Might as well accept the truth about yourself

“There is an ever present goodness threading through the natural world, evident in every act of kindness and love made visible.”—Carrie Newcomer

On the plane ride home from Spain, I fell in love with a pair of four-year-old twin girls, wearing matching flowered dresses.

We first met in the Madrid airport where they had ingeniously created their own playground behind the airport terminal seats.

I couldn’t help but watch as they skipped, giggled and chased each other, exuding a natural sense of joy.

And I began to wonder. If that’s how little humans come into this world, wouldn’t it make sense that a 40-year-old or a 60-year-old, with considerably more years to enjoy their life, would be even more bubbly and gleeful? With normal development, seems they’d be ecstatic by now.

Today’s Course in Miracles lesson says that’s not just theoretical. If we can accept the truth about ourselves and allow our natural light to shine, we, too, can experience a natural sense of joy.

In fact, we already have it. It’s just temporarily covered up by all our crazy thoughts and beliefs. Over the course of our lives, we gather up a lot of ideas about who we are, what we’re capable of, what is possible.

But everything we have picked up and put into our belief basket is just a story that hides our inner four-year-olds, secretly grinning with love.

Have the best weekend of your lives, my loves. I adore you and am just so grateful for each and every one of you who takes the time to read my crazy musings.

  1. Once I was that four years old twin girl. We were laughing and cycle with an old bike on a hill. We laughed so much and were happy with nothing. Nowadays I found it difficult to be happy..

  11. I adore you too dear Pam, and am so glad you share your crazy musings with us here. They often set off a ‘lightbulb moment’ for me, and always inspire or delight me, so it’s a pleasure to read them and to start my weekend off with a boost of joy! 🥳 My lightbulb moment today came from you saying that “everything we have picked up and put in our belief basket during our life is just a story that hides our inner 4 year old who is secretly grinning with love.” My mind lit up when I read the words ‘belief basket’ and I had a clear picture of myself carrying a basket and gathering up all sorts of ‘goodies’ and putting them in there. And it became so clear to me that I could easily let go of old limiting beliefs if I could picture them as an item in a basket I was carrying that I could just take out and throw away. Or blow away like blowing dandelion seeds into the wind. And likewise I can now easily adopt new nourishing beliefs because after all they are just an item I need to pick up and put in my ‘belief basket’. Yes!! So thank you for giving me the chance to have this ‘lightbulb moment’ today, and for reminding me that my joyful, delighted inner 4 year old is just hiding under those old, boring stories that I’ve forgotten to take out of my basket. 🧺🎈🥳 Have a wonderful weekend yourself dear Pam. I’m going to imagine all of us here dancing and giggling through our days like happy, carefree 4 year olds, loving life to bits! Amen! 😄💃👩🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼🕺🎉

PS I didn’t realise how long this reply was until I re read it to check for typos! So hopefully my own ‘crazy musings’ will be helpful or entertaining for someone here who happens to read this message! 😁

  18. I am grateful that I discovered you and I appreciate you ♥️. Can anyone answer a question for me. I have gone through the Scavenger Hunt in the 10th anniversary book. I found some and didn’t find others. Is it ok to start over until I get them all? I’m not willing to declare that “it doesn’t work”. Not when O have manifested some of the things. Thank you! ♥️
