I LOVE road trips with all my heart. I love seeing new sights, experiencing new places and finding things I had no idea even existed.
This weekend’s version included stumbling on to Free Cookie Friday, meeting a delightful Jamaican expat who runs a food truck in tiny Lamoni, Iowa and hiking across a high trestle bridge. And that was just the first few 24 hours.
Road trips also have a way of pushing the limits of what I’m able to imagine. All of us are shaped by what we perceive, what we allow ourselves to see. And once we define something, we’re blinded to the bigger truth of it. We literally reduce our apertures.
What I’m finding in my morning practice is that with a slight shift in awareness, the narrow band of awareness widens. I notice the whole world starting to hum.
It’s also becoming clearer to me that life doesn’t have to be the way we think it is. The division, the wars, the greed is just one system, one way of understanding the world. It’s far from a complete picture. Quite easily, we can begin to transcend this particular way of thinking.
And it starts with knowing that it doesn’t have to be this way. How often do we shrug and think, “Well that’s just the way it is.” “That’s just the way our system works.”
But is it really that way or have we limited what we can perceive?
The practice I’m doing now is opening a portal to something bigger. This Voice, as I guess I’ll call it today (I was relieved to recently learn that Hindus have 330 million different names for God) isn’t so much about getting answers, but about feeling a connection, a Divine Buzz, a different way of seeing the world.
The reason I chose the above headline is because I want any of you who are trying the 30-day experiment to know that there is no right or wrong way to do it. Wrong and right are just concepts that live in that narrow band of perception.

To the best of my knowledge, you take part simply by doing it… There is no place to “sign up” or anything. pam simply mentioned it and said to give it 30 days. So all you have to do is follow what was mentioned in the post and you’ll be taking part.

The Voice , God, Spirit, Divine Guidance, Holy Wow…is so beautiful and constant in my morning writings.
My goal is to stay clear longer each day as those pickpockets of thought try to rob me of my Holy Wow. But I love that I am dedicated to this work. I told a friend today, Faith, believing , knowing, I think is the greatest gift we can receive.
I stumble for sure, but I’m pretty good at getting back up.

I love this concept of ‘pickpockets of thought trying to rob me of my Holy Wow.’ That is an excellent and helpful image. I can imagine myself having zippered pockets that would be almost impossible to rob and therefore my joy, peace, contentment and love are safe. Thank you Kate. 🌷🌝

Profound indeed. It’s all about creating an intimate relationship with the presence, not about doing it right. Or like somebody else is doing it.
For the experiment, are we meant to write virtually anything that comes to mind, no matter how random? Or are we meant to imagine what the Dude might say to us?
I like imagining what the Dude is saying. Because some of the things that come to my human mind are not worth laying down in ink.

I woke up early and laid in bed for a couple of moments. I remembered hearing God’s voice. The voice was loving and kind. It suggested I restart my spiritual and healthy habits I forgot when I moved back into my condo. I did take a walk this morning which I enjoyed. I didn’t do many other things. Still, it is my thinking system as an important message.
My thinking system is kinda messed up. That’s why I love this voice that sees me only as perfect.

Thank you for the reassurance that there is no wrong way to do this practise. It’s up to each of us to find a way that works for us. Your initial ‘guidelines’ were helpful in getting us started but it’s good to know we’re free to fly in whatever direction this practise calls us. I’ve just finished day three’s communication and I’m having fun with it. 😁 Here’s to all things that help us see life from a new or different perspective, that open us up to possibilities we may never have considered before, and that remind us that we are always connected to The Divine in every moment. Thank you for your daily thoughts, ideas, perceptions. I am enjoying the 30 day experiment very much. On the first day, Spirit wanted me to focus on healthy boundaries and then I received a weekly email tarot card with the same message. It was a good validation that I am hearing Spirit in my writings. I look forward to gaining confidence and clarity, and turning this 30 day experiment into a lifelong ritual.

So this experiment is awesome.
I could list a few things from the last couple of days that have really amazed me, and some miracles that have been so frequently miraculous that they are becoming ho-hum.
But what I want to share is that there is a palpable presence here, a sense of peace, and what is so wonderful is a feeling of being loved and knowing what love is.
