A spiritual lesson I learned from Netflix

“The only thing you really want from life is to feel enthusiasm, joy and love. If you can feel that all the time, then who care what happens outside?”—Michael Singer, author of Untethered Soul

when you buy a book

Okay, sports fans. Another excerpt from the new book that comes out in August. I’m super excited and will make an announcement real soon. Blessings and joy to all.

If you have Netflix, you’ll notice a category called, “Because you watched…..” that lists all the movies or TV shows or documentaries that fall into the same genre. Netflix assumes you’d appreciate these offerings because well, they’re quite similar to options you chose earlier.

Likewise, Amazon recommends books and products that are related to items you’ve bought and even viewed in the past.

This is exactly how the universe works. It continuously sends people, ideas and events that mirror the frequency you emit, the channel you’ve chosen to speak for your life.

It doesn’t charge for these gifts that match what you’ve previously selected. But it also doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t judge or doubt that what you’ve chosen in the past is what you still want. It doesn’t think, “Well, her parents and her culture obviously had it wrong, so I’m going to send her different kind of stuff.”

No. It sends an exact match

So if you’ve tuned into lack, spent your life focusing on what might go wrong, that’s what the universe will happily continue to send.

But when you tune yourself into a new channel, start watching a different type of movie, a movie that brings you joy, you will get more people, ideas and events that mirror the upgraded frequency.

  1. Toooo ‘synchronistic.’ I had JUST left the Netflix site (which I hadn’t visited in weeks) to pick some upcoming movies – sign out there, go to mail and… well you know the rest. There you were – ‘A Spiritual Lesson I Learned from Netflix.’ LOVE those affirmations of being on track.;) Thank you, Pam!!

  2. Great post, Pam. That quote about buying a book can also apply to any creative endeavour. Even baking bread, mowing a lawn, or singing (someone else’s) songs take a creative effort involving hours, skills, determination, and love.

  3. Pam, I love your analogy! It’s so spot-on that I’m going to forward it to my teenaged daughter. (It’s always interesting to log into Netflix after she’s been on it… “Because I watched WHAT?” Yikes!)

Anyhow, I am always eager to read whatever you write. You remind me that because I expect life to be one exciting adventure after another, it is! Thanks!

  4. Yes, what a great way to make the analogy with Netflix and Amazon! I’ve never thought of it that way, but now I get it. That’s how the Universe works. Thank you, Pam, for such an enlightening post!

  5. Pam you are correct. This is exactly how the universe works !! Life is awesome when you figure out how it works !! Keep up the great work !!!!!!

  6. Thanks!

It doesn’t charge for these gifts that match what you’ve previously selected. But it also

  7. This is so true Pam, thank you for your post! I’m looking forward to your new book in August. Keep doing what you’re doing – you’re awesome!!

  8. What a delight to read this today. I love you bringing to our awareness how the Universe matches us up with people of the same frequency we are transmitting, just like Amazon and Netflix. Very cool analogy and so true. Like attracts like. It makes us mindful of our thoughts, our words, our feelings. Thanks, Pam for another fantastic lesson!

  9. Just want to say, ” I really love you,” because you uplift and give wonderful reminders of our true nature….

I’m sitting in a hotel room right now after a 4 year “I thought this was IT,” relationship has ended, a mature woman who would not have believed she’d also be in a call center after a wonderful but short career of stress management presentations and yoga teaching.

Currently, she can’t even afford nor have the credit fitness for her next place to live.

But because you remind us of how to REALLY walk in this world, I know how to go about the business of creating a new world for myself.

Your stories of how it started for you had a lot of echoes for me.

Thank you, Pam! Don’t stop inspiring like you do!

    1. Dear beautiful Megan, Yes, you are creating a new world for yourself. It will be even better than anything you feel you lost. It is happening. Now. Thank you so much for sharing.

    2. Wow, Megan! Take good care of yourself. Sounds tough, but you have the tools to make your life amazing again! Sounds like you are already on your way, with that great attitude.

    3. Megan you ARE going to find peace and much sooner than you think, well you are probably saying to yourself, “how do you know”. Well Megan as a matter of fact I do know, so just breathe in and feel that you Are alive and again and again…..

Looking so forward to the book!

    1. Thanks, Pamela! I almost feel that I know you from all your beautiful comments on the blog. I’m sure one day we’ll meet in the flesh.

      1. Oh yay! Of course, I almost feel like I know you, but I have much more to go on, from reading your books and blog. I do look forward to the day we meet in person. Since we have both put it out there to the F.P., It’s on it’s way! That will be a fine day, indeed! I know you love Colorado – keep in mind that I live outside of Durango!

  11. Awesome post, Pam! As always 😎 I was planning on getting your new book for my birthday in October and am even more excited that I will get an early birthday gift!! So glad you are coming back to Omega in June!! Yeeehaahhh!!

    1. Yes, ma’am. I haven’t checked but maybe it’ll even fall during a full moon. I know I still dance every full moon and I even put a dedication to our full moon dancing in my new book.

      1. If it falls during the full moon…that would bring even more meaning to the word AWESOME!! I love that you mentioned it in the book!!! I plan on dancing with you and our tribe well into the next life time!! I love you Pam…more than there are words for.

  12. Awesome post Pam! What a wonderful way to start my morning! The Amazon analogy is perfect and I can relate to it so well lol! I eagerly wait for your every blog post. Thank you for you books and the love that you share, you have made an awesome difference in my life.

    Love n blessings from India!

  13. So true, so true. Need to think about that some more. Put your last book with all my little sticky tags in it on my last post. Was hoping to make more aware of it. But that old saying “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear” applies to books too. Your books follow me home and bang into me until I read them and do the work. Thanks for them. I buy new to support writers. One day, it could be me. 🙂

  14. Great post Pam! I can relate to ‘buying more than a story’. For me it was an emotional roller coaster riding the on the high of joy to a sheer drop of despair with unexpected twists and turns along the way but “What a ride!”. I just launched my book last week and it made Amazon’s Bestsellers!

I can’t wait until your new book comes out!
