“Words will never inspire us to get up and do anything. But ecstasy just might.”—Mary Oliver

Having spent the past five weeks away, I haven’t yet watched the new season of “Ted Lasso.”
But I DID notice the cover story about Brett Goldstein (AKA Roy Kent) in the September issue of Men’s Health UK.
And while you might conclude I was attracted to the actor’s shirtless physique, it was actually his cure for overcoming depression that grabbed me.
For years, the hunky Goldstein suffered bouts of despair and gloom. Finally, after consulting a therapist, he was prescribed a 30-day program I wrote about in my book, Thank and Grow Rich.
Rx: Begin each day documenting things for which you’re grateful.
Day #1: “What am I grateful for?
Nothing,” he said. “But then I noticed the sun came up. You have to start so small.”
Despite his early resistance, the gratitude habit eventually rewired his brain.
“By Day 30, you’ve trained your brain to look for the positive,” he says. “And then you start thinking ‘I’m the luckiest guy in the world.’ Everything’s f****** amazing.”
He finally concluded that he’d spent his life learning all the wrong lessons.
“I get to choose how I see the world. Looking for good is a f******** skill.”
Oh, and by the way, the cover of Goldstein draped in a towel WAS a thrill to look at. It might even make MY gratitude list tomorrow.
#222 Forever!

A Gratitude Practice delivers unexpected delicious delights.
Generosity is one of its derivatives.
ALL GOOD!💥🔥💥🙏
Thank you for sharing, Pam. It is absolutely true that when we take our rightful place as an aspect of the One that we carefully govern what enters our mind. Gratitude is so powerful.
Blessings. I’m grateful for you.
How fun to know this about Brett Goldstein. I finished the new episodes in a week, and noticed my use of f**k increased immensely, lol!
When I see your name in my inbox, it makes my heart smile! Thank you for the reminder.
It’s been a while since I let the habit of a daily gratitude list slip from my routine, but this post has reminded me of how much I enjoyed looking for 3 new and different things to be grateful for each day. So thank you Pam – and thank you hunky spunky cover guy- for the reminder that gratitude really does make such a difference, often in ways we never imagined or expected. 🙏🏼🌷🦋💝
I’ll second what Jenny Louise said! Amen to the hunky spunky cover guy who’s got it right and huge thanks to you Pam for the, as always, fab reminders. ❤️❤️

I feel so grateful for your emails! I love you Pam!
Thank and Grow Rich is one of my favorites, as well. And, the Ted Lasso series is a worthwhile series to watch. I picked up Apple TV just for that reason.
