Worldview 2.0: You will bring abundance and joy into your life once you stop talking smack about it

“Some people have a way with words, and other people…oh, uh, not have way.”
― Steve Martin, American comedian

Just curious, my friends?

What are these phrases still doing in your head?

“Something needs to be fixed.”

“This is not good enough.”

“I don’t have enough.”

Visualize all you want. Affirm until the cows come home. But as long as your vocabulary is toxic, as long as you fail to get up each morning and realize how blessed you are—just to be alive, just to have this 24 hours—all your efforts will be futile.

When you say things like “This is going to be a great day,” or “Things always work out for me,” you are using your words to prophesy a positive future.

Most of us, instead of utilizing the magic potion of our words, throw them around carelessly like confetti at a party.

To continue to rehash things that didn’t please us makes no sense. Replaying negative stories over and over only adds energy to them, emitting the frequency that will attract more events with a similar frequency. Especially when we could use our allotment of words to inspire, uplift and encourage.

Most of us are smart enough not to rush to Red Box when our least favorite movies come out on DVD, so why do we insist on running repeats of the least favorite events in our life?

Just like it’s important to head west if you’re going to California, it’s important to send your words out in the direction you’d like your life to go.

  1. I have sort of been doing the program. I asked the Universe for a well paying job as a massage therapist where the clients will like my massages. It took about 1 1/2 weeks and I got the job.

    Thank you

      1. Funny on your comment TILL THE COWS COME HOME, I am a manifester everyone calls me John the manifester, and everything comes quickly and very easily.I was just sitting here this early morning and i have some payments to make on my farming operation today-fretting just a little bit till i read your blog…. and what was so funny was that I bought a bull and 1 cow today at the auction here in Pennsylvania, and when I saw that I immediately dropped the negativity.
I find that in manifesting that what ever I have a need for or a want for something-I don’t put any negativity to it as i find that if you believe in something 100% you will receive that gift–but if you put any degree of negativity to it you also will get that too equally to what you put out there…… So if you put out 100% and you give 50% negative thought to it also— watch out— you will get what you think……
        From a friend JOHN PA…..
PS remember till the cows come home LOL

    1. Dear John, the Manifester:

You made my day. When that phrase “until the cows came home,” popped into my head, I first thought “change that–it’s a cliche” but something told me to keep it. Now I know why. It would result in me hearing from a master manifester with wise words. Thanks for your beautiful comment.

      1. It just shows that you were in my manifested moment in time. This happens to me ll the time… With LOVE n Gratitude John The Manifester

  2. Thank you for this article Pam!! I stopped me right in my negative tirade against a variety of things in my live. I will sometimes tell the negative stories automatically or blame everything but myself for the state of my life, forgetting the many blessings and positive things I have. So, thanks for this much needed reminder!!! Much love.

  3. Infinite Love and Gratitude Pam! You are a bright and shining Light and I am so grateful we are connected. Gloria in Excelsis Deo!

      1. The listing states 12 noon Eastern Standard Time (Montreal, Quebec, Canada will be your location for the talk, Pam?) == 12 noon Atlantic Standard Time. The US is still on Daylight Savings Time, so 1pm EDT and 10am PDT for USians.

  4. I loved this post! I caught myself doing this word sabotage on yesterday. I have been seeking to be open to new relationships after the death of my wife. Someone walked up to me in the parking lot seeking my spot if I were leaving. His brother was driving their car looking for parking. He and I chatted as I walked to my vehicle. He told me he was from the same city of my birth and asked if I were married because he was looking for friends for his mother. I agreed to at least join them for dinner but was skeptical and suspicious. Then, as I drove home, I heard myself say all the reasons why it would not work out for my good. There were many. I then realized, via my emotions what my thinking was. It came to me that this was most importantly an example of what I am seeking is seeking me. I had also been talking to friends about being open to the magic of the Universe. I began to see that magic in just this person walking up to me.
Thanks for this post to remind me that my words, even unspoken ones, matter.

  5. Hi Pam, you have saved my life more than once! I was in a bad place a couple of years ago, read E2 and then E3, my life started turning to joy and I got my dream job, love where I live, great friends, etc. In April, I went into V fib at work and was minutes from the big dirt nap…came out of that and was fired…I was now a liability. I started reading Thanks and Grow Rich and even after two attorneys told me I would not win the appeal for unemployment…I kept reading and believing and it happened. I wait for your blogs to come to my email, if something unfortunate is taking p!ace, or i am worried about something, I remind myself to hold on, and go pick up any of your books and start reading. I love it! I read about the woman who got her Tibetan Prayer Beads and started with 108 things to be grateful for, I started that and its so fun! I carry a notepad with me now and jot down things I’m grateful for and blessings all day, so I can put them on my list at night. Has really changed my life…thank you, THANK YOU. My life has changed because of you.

  6. “Spirituality is a team sport” – I love it!

Thank you for always knowing what to say and when to say it. Even though I’m an in-your-face-full-on-gratitude-giver, I’m not perfect (shocker!) and will slip into a woe-is-me every once in a while.

I can tell when my vibrations are out of sync – my husband hides, and mosquitoes instead of owls show up at my doorstep–I’ll take a sweet hoot over dollar-sized welts any day.

Thank you for the reminder that our words and thoughts matter.
    You da bomb diggity!

  7. You have way!
Seriously, I really find my mind has a mind of its own sometimes, especially when I’m making the bed, for some reason. My thoughts start focusing on some old slight or hurt and all of a sudden I’m into the muck. I literally have to yell “STOP” at myself in order to gain control. Why is this?

    1. My thoughts provide endless entertainment. The trick is not to take them too seriously and to always, always remember–they’re not you. Who you are is light and creativity and pure love.

  8. I needed this right now. I’m currently working on a friends webpage and I can’t seem to have any passion for working on it. Then I realized when I open the program to start coding I say to myself “ugh! why is this so hard?” and I sit there miserably…for hours!
Soooo…. given that I’ve caught myself.. I now declare a change of attitude and WORDS.
I’m grateful to have been entrusted with this project and I will use my creativity to put together a solution for a speedy launch to this webpage!

    Thank You, Pam!! ^.^

    1. Thanks, Priscilla! Other than changing the word ‘webpage’, your post could have been written by me. Your comment was a wake-up call because, while I’m positive about (and grateful for) many things, a current project I’m working on has had me similarly stuck in action and attitude. Much thanks for the ‘a-ha!’

Thanks to Pam for your great light, wonderful writings, and creating this place for us all to meet!

  9. a couple of good quotes (the Steve Martin one is SO appropos! (sp?)) on this subject…..

    made me smile

    🙂

  10. Hi Pam,

Long time reader here. I rarely post my comment, but this little post reminded me of a story I read when I was a little child and it stayed with me forever. I don’t recall it completely, but it goes something like this : Two people down in life are talking smack about their lives. They come across someone wise who teaches them that around us, hidden from our eyes, there are demigods passing by, roaming around who grant your every-wish, both good or bad. Whatever comes out of your mouth, they say ‘Tathastu’. Its a Sanskrit word, meaning ‘so be it’. These demigods are called ‘Tathastu Devta’ meaning ‘Wish granting gods’. The people in the story also experience it firsthand when whatever comes out of their mouth takes form in reality. Frightened and excited, they become responsible speakers and take charge of their lives. Of course, there is a lot more to the story, but its been almost 25 years since I read it, so memory is a bit hazy here.

Why do we talk smack about our lives anyway? Why is self deprecation admired? Why do I have to put myself down and expect someone else to prop me up with their praise?

I will share something life transforming with my fellow seekers here. I have had stomach problems for past 17 years or so. Indigestion, acid reflux, stomach ulcer, you name it, I had it. Everyday eating was a challenge, because practically any food triggered my stomach except the blandest of foods like grilled chicken, white rice, potatoes etc. I also always hated how my stomach looked and would go in front of the mirror frequently, look at it and say out loud ‘I hate my stomach’. My stomach got worse and worse. Until one day I read ‘The holographic universe’.One line in that book changed my life completely. That never yell at your body! When you do that your body becomes sad. Whichever body part you yell at, talk smack about becomes sad and it’s performance declines!!

After I recovered from the initial shock, I went in front of the mirror, looked at my stomach and said out loud, “I am so sorry that I have yelled at you all my life, that I have hated how you look, I have always considered you the ugliest part of me. I am so very sorry. I know you have been trying your best to keep me healthy. You are a great stomach. You are trying way beyond your capacity to help me. Thank you for that. You are beautiful, you are an absolutely beautiful stomach. I here by name you Rose, because you are delicate and beautiful. I will be kind to you from now on.” And like magic, from that very moment every single problem I had with my stomach, with my digestion, acid reflux, bloating, every single thing just vanished!!! I am not kidding, it just vanished! Now I eat and drink anything I desire, my stomach works wonderfully. Sometimes I look at my stomach and give it a rub and say “Who is a good stomach, who? who? ” and I can feel my body just gets calmer and happier. I have so much respect for my body now, it is indeed trying the best it can, always.
Bottom line, whatever comes out of your mouth is going to take form if you keep at it. So be a responsible speaker.

  11. Dear Pam.- Good morning today is a GREAT DAY . Yours thoughts are power Best regards Jose Dueñas . In this momentos I hear Robin Gutrie…..a magnificent guitar player
