“Become committed—fully committed—to the experience of happiness.”—The Way of Mastery
I just created an LOA quiz for Good Vibe University. It’s a simple, four-part quiz to determine how adept you are at employing the law of attraction.
Jeannette Maw, the totally hip “school marm” who hosts this powerful law of attraction site, and I will be partying on the 19th so take the quiz beforehand (it’s sort of a no-brainer) and join us as we talk about the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge and why doing this with others is so much more fun.
In the meantime, I want to talk about innocence and vulnerability and one of the sidewalk cracks we stumble over when claiming the largesse of the universe.
I call it a sidewalk crack because it’s very subtle. There’s an underlying belief that we shouldn’t admit we want riches, joyous relationships, rewarding work. What if people think we’re selfish? What if we piss God off?
So we’re in conflict. We have desires, but we don’t want to admit them. We pinch them off. We hide them under the bed. Desire, after all, is a blot on the spiritual path. Isn’t it?
But what if desire IS the spiritual path, what if it’s the animating force that propels us forward, that effects beautiful transformation on the planet?
What if desire is actually God in action? And by suppressing our desires, we’re actually crippling God.
So I’d like to suggest that we surrender to the creative force that wells within us and begin to view our desires as wholly innocent, wholly pure, wholly….holy.
So yes, it might be scary to post your highest intention in the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge. It might be intimidating to admit you desire material comfort and creative expression and unending love. But if we don’t all come out of the closet about our desires, we risk thwarting the full potential of the universe, of God.
I’m read to undress. How about you?

Naked? Money? Naked? Money? I say Naked!
As a jaybird!!
According to a book I read, which stated that God is most interested in us creating the right experiences for us in order for him to experience, there is nothing wrong with asking for whatever it is that we need/want to create our happiness. If we will be able to pass on a fabulous experience to God by receiving a (e.g.) Jaguar, BMW convertible, whatever, then we should be able to ask for it without guilt. The Puritans and more recent religious groups say we should not be materialistic, but what makes them experts?
It’s all about expansion, upliftment and love, sweet love. Our desires move all those things forward.
Absolutely NAKED! Strip off the outer layers of self-limiting beliefs. Down to the bare truth that “whatsoever you desire, ask for it, and it shall be given to you.” Jesus said it, LOA says it. Say it and make it yours.
Name it and claim it, as I always say!!
Is the quiz you mentioned available? How can I access it? Thanks!

I love Tahoe. I’ve been there several times–to ski, to write travel articles and to revel in nature’s majesty. What a paradise. Can’t wait to hear how the class goes. Blessings!!
Amen. I want that $2500 a week for life scratch off win. That’s the kind of desire people shy away from. I don’t care, that’s what I want! And I win things all the time, so this is no different. 🙂
This was a fun story about a lottery win:

CALL ME
I love that you said we “pinch them off.” And here I thought I was the only one that said that kinda stuff. You are a hilarious teacher, Pam. And folks like me get that.
Cheers, Lisa
Thanks, Lisa. Gotta make this stuff fun. Otherwise, it won’t last. And living in joy and gratitude needs to last.
Hi Pam, I find depressed people don’t think they want anything at all. They have no desire, they are so flat! One of Abraham’s exercises is to do a “So it is” or “Amen” type box and put if it everything that takes your fancy. Not that you have to really want to do it, but you quite fancy it. This I think begins to open the door of desire for them. Another of his tricks is to have people “spend” $1000 today, $2000 tomorrow $3000 the day after and by the end of the year you are “spending” $365,000 so the person again begins to find and focus on what they want. A lot of people simply have no idea. I think it is to do with suppressed creativity.
Thanks, Jan, for these fabulous ideas! Let’s hear it for expansion.
What a GREAT, clarifying, liberating take on desire. You really cut through the c**p, Pam, and I love you for it! Thank you once again. I want it all, please, and I am happy to not only say so, but also to say how much I love feeling the abundance that materialised once I stopped seeing lack and started seeing what was already there. Really good stuff happens when you relax, breathe and bathe in the love that surrounds us.
Perfect–bathing in the love that surrounds us–even better than a bubble bath!! Thanks, Jane!!

My #JumpingoffMoment … The moment you know that going back is out of the equation.
“Today I Boldly place my foot on my new pathway. I open my heart knowing that love guides me in my every waking moment. All is Well!” JF
I start each day thinking about all I the things I am grateful for…My deep breath, dog licking my face, kids laughing, my job, etc…
This year, I follow it up with a question for the universe: “HDIGABTT?” (How Does It Get Any Better Than This)
It is amazingly awesome how the Universe answers that question in ways that surprise me each day…. A free beach chair, random musicians playing my favorite song, free beach chairs…My cheeks hurt from smiling…this year is going to be fabulous!!!
The difference you describe is between a life that is magical – or ordinary.
And I think that innocence must be extended out to include the world. One cannot be condemning AND innocent, because our minds are creative and therefore we must experience what we judge as true.
Here’s a passage from A Course in Miracles that supports what you say:
“Thy will be done, you holy Child of God. It does not matter if you think you are in earth or Heaven. What your Father wills for you can never change. The truth in you remains as radiant as a star, as pure as light, as innocent as Love Itself. And you ARE worthy that your Will be done.”
