you a head’s up that on September 18 (put this on your calendar now!!!), Karen Drucker, Greg Tamblyn and a bunch of other musicians are throwing a big benefit concert for the Taz Grout 222 Foundation that is actively working to change the consciousness of the planet. It’s Sunday afternoon at the Unity Temple in Kansas City. I’ll be saying a few words (although everyone who participated in the recent Magical Mystery Manifestation Adventure knows that nothing lifts your vibe like Karen’s music) and well, it’s going to be a rollicking good time. As I’ve been known to promise, “All Heaven is Going to Break Loose.”
Have a groovy 4th everyone. Make it the best one of your life. #222 Forever
“Finally, I saw that worrying had come to nothing. And I took my old body out into the morning to sing.”—Mary Oliver
Tech companies around the globe are vying for our attention. They know our collective attention is worth big bucks and they’re doing everything they can to capture it and hold it–the more minutes (hours, for some of us?) the better.
Not only is your attention a highly-prized resource, but you can use it to be of service to the world.
If you refuse to place your attention on all the “what if’s”, the “OMG’s”, the “everything is falling apart,” and simply focus on facts, you’re actually performing a public service.
Most people I know are focused on the emotions, the triggers, the ‘ain’t it awfuls,” By placing their valuable attention there, they create more fear and more negativity. Our attention is THAT powerful.
Here’s a tiny example of how we squander our precious attention:
Let’s say you lost your job. All you really know for sure (the one true fact) is there’s no longer a job in your immediate future. Why start adding a bunch of stories? Things like: What if I can’t find another one? The economy is crazy right now. What if I starve?
Our tendency is to embellish the only fact we know for sure (I lost my job) with all our “oh no’s,” our speculations, our suppositions.
Here’s where the public service comes in:
I lost my job.
Add nothing to this fact. Sit back. Relax. Wait to see what you’re guided to do next. It’s hard and counterintuitive, I know, but if you choose to put your attention on this clear non-emotional, not fraught frequency, you will be guided what to do next.
Life is always here to help us evolve spiritually. Our ONLY job is to refuse to interfere. I heard somebody describe it like this, “My job is to be the allower-in-chief.”
With all the potential emotional pitfalls happening now, I was guided to share this short factual message.
“You should seriously consider how serious you’ve become.”–Matt Cornwall
Ever since 1687 when that apple toppled onto crusty ole Isaac Newton’s head, we’ve known the impact of gravity on material objects.
But there’s another kind of gravity (the gravity that’s a synonym for seriousness) that also greatly impacts our lives.
Which is why I’m so excited to share the following words of wisdom from my new friend, Matt Cornwall, who has spent his life “proving” how the solemn kind of gravity binds and limits our imaginations.
As you’ve heard me swoon before, I deeply cherish all the emails that drop into my inbox every week.
This one from Matt was so compelling that I asked him if I could share it here on the blog. After all, it’s not every day you meet a guy who describes himself as a “cosmic switchboard operator on roller skates.”
His latest creative project started when his adorable grand-niece paid him what he considers “the greatest compliment ever.”
She asked, “Uncle Gum (as in Great Uncle Matt), how come you’re NEVER serious?”
Here’s how he answered:
“I believe seriousness is a disease or dis-ease. I’ve been an artist/writer/actor and overall creator and bringer of joy my whole life. After coming out of a five-year stint of completely unplugging from the world, I am called now to heed and heal the deafening collective wail.
“I’m currently allowing/developing a playshop tentatively called “Matt’s Multidimensional Playshop 5.w(0)w .
“It grew out of a Cosmic Coaching workshop where I was asked, “What do you think the world needs right now?
“Obviously, in addition to Jackie DeShannon’s timeless song “What the world needs now is love,” the world also needs fun and innocent play! Being serious is antithetical to the exuberantly playful nature of the universe.
“We are children of the universe, playing together on this beautiful little playground. We’re magical cosmic fairies, farting out realities left and right. We are pure consciousness manifesting into marvelous forms with which to experiment, have fun and play.
“I’m convinced that any form of suffering is the direct result of the dis-ease known as seriousness or being “grave”– the irony of this word speaks for itself.
“One of the projects I’m developing is called the C.S.D.C or The Center for Seriousness Disease Control and Prevention (modeled after the C.D.C) I see it as a viable national public (mental and therefore physical) health agency that uses humor to bring awareness to how ridiculous it is to be serious or attached to illusions of any sort.
“In this new agency, there will be “doctors” with new methods of testing how serious a patient is and new forms of medication — such as advanced laughter and a whole set of tools for letting go and not taking life so seriously.
“The C.S.D.C will create love, peace and bliss viruses or algorithms, reminding the masses that we have the power to create, re-invent or make up entirely new meaning.
“We are indeed fully equipped to infect ourselves with full-blown bliss. It’s a new kind of pure science and/or philosophical recreation center, basing its discovering around the metrics of attaining higher, deeper state of unadulterated, unconditioned bliss, fun and joy.”
Amen, Matt. And thank you for your contribution. I, for one, can’t wait. And with that I’ll close by seconding Matt’s motion: There is a whole spectrum of vibrant, playful possibilities. Seriousness, begone. #222 Forever!

“Thoughts that are oriented to the past and the future serve only to restrict and limit the amount of animating current that is available to vitalize your expression.”—Ken Carey
How many of you got up this morning and said, “well it’s time to start looking for my nose?” Not only would that be bat sh*#t crazy, it would be an utter waste of your precious time.
Yet, that’s what we do every moment when we worry, when we go out looking for answers and information to help us navigate our lives.
Everything we need to know and do is right here in this present moment. It’s the portal through which we escape the conceptual prison that keeps us stuck in the past, fretting about the future.
Lost as we are in the spinning commentary of our minds, we fail to notice the clear, specific information being supplied to us by an energetic flow of infinite knowledge. We can’t lose it any more than we can misplace our noses.
I recently read Michael Singer’s new book, Living Untethered. Over and over, he makes the point that our minds, oriented to interpret and make predictions based upon the past, are of absolutely no help on our spiritual journey.
Our minds, he says, might “know” what they experienced, but they have no clue what they didn’t experience. Basically, he says, the mind’s data is statistically insignificant — .00001 percent of what’s really going on. It’s a bunch of reactionary noise that doesn’t deserve the authority and credibility we give it.
Without my mind’s silly hold on reality, I notice these is a natural, simple unfolding to my life. I notice my breath, birds singing, laundry spinning, life emerging.
My main intention is not to interfere, not to energize thoughts of the past, fears for the future. To rest in the Divine Dance of immediacy. #222 Forever, my friends!

By Tracy Smith-Hodges
Like most folks in this country, I’ve been in what you might call a state of shock. I have absolutely no idea what to say, what to do. Some of the things happening right now make NO SENSE to me whatsoever. None.
War? Really? Gun fascination? Why? It just doesn’t compute in my way of understanding the world.
So the three words I’m concentrating on right now are “I don’t know.” All solutions that make sense to me have been discussed before. All “answers” that seem obvious to me have been bandied about for decades.
I do know that most proposals involve “bad guys” and resistance. And that “knowing” what needs to be done never works. It just animates into our world more “bad guys” and more resistance.
“I don’t know” doesn’t bind time to the past. It doesn’t confine imagination and opportunities and solutions that are trying to find us. Peace, kindness, love and abundance for all mankind already exists as one of the possibilities in the quantum field. It’s there. But as long as we stick with Newtonian equations (where we anticipate and predict certain outcomes), we’re stuck with what we know, with what seemed to make sense in the past. And as long as we cast blame on someone out there, we restrict what is possible.
By admitting “I don’t know,” I’m leaving room for a miracle. By giving thanks for the existing quantum possibility of peace, kindness, love and abundance for all, I’m drawing it into the world for me and for all with whom I’m holistically entangled (literally everybody and everything).
I heard a story yesterday that really spoke to me. A guy named Dan Stevenson who lives in the Eastlake neighborhood of Oakland was tired of the impromptu dump growing on the median across from his house. People were throwing away old mattresses, trash, junk they no longer needed. Signs warning of consequences for such actions did nothing to alleviate the problem. So Dan, who had no idea what to do, simply superglued a stone Buddha on the median.
Little by little, people started leaving candles instead of trash. A Vietnamese family ended up building an altar. That tiny act (where Dan didn’t know what to do) literally changed everything.
So I will repeat “I don’t know” and give thanks for the love, peace and light possibility that is every bit as valid of a possibility as the one most others are focused upon.
Have a beautiful day, my incredible friends. #222 Forever
“If you think bending spoons is cool, wait until you learn to bend your whole life.”—Martha Beck
Back in 1981, Bud Tribble, who at that time was a new hire at Apple, suggested that his boss possessed the superpower of creating “reality distortion fields.”
What he meant is that Steve Jobs could take what everyone else believed was utterly impossible and inspire his teams to do it anyway. Tribble said he got the term from an episode of Star Trek where aliens created new worlds using mental force.
What he didn’t bother to mention is that this same superpower is engrained in all of us. We all create our world, 100 percent of the time. Except instead of using our imaginations and going for what others believe is impossible, we get up each day and compress our world back into the mold we used yesterday. And the day before that.
The Course in Miracles says it like this: “I see only the past.”
Talk about a waste of a superpower. We could literally imagine into existence a more beautiful, just and compassionate world, one that works for everyone. The past story of scarcity and separation is getting creaky and old. All the forces trying to hold it in place are literally falling apart.
That’s why it’s the perfect time to use our superpowers of imagination, creativity and love. If we refuse to fall for the story that impossible things can’t be done, we can literally regenerate everything.
But we have to give up our training, our rules, our old, sad story. Each of us is a whirlpool of individual consciousness inside a vast universal consciousness. If we can give up the past, meet each moment anew and ask for help from what I often call The Divine Buzz, things that were once dubbed impossible can become “well, duh!” Here’s to regeneration, imagination and peace. #222 Forever

Tomorrow, in my playshop with Mike Dooley, I’m going to share “techniques” for widening one’s miracle bandwidth.
The term “technique” sounds rather didactic and I’ve never really felt like a “teacher” in any real definition of the word. If anything I’m just a regular Jane willing to experiment with my own life in public.
And I’ve learned from lots of personal experience that always, always, always the best technique for accomplishing anything is to manage my fear. To do whatever it takes to calm the nutty voice in my own head that constantly tells me that stepping into the unknown is unsafe. Whether that’s writing a book or hugging someone I’ve never met.
Our entire culture is predicated on avoiding the unknown, keeping us safe, convincing us to protect ourselves, to fit in, to march in line with the consumer system that tells us we need this product and that “technique.”
But like it or not, the unknown is where the magic happens. The unknown is where old, crusty beliefs are overridden by this more beautiful reality. And the unknown is scary.
My current “technique,” if you want to call it that, is getting up every morning and going outside, listening to the birds, making eye contact with my neighborhood fox. I go out there and feel this intense aliveness that, when you take the time to look, you notice permeates everything. I ask that life force to use me, to guide me, to show me what I need to do right now in this moment. Then, when the next moment comes, I ask again.
Maybe it’s a technique. But it feels more like surrender. Because I honestly don’t know.
Except that out there—in the real world, the alive world of nature–I feel connected with my daughter, with what some call angels, with this bigger thing that just keeps bombarding me with miracles.
To give you one small example, this Magical Mystery Adventure that I was invited to participate in with Mike Dooley has raised $22,200 for The Taz Grout 222 Foundation. And the logo that Mike’s amazing team created for the adventure happened to have a giant 222–which they didn’t even realize (they were going for 21 days, starting on the 21st, etc) until I pointed it out. Check it out below.
So I will continue to count my blessings, let go of what I was taught to believe and step out into the wildly mystical unknown. #222 Forever!
“My anthem is the feisty joy parade that goes from my heart to yours.”—Chelan Harkin
So in this video (that I’m going to try to add to the bottom of this post), Mike Dooley asked for my elevator speech.
I said something like, Gosh, “I guess I should write one” even though I know full well nobody can be contained within a label, a description or even an elevator speech.
But since he asked, I looked up the definition and discovered a good elevator speech explains what I’m up to, what project I’m working on, what comes next for me.
And even though my cultural programming instructs me to articulate something that sounds impressive and/or fulfilling, I concluded–upon a bit of inner reflection–that my only mission is to BE love. Right here. Right now.
I know. I know. It sounds flimsy and woo-woo and shouldn’t I have more goals?
But upon even more inner reflection, I concluded that “well, what else could I possibly want? What else beyond love would I ever want to experience or would I ever want anyone else to experience?”
So screw it! That’s my elevator speech. My mission is to overcome all limiting beliefs that would block this indwelling source of love. And to know that love is not something you find in people, places or things. It’s a life energy that dwells within, a powerful force that yearns to make its presence known.
All of us are inherently happy and worthy of love and acceptance. So my elevator pitch, if I ever get asked again, is: I, Pam Grout, am a love activist. #222 Forever.
“Walk so lightly, my darling. On tiptoes with no luggage, completely unencumbered.”– Aldous Huxley
If you’ve been here for awhile, at this celebration known colloquially as a blog, you know I live to share miracle stories.
To me, they’re the equivalent of the 4-minute mile. They demonstrate that “hey, maybe there IS another possibility.” Maybe all those rigid ideas and expectations that consume most of our waking energy aren’t rock solid truth.
Today’s miracle comes from one of my possibility posse mates. And I love it SO MUCH because she’s the one who instigated it. She’s the one who made it happen. I like that in a miracle.
You might have heard about the NCAA National Championships. The KU Jayhawks, 15 points down at the half, came back and captured the title. Retiring to the locker room at half time, Christian Braun asked David McCormack, “What are you smiling about? They’re killing us.” And McCormack says, “I don’t understand why you’re upset. We got this. We know how to do this. It’s our destiny.”
I don’t know for sure he used the word destiny, but you get the point. He refused to despair over “appearances.”
As did my miracle-inducing posse mate who joined 70,000 fans in gleeful celebration on Mass Street in Lawrence, Kansas. Considering our official population is 94K, this was what you might call a decent turnout. Everybody’s slapping hands and everybody loves everybody and well, it seemed more like life should always be.
But back to the miracle. Soon after arriving, Robbin noticed while swimming in that sea of humanity, she’d lost her friends and her phone. Most humans would have panicked at that point. But not Robbin. She just continued reveling in the exuberant party. She continued having a rip-roaring good time.
The Huxley quote above started by saying, “There are quicksands all about you, sucking at your feet, trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair. That’s why you must WALK LIGHTLY.”
Yes, I know life sometimes appears scary and worthy of despair, but it’s only because that’s what we’ve been mentally rehearsing. Quite actively rehearsing, I might add, for the past couple years.
But when you recognize, like Robbin did, like David McCormack did, that appearances are TEMPORARY and that a BUNCH of other possibilities are just as valid, just as likely, you can WALK LIGHTLY.
And, of course, you can guess what I’m about to say. Robbin found the friends, was reunited with her phone and everything turned out groovy keen.

This is the bingo card for the Magical Mystery Manifestation Adventure. And, yes, we plan to manifest all these things!!!
When I first wrote E-Squared, when it was still called God Doesn’t Have Bad Hair Days, I had never heard the term Law of Attraction. This was in the early 2000’s before The Secret had become a household word.
I was certainly practicing the Law of Attraction, because well, you can’t NOT practice it. It’d be like trying to defy gravity. I was just coming at it from a different metaphysical angle, using practices I’d learned from Unity. Potato-potatoh!
At all times, we emit an energetic vibration that affects what we pull in from the big cosmic energy field. It may appear that things “just happen,” but, in reality, we constantly attract — to use that terminology — experiences that match our energetic frequency.
That’s why it’s so important to practice gratitude, to focus on possibilities, to let go of old patterns and beliefs.
When you live on a frequency of trust, when you know that generosity, kindness and goodness is the state of the world, amazing things happen.
Essential to this state of grace is becoming willing to entertain the unknown. That’s not always comfortable–most of us prefer to repeat the past.
But once you really, really get it, when you figure out how much the universe desires to bless you, you begin attracting beautiful things, amazing people, oh-wow experiences.
And you really don’t have to do anything. This is the part that trips people up. Not do anything? But what about all those affirmations? What about my vision board?
Those things are all really fun. But the important component is always your invisible energetic frequency, your state of attraction, so to speak.
I’m at a point in my life and career where I just trust that cool things will come my way. Like I was just invited on a cruise to Portugal on some brand new ship that just debuted.
I don’t really plan these things, per se. I just trust that if my vibrational frequency is focused on gratitude, goodness and blessings, that’s what will show up. It’s classic Law of Attraction. Keep your vibration clear, loving and pure and voila! Awesome sh*t happens!
Recently, a fantastic opportunity landed on my doorstep with none other than The Universe itself. Or rather the guy — Mike Dooley — who writes the oh-so-inspiring Notes From the Universe.
He called, we brainstormed a bit and decided that it was time to offer something really exciting, really simple and really fundamental. Call it Law of Attraction 101. Call it Manifesting. Call it fun, fun, fun.
Together, we are offering a 21-day Magical, Mystical Manifestation Adventure. It’s a three-week experiment, I guess you could say, in recognizing how your vibration pulls various experiences into your sphere.
Loads of opportunities come my way, but this one was a hell yes! because A) we’re going to raise some money for the Taz Grout 222 Foundation and B) because, well, we could all use a little fun right now.
This Adventure, as Mike calls his programs, is light-hearted, joyful and designed to demonstrate that we all have reality-creating superpowers. I do hope you’ll join us. Find out more here. #222 Forever!!!
