Why gratitude is the best game in town

“The universe is programmed for your joy.”–Marianne Williamson
As a devotee of A Course in Miracles, I go through its 365 lessons every year, starting January 1. Right now, the lessons are teaching me about grievances and how every time I have one, I block the light, I block the miracles, I block the truth.

I have come to the conclusion that the only problem (or grievance) I ever have is thinking I have a problem. Which is why gratitude is such a holy practice.

Not only does giving thanks move me onto a different frequency and change the lens through which I see the world, but it changes the world itself. It changes material objects. It changes the events in my life.

When I focus on grievances, the light cannot get through. Reality cannot get through. All I can see is a hologram of my grievances which, as anyone peering inside my head can tell you, is not a place anyone would want to pitch a tent.

The universe is alive, constantly changing, constantly in motion. And we participate in its evolution. All my grievances do is make more grievances.

At the 1927 Solvay Conference in Brussels, attended by dozens of future Nobel prize winners, physicists Werner Heisenberg and Neils Bohr made the case that even scientific research wasn’t completely pure and well, scientific because the experimenter, the observer, affects the experiment through his beliefs and expectations.

Did you get that? We shape the forces of the universe with our thoughts and beliefs. So, when we look for all that’s going right, we animate that superposition into our lives. When we focus on our grievances (basically anytime, we think things should be other than they are), we animate a world of suffering and struggle.

Many insist on hanging on to the belief that our grievances and struggles are real and I would never attempt to take that away from anyone.

But I can tell you this about my own life. When I put my attention on everything that’s going right (hey, my heart is still beating, the birds are still singing, the sun came up without me having to do a thing), my life, both mentally and physically, is more fun. I’m more curious, more loving, more peaceful. And for me, that’s enough.

So my friends, as I often say on Friday, have the very best weekend of your life. And, yes, I’ve shared this before, but I think it’s high time to share it again. I love you all!

  1. thank you, Pam, for providing an on going stream of reminders for me to just, REMEMBER!

Everyday I think I am just facing new challenging circumstances and situations when really it’s just me thinking the old stuff

Everyday I let myself get fooled again and then have to get quiet and re-choose.

I know that this doesn’t have to be this way ( since I realize that I am the one steering the ship into the Bering Sea to experience the perfect storm everyday for my own mysterious reasons).

So if I KNOW all this, why don’t I LIVE like this, I ask myself?

Thank you so much again for being you–for sharing your fantastic insights.

    Best to you,

  2. Thank you Dera Pam
Your messages keep me in the right track when I am loosing my belief and my positive energy!!!
Hope you come to sunny Greece to give us a lecture!!!
    All the best!
May love always be with you 😊😊

      1. Where in England will you be in July? It would be amazing if you said Bournemouth but London would be great, as I wasn’t able to get along to see you in 2013.

  3. Thanks Pam for shining your light every day! I, like Megan above, KNOW what you said is true so why is it so difficult to LIVE IT?

Each and every day I remind myself to choose joy and happiness and I’m definitely getting better at it. And you and your newsletters, books and viewpoints are a huge help!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! May your cup always runneth over with love, peace, joy and harmony! Oh yes, and abundance, too!

  4. Thank you Pam for an awesome reminder that life is meant for joy no matter what. These days I have been beating my head with the hammer of beautiful thoughts. I am not the same regular Joe anymore . Have an awesomely amazing weekend Pam.

  5. I am thankful for being introduced to your writings by a friend of mine a year ago.. (E2) Without getting into too much i was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago this May/ what we thought was going to be pretty simple turned into aggressive chemo, mascectomy (the whole thing) and two months after my diagnosis, my mom was diagnosed… It was a lot to take in , but i did pretty well, stayed as positive as I could and mostly all because of following your guidance. The last few weeks have been a bit tough (now hormone therapy wreaking havoc on my brain) , but I received one of your blog updates – enter Thank and Grow Rich at the perfect time/ I’ve been listening to it daily at home, in my car and just mentally changing my frequency!! Thank you!!!

    1. Hi Diana,
I would like to introduce you to a nutrition web site with link below. It’s a non-profit site founded by Dr. Michael Greger whose grandmother inspired him into the profession with a change of diet. You just might have more help from the universe than you truly believe.
I also saw this quote before and it’s truth for me,
“The power that created the body can heal the body.”
God has blessed you already and I would love to also,
      Mike Stilinovich

  6. Thank you once again Pam , I also needed this reminder today and am grateful for you !

  7. Pam!! Thank you for this amazingly huge gust of fresh air…from which I have just filled my sails!! You are the BEST, my friend ❤️ I can coast on this for the whole weekend!! 😎💪😎

  8. Thanks, Pam! I love that you keep spreading he Light. Holograms still confuse me. What does “a hologram of my grievances” mean?

  9. Gratitude is one of my greatest gifts
It’s not hard to practice it
It’s rewiring my brain to form a new habit which always brings a smile to my ❤️ heart

  10. Thank you Pam for re validating that . Most times I do have only joyful thoughts.. but being reminded every once in a while, helps. 👍

  11. Thank you, and I love you too! For this being the perfect thing to read just before I go to sleep!! Bless you and all you think and do!!

  12. Love it ….so true. I have found since I have read E2,. Thank and Grow Rich and Live Big, (Jan. & Feb.) my life has changed – because my attitude has changed – what freedom when I don’t cling to negativity and struggle. I purchased A Course in Miracles probably 20 years ago. I’ve tried many times to get into it, but couldn’t so it ended up in a drawer then a box when I moved. (because of the quotes in your books) I fished it out at the start of March and have been doing the Workshop and reading the text every morning and I’m loving it and I’m actually getting it. I’m currently in a situation where I normally would be getting all anxious and dramatic, but instead I’m calm. content. grateful and just know that everything will work out as it should, what an incredible feeling….I love it. Thank you so much for the reminder to return to being centered, balanced, grounded and grateful. KLS

  13. “We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body.If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the outer world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wondweful thing it is and a source of our happines. We need not wait and see what others do… ”

  14. Pam I love reading your posts. I’m doing A Course in Miracles for the first time. I’m struggling with my joy as I grapple with finding balance for my spirit reality and my life on the physical plane. Your posts seem to find such joy and peace from ACIM. How do you thoroughly enjoy your physical life, as you seem to do, and grow in a spiritual reality that is denying your bodies reality?????

  15. Thank you Pam! I am doing the ACIM lessons, not always faithfully practicing. Progress not perfection.
