Why possibility trumps “facts” every time

“The man who views himself the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.”—Muhammad Ali

I’m a journalist, bound by the ethics of my profession to tell the truth and provide reliable, unbiased information.

But here’s the rub. I no longer believe there is one truth to report, one single perception. Anybody listening to political ads can second the motion that “reality” is up for grabs.

While reporting for say, People magazine or CNN, both outlets for which I write, I will continue to gather “facts.”

But here’s the criteria I use in the rest of my life:

Instead of asking, “Is it true?” I prefer to know if a particular story is useful. Does it enlarge the conversation, strengthen the life force?

Quantum physics tells us we animate into our lives whatever we place our attention upon.

When we view “reality” through the lens of possibility rather than a solidified, this-is-just-how-it-is viewpoint, something new and magical can happen.

Sure, there’s poverty, but what if we could figure out a way for everyone to prosper?

Sure, there’s sickness, but what if we could harness the power that constantly pushes for healing, what if all of us could live in perfect alignment?

Although I’m trained as a journalist, I prefer to think of my career now as being a pioneer on the frontiers of magic and enchantment.

Law-of-Attraction-Retreat
If you’d care to join me in this miraculous adventure, check out these upcoming events.

This weekend (Okay, so there’s not much lead time), I’ll be at the Circle S Ranch, a six-generation working ranch outside Lawrence, where I’ll be speaking at the fall Law of Attraction retreat.

On November 22, I’ll be giving a retreat with Canada’s premier executive and sports coach Dirk Stroda at the Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa, near Vernon, British Columbia. Selected by Fodor’s as one of the top 100 resorts in the world, Sparkling Hill is not only nestled in the mountains, overlooking a lake, but it has more than 3.5 million Swarovski crystals. For more information on all this fabulousity, click here.

And if you’ve been thinking about cruising to Alaska, why not join me June 21-July 1, 2015 aboard the Golden Princess for Silver Lining’s inaugural 10-day cruise from San Francisco to Alaska and back. The first in a series of cruises meant to inspire and enlighten, this kick-off cruise features moi and other exciting authors. And best of all, profits from the cruise go to the Perspective Family Center that helps women say goodbye to addictions, mental illness and poverty. Find out more here:

Well, that’s it for today, folks. As I always like to say on Friday, make this the best weekend of your life.

    1. Thanks, Debra! You can send them here. However, just so you know, we’ve already had a winner of the contest. But so glad you were able to find them all. And especially glad you’re having fun. That’s always the secret.

    2. Thanks! Those ten facts were too fast for those of us over 50. I’ll have to view them again a couple of times.

  3. I don’t think I will make it to any of these wonderful events. However, I would love to invite you to come visit with me on our “sky deck”, in our back yard, with beautiful views of SW Colorado and NW New Mexico! We can sip and daydream…
Hey, it doesn’t hurt to ask, right??

  4. Hi Pam. Need your advice!! What if there is an a**hole in my life, that I can’t seem to shrug off? I keep spiraling into this vortex of doom and sadness with this a**hole. I know, I read your chapter on relationships. He keeps returning into my life. What should I do? Get into the good feeling space? Thank you kindly.

  5. To the point of your post I suggest you check out Dee Hock, the Founder and CEO Emeritus of VISA who walked away from that 30 years + ago to dedicate himself to “Possibility” and who wrote a great book called “Birth of the Chaordic Age” 15 + years ago. It’s out of print but I recently found a hardback in beautiful condition on Amazon for $0.01, best money I’ve ever invested.

Check it out. You and he are on the same page. FYI I believe he is still alive although in his 80s.

    Be well,

    Michael
