What I want to know

“With a small shift in awareness, the world starts to speak in a very different way.”—James Bridle

Where we direct our attention creates our world, both individually and collectively.

What I want to know is why do we permit the superpower of our attention to be sucked into a vortex of negativity…

…when it rains diamonds on the planet Saturn**

…when the call of a mother humpback whale can travel 600 miles through the ocean.

What I want to know is why do we direct our attention to old white guys wearing suits and spouting inanities….

…when there is a fairy trail outside Milburn, New Jersey with 100 tiny, whimsical cottages, lovingly created by a mother who wanted a safe place for her autistic son to explore the wilderness.

….when a Sumatran orangutun recently healed a wound on his right cheek by making an ointment out of an herb. He didn’t go to the doctor or buy an advertised pharmaceutical. He simply listened to the hum of aliveness that calls to us all.

What I want to know is why do we focus on news, social media and political ads specifically designed to distract, enrage and make us fear each other… ….

….when a flash mob danced to “Let it Go” at the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris.

…when clematis and iris and columbine are putting on the show of their life right now.

Rather than waste our attention on mediated content, let’s go outside and tune our superpower to Mother Nature and her teeming aliveness. It’s humming all around us.

  1. Nature is literally humming here in NC with the glorious sound of the cicadas!!

    1. Lovely! Lucy Grace made a good point in the interview I posted, wondering why we seek out sound baths with singing bowls when the cicadas are doing it right here in our yards.

      1. Why not do both. Sound baths made by loving human beings can be very blessing too🙏

  2. I love what you are saying about tuning in to the majesty and wonder of nature all around us and all the good that is present right in the here and now…… and I think we have to be mindful of all of that, and aware and responsive to what is happening in our world. For me, turning a blind eye to injustice as our planet burns is a form of neglect which is not loving. I believe we must respond, and we can respond, in a way that is loving and creative, and life giving. We can take whatever action we feel called to do while retaining the sense of wonder of it all. At least this is my way of trying to create balance, love the world around me that we are a part of, and tend to it lovingly.

  3. Thank you, Pam, for shining your light so brightly. For helping us pay attention to where we’re putting our thoughts and attention. For reminding us of the love and beauty in our precious planet (our home) that we’re missing when we focus on stuff that the powers that be put out there for the sole purpose of keeping us distracted from all that beauty and wonder and from co-creating heaven on earth.
Light is winning. Thank you. 💞

  4. These are my favorite words of wisdom from you!!! I agree and try to live my life seeing the beauty and magic💕

  5. I LOVE THIS!!!! Thank you!!! I have avoiding news like the plague it is BC of its negativity. Too much beauty out there to be fascinated with the petty, nasty and hate filled.

  6. Why do some focus their attention on the negative? Fear, is that simple answer.
Most are taught from the first comprehension of language nothing but well meaning fear. Don’t touch the stove it’s hot, don’t run across the street has turned to don’t go outside.
Love has turned from allowing anther to be themselves to a long list of, you have to do, demands. Fear like darkness isn’t real. As darkness vanishes with light so does fear with Love.

  7. Love this. It’s so true and it’s how I try and live my life.but thanks for the reminder Pam. Robert above says it so well, we’ve been conditioned from birth to be careful and cautious and to be afraid, of everything, so it takes constant repetition (and your awesome messages) to know the truth. Fear isn’t real. Only love is. ❤️🙏

  8. Wow!! Yes! Amen! 😁 Diamonds rain down on Saturn? Never heard that before! That’s incredible. So many incredible, wonderful, amazing, beautiful things about our world and the people on it. Thank you Pam for reminding us to tune in to nature and her constant delightful gifts instead of all the other ‘news’ out there. And thank you for that lovely quote about how our soulmates could also be the wind, our friends, artwork or the moon. Beautiful! I’ve always felt connected especially to trees and to clouds. I just love clouds- they’re magical to me, and feel like friends. So I’m now going to think of them as my soulmates. Love it!☺️🥰 And I love you dear Pam! Thanks for your beautiful, brilliant light shining upon our day like a whole planet of diamonds! 🪐⭐️🌏🎉😘

  9. Hi Pam
I thank you for introducing this journey to me and to anyone and everyone. I hope we are all having so much fun and miracles with it as I am.( an if not now, or yet, in their definition, that the all encompassing oneness leaps from the page as it is for me) Yes Pam, it started with “The Voice” saying I love you little Nettie ( your story gave me permission to write them down:-) and its now not “The Voice”but “TV” abbreviated as we are on more immediate and intimate terms.. “TV” chattering with me for an hour or more each morning and waking me up in the night to tell me something ..( Last night it was ” I could not want anything for you, that I do not want for myself” ( not that I am Wanting anything, of course, any more than you are” ..and that is true of everyone no matter what, We realized.) This morning started with TV “It’s all so what, Now What? ” ( after a long writing on the illusion of time and space and time and TV’s l definition of Oneness and of the illusion of ego )
    and so it is
Thanks Pam for your part in this miraculous journey. I am blessed, The “world” is blessed , We Are all but blessed for even the written word blessing carries concepts and ideas unfathomable to the seeking minds. It’s the closest we have so let’s go with it…for Now.
    LOVE
    Nettie

  10. So true – thank you Pam. One of the most exciting wonders of nature are the hedgepiggies 🦔🦔🦔 (probably even one more 🦔) visiting us every night and munching their dinner, leaving plenty of little smelly pressies for us 🦨- what’s not to love?? 😄
