Make way for miracles

“Hold your own victory parades, award your own medals of honor.”—James Hillman

My dear friend Diane (who also submitted one of the all-time best selfies during the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge**) sent an email yesterday inquiring where I’ve been.

So, Diane, the answer which I’ll share with you and everyone else who hangs out at this party known as a blog, is I’ve been traveling.

I’ve been in the U.K. with my sister experiencing miracle after miracle after miracle. The Course tells us that if miracles aren’t happening on the daily something has gone wrong. Our perceptions are askew, our judgments are blocking our natural state of happiness.

Miracles, as far as I’m concerned don’t have to be ginormous (for example, five moonflowers in my garden popped open last night), but I’m going to share a couple biggies from my two weeks away. I could literally share 3000.

First, we had a magical, perfect-in-every-way day at Wimbledon, eventually sitting not far from the Royal Box on Centre Court. I hadn’t put this on any vision board. In fact, I’m not sure I even knew the famous tennis tournament was going on during my holiday, as the Brits call it.

But because I grew up in a tennis family (I once wrote an article that started with something like, “Not being able to play tennis in my family was like not being able to moonwalk in Michael Jackson’s family.”) Wimbledon is in my consciousness, in my thoughts. And most importantly, I hadn’t put going to Wimbledon in the “that’s not possible” box.

We all have two boxes. There’s the “of course, I can go to the grocery store, the local bar, the bank.” And then there’s the “that’s not possible” box.” At this point in my life, I’m happy to report there is very little left in my ‘that’s not possible” box. I’ve witnessed way too many “impossible” things.

In fact, someone recently sent me a picture of the pair of peacocks that marched in front of her suburban home after she made the intention to see one.

The second miracle involves my beloved Taz. The two of us traveled to London together at least twice. One time, in fact, we stayed in Room 222 at the Langham Hotel.

This time, my sis and I rented an Airbnb in Cookham, a short train ride from London. We loved this little town on the Thames SO MUCH that we only ventured into the big city one day, opting to catch a show in the West End. The name of the show? 2:22: A Ghost Story.

The last miracle I’m going to share because well, I’m sure you have other things to do than read a recounting of what I told my possibility posse was one perfect day after another, is that when I got home, an unexpected payment for a workshop I did years ago landed in my bank account. And well duh! It was the exact amount I’d spent during my amazingly awesome two weeks abroad.

If you build it—or rather if you don’t put something in the “that’s not possible box.”—it will come.

I love and appreciate you all SO MUCH and if you feel so inclined, I’d love to read some of your own recent miracles in the comments section below.

**The E3 Selfie Challenge encouraged readers to visualize their intentions in a selfie. Diane’s intention, to meet Al Pacino, included her and the handsome actor. Diane’s husband Marty even snapped the photo.

  1. Well done Pam, London and near Wimbledon (Barnes) was my entrance to this world of matter.

Thank you for just being you.
    Plus writing the books…..

  2. I just love it when you pop up in my inbox. Here is what I need to SEE “my 35 yr old niece with 2 toddlers, recover from stage 4 pancreatic cancer”!!! She is the most awesome person and she is so sick and so afraid. What can I do to help her beat this?? We have been collecting success stories but she is losing hope. Thanks, Pam!! I love your happiness.

    1. Maybe this will help with pancreatic cancer. Join a Facebook group called Fenbenzadole – Cancer Support Group. Search for Noel Watson – he is a very goid resource for surviving pan can using combination of chemo, supplements, and researched ways. He’s from the U.K. He has his own blog. He will provide hope, encouragement, support. He was stage 4, and now stable living much much longer than doctors or he thought possible. Hope this helps.

  3. Ooh I just love getting your updates! Wonderful to know that you’ve been enjoying your time in our lovely Country too 😃
So many miracles fall into our laps when we notice the beauty all around. Thank you for sharing yours Pam 🙏💗

  4. Love this! Inspiration galore! On my phone and finger text or I’d write a miracle story! Thank you Pam! Love love ❤️

  5. Thank you for sharing a few of your many miracles. I have such good memories of Wimbledon when I lived in the UK. And all the 222s and the Universe reimbursing your trip! Yay! I’ve emptied my impossible box and excited to see what unfolds.

  6. I was worried about you Pam! Thanks for the update. I should have known you were out having the best life ever!

  7. How was that play 2.22?? The peacocks were certainly outstanding and the check you got to cover your expenses. You are so inspiring! I looked carefully in my no can-do box and pulled out a few things!!!
    Looking for today’s miracle…

    1. I loved the peacocks, too. I mean right there in the middle of suburbia!!! And the play was interesting—all about what’s real and what’s not!

  8. How lovely! I had just put E2 down from the ‘umteenth’ read and here is your story Pam. Now that is such a warming miracle for me today. Cheers

  9. Apologies in advance for the length of this post!
How wonderful, Pam. So happy about all the blessings you experienced around taht trip. Here’s the miracle I’d like to share:
I’ve lived in my home for 30 years. Have never to date had much income, so the house has started to fall apart around me. I mean it has been BAAAD! And after spending months of online research in my city – hoping to get a grant or some kind of huge senior discount – dozens of unanswered phone calls and voicemails loads of prayer, affirmations and vision-boarding, I finally got my miracle. The city of Dallas is TOTALLY renovating my house for FREE! I’m talkin’ french drains to stop the flooding under my house, tree limb removal, new siding and windows, new steps up to front door, new front door, insulation in the attic, all new electric wiring, new HVAC system, new shower and sink/fixtures, new kitchen counter, sink and cabinets, and the removal of old disgusting carpet in 2 rooms replaced with new flooring! And my original “ask” of the Universe was new siding and windows and maybe some insulation if that wasn’t too much to ask for!!!
After this, there is nothing in the “that’s not possible” side of my box!

    1. Wow! Laura S, What an awesome demonstration of the Universe delivering what you asked for, because you asked!! Blessings, Ann

  10. Wow, Pam! Over the years of reading your fun, fresh, and wise books and receiving the monthly Newsletter, it never ceases to bring lightened energy throughout my cells and leaves me smiling. Your positive attitude feeds me, and sharing your stories with those who look at life upside-down negatively doubles the feeding, because I see a change (a seed planted) that comes over their eyes.

I am a walker, and in the last few months, I have listened to “The Course in Miracles Experiment” twice. It has all resonated and I’m sure I am not done.🤗. Through all I’ve experienced in life, I have pulled the positive out in every situation, and reading your words has always brought validation to that focus, rejuvenated this truth, and has given me the courage and confidence, at 67 years young, to publish my first book and start an optimistic newsletter that guide readers to ponder a fresh new perspective about their own lives. Thank you x222!

(My husband and I spent a 20-hour difficult travel day yesterday, and when we were given our hotel key at 2:00 am, there was a validation that all was well when we looked at our room number #222. And when I read your Newsletter today, I had to share.

In gratitude for your presence in the world and for the teacher you are just by the way you live your life,
    Namaste. Terry🦋

  11. Another I love this so much I don’t know what to say!!!!
I’m on a MIRACLE ADVENTURE HUNT and will DEF SHARE!!!
    Love,
    Kate in Carmel
    PS
I find living in Carmel a Miracle most days and that’s after 30 years….xxx

    1. Carmel is definitely a miracle place. I did an art workshop there many years ago. I was writing a story about the workshop for Cooking Light magazine.

  12. I just flew home yesterday from the San Francisco Bay Area after cleaning out my Dad’s house following his recent passing. It was a cool, foggy summer morning, the kind I would use as a teen (and still do) as non-holiday “permission” to enjoy to Christmas Music, regardless of time of year. I said to my partner while riding transit to the airport, “This would be a great morning for Christmas Music.” And you’ve guessed it. Once we settled at the gate before boarding, a nearby couple was listening to Christmas Music, an entire album, without headphones, in July, in the airport, via their phone. Miracles abound!

    1. That is so cool! Just like Auntie Mame! Once when Taz was little, we were going to visit a friend who had flown in to visit her parents. On the way, Taz, out of the blue, said something about Christmas. This was July! We got to my friend’s parent’s house and her mom had set up the Christmas tree for the little kids to decorate.

  13. I could read about your miracles all day Pam! And others too. You inspire us all and help us to seek and recognise the miracles in our own life. I received one yesterday and I’ll be on the hunt again today. Soo good. Continued blessings and love to you and all. ❤️🙏😄

  14. My miracle was that this evening I had an urge to google ‘miracle stories’ on YouTube and see what came up. It’s something I do regularly to pump more ‘faith juice’ into my Faith Tank (which has been running low recently). Before I logged onto YouTube though, the thought popped into my head to first check your blog. Alas, since you hadn’t posted in a while, I thought I wouldn’t see anything new.
Well lo and behold: Miracle stories from you and the UK! And the kicker is that I am missing the UK after living there for 6 years and having to move back to the States recently. So I will put ‘live in the UK’ back on my ‘possibility list’. And thank you for refilling my Faith Tank!

  15. Cookham is lovely! I used to walk there with my landlady and her dog on weekends and then to the pub afterwards for a glass of red! Glad you had a great holiday!

  16. My Hub’s brother had a stroke last December, and due to the extent of his injuries, won’t ever be able to live at home. We have cared for his cat these 8 months, and now that his house must be sold to pay for his care, we had to figure out how to rehome her. We said if we couldn’t find a good home we would take her, but in my mind, something kept saying, “There will be someone who really needs this cat.” I made a FB post, and in 3 days, after so many people sharing my post, the Universe gave us what this little girl needed – a couple who were dying for a cat just like her! She was literally everything they were looking for, and now she is with them, and has all of the attention and love that she was missing. They are totally smitten with her. That little voice in my head, well, we all know what that was!

    1. So glad to hear this. I read in the Course this morning that we are availed of guidance when we share. So I will always share because I relish the guidance. SO MANY BLESSINGS!!!

  17. Thank you for the reminder. I realized I am focusing on the big miracles too much. Yesterday I focused on the little miracles and it was an amazing day. I will continue to look for the little miracles 💖 and see the beauty everywhere.

  18. Alby Einstein offered — “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” — and I choose the latter approach. 😉 So lovely to hear from you, Pam, and that last photo is very cool!

  19. I love the miracles report! I just returned from magical travels as well! Took my kids on an ocean adventure, stayed in my new favorite inn, assigned w a favorite number room, 232; getting there I took a sunset flight, window seat with an empty seat beside me, the sunset unfolded over 3 hours, three time zones, & 3 pages of poetry with the hot pink setting sun still peeking through the horizon upon my 11pm arrival! No window seat on the flight home, (the seat letters were labeled differently on this airline, so I enjoyed the extra aisle room and a magical movie) but when I visited the restroom, the view out of the window was indeed heavenly, as if the universe said, We got you!! <3 <3 <3

  20. I volunteer for a local nature center and spent the day preparing for a big event the following day. I was decorating “The Enchanted Trail” for the children attending the event, and I received an email from a publisher that they would indeed publish my book The Enchanted Earth! I had been searching for a publishing deal for 2 years! It was an amazing synchronicity and miracle 🙂
