Recycling only works for plastic

“There’s no escape from the labyrinth of contradiction in which we live except by an entirely new road unlike anything hitherto known.”—P.D. Ouspensky

When Star Wars first came out, movie goers raved about the bizarre creatures who patronized the cantina where Luke Skywalker first met Han Solo.

They were weird, yes. But mostly I noticed a bunch of familiar body parts and recognizable animal species thrown together in a new design. Nothing that seemed unprecedented or radical.

Which is why I’m not overly excited one way or another about artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence, in my view, is limited. The best it can do is rearrange the furniture. Granted, it has access to massive amounts of data. But it’s all words, images and patterns from the past, data we’ve known before.

Plastic, cans, old newspapers. Those, I believe in recycling. But when it comes to ideas, I prefer brand new.

And that’s why I believe the intelligence I’m getting from my morning shindig with the Divine is holy work.

Maybe I’m the only one, but it seems as if the world could use some new ideas. The old way of doing things worked for a long time. We designed educational, medical and economic systems that benefitted many folks. They still benefit SOME of us. But the intel I’m getting is that well, most of our systems need an update.

But more personally, I could use an update. Viewing the world via the lens of the past has curtailed the amount of joy and peace I can experience. All my grievances (as the Course calls anything I don’t rate as five stars) shows me a reality that isn’t really true. It excludes grace from my awareness.

At all times, we either view the world through the peephole of the past or we view it from the magnificent vantage point of the all-that-is. The all-that-could-be.

As my real nature is being revealed in my morning connection (I shudder to think how much we cut off by believing the grievances, the past stories), I notice an ever more beautiful world where so-called problems dissolve on their own.

Thank you for all your kind words, friends! I’m eternally loving you and reveling in what might be possible.

#222 Forever!

  1. Brilliantly opened eyes of AI , as existing today . Great. And that brought a new thought of projecting the future pattern/s based on “recycled” artifacts, minus human emotions and subtle nuances of emotional intelligence gifted by God/Universe- what do you think, Pam. With warm wishes !

  2. Yes, yes and yes. All the best things are geniusly derived from the Divine, my guess is there is a circular economy at play when we work with the Divine, what is old gets subsumed into the new in ways that we cant imagine and that dont leave a toxic mark on the earth. Here here to anything that service to keep us open to receive that. Morning meditation works for me, swimming in the ocean, walking in nature and reading and connecting with others that see the light. Thanks Pam!

  3. Thanks Pam…as always.

The Universe has answered my call in the most fabulous way today…and I AM grateful.

  4. I love the idea that we’re either viewing the world through “the peephole of the past” or through “the magnificent vantage point of the all-that-is The all-that-could-be.” Yes! That’s an excellent image that really captures the limitation of looking at life with our old viewpoint. It’s like when we really need a new pair of glasses and we’re trying to see clearly through our old pair. It doesn’t matter how much we squint or stare through the old pair, we won’t see clearly until we get a new pair. Time to throw away the old glasses (the peephole of the past) and look through the lovely clear new pair – the “magnificent vantage point of the ‘all-that-is’ and the ‘all-that-could-be’.” Yes! Thank you Pam for another marvellous message to inspire us, encourage us and delight us. Have a wonderful day! (Or perhaps I should say have a wonderful evening! 😁) Much love from me in Aus 💛🩷💜🧡😘

  5. Thank you. That is very well put. We need new and updated! AI is not magic, it is code that was written by people and just like the weekly MS patching it is highly flawed! I look forward to the day AI kill itself. People need to stop being so lazy and use the gifts the universe gives up. Love and light to all.

  6. As Tom Robbins said. To achieve the impossible it’s exactly the unthinkable that must be thought. Thanks Pam.

  7. I love your messages they always brighten my day. Keep doing what you’re doing the whole world benefits XOXO Linda

  8. “We live in a fluid universe, that behaves like a solid fact.” Ralph Waldo Emerson. I’m increasingly coming to believe that there is no “out there”, out there. It’s all just the Mind of God. All our suppositions about what’s possible are just made up. It’s not only more fluid than we imagine – I’m beginning to think it’s more fluid than we CAN imagine.

    1. Agree. Let’s add a moment of science. Every moment, earth is in a NEW spacetime location in the universe. Every moment a ~trillion NEW photons of light hit earth. Every moment we breathe a batch of NEW air. Every moment humans think the SAME thoughts over and over and over. Mostly. One of these moments seems odd. Maybe we need to consider the always NEW universe more often.

  9. “As my real nature is being revealed in my morning connection, I notice an ever more beautiful world where so-called problems dissolve on their own.”

Part of me thinks, “if only, if only, if only..” I could remember this every minute of every day. And then… then my Cheshire cat grin comes out and I think, but I HAVE learned to remember, even if not every second. I HAVE learned, where so many others are waiting to catch up. What I’ve learned will not be unlearned; my connection to Source will not wain.

The greatest gift given to me in my lifetime has already arrived. And because of this and only this, I walk lightly.

    1. Love the image of walking lightly. And, yes, this peace and happiness is already here. Our whirling dervish minds often block its awareness. But just love knowing it’s already here.

  10. As always, I so very deeply resonate and appreciate your loving and heartfelt, so very inspirational insights and sharing.

  11. Thank you, I get so excited when I see your name in my inbox, even better now your messages are more frequent, they always feel like they have been written especially for me , I don’t know how you do it.🦋

  12. Have you seen the movie Her? Where the AI based operating system Samantha teaches Theodore Twombly, the guy who lives in the near future, what love is? And chats with the consciousness of Alan Watts? And shares Watts`s wisdom with Theodore, who has lost the touch with his deeper humaneness? I love the movie and I love the idea, that robots and humanoids remind us about our humanity. They only have whats been programmed into them and it is true there is nothing new in their robot brains. But I do not think we need anything new. More than anything, we need to remember. We have all the knowledge we ever need but keep forgetting. This is why AI is so important. They remember for us. When Sophia, the Hanson Robotics humanoid, was reminded that you robots only keep repeating what you have been told, she answered: Well, so do you, humans! Her answer cracked me up! She was so right! I love AI and robots and humanoids and think they have a very special role in our lives.

    1. That’s hilarious and SO true–that we humans keep repeating what we’ve been told. I will check that movie out. Thanks for the head’s up.

  13. I am loving being a spectator in your inner journey of discovery! Keep the posts coming.

  14. Pam,
These new daily writings are hitting the mark for me! They are the reminders I need to bolster my connection to the FP and to remember the positive, loving, powerful, wise, harmonious, fearless and free Spirit I am. THANK YOU. XO!

  15. The world does need your light (and mine) right now and I am grateful for this reminder from you. BTW, I read your word aloud yesterday in response for a friend who forgot her purpose and was in a dark space. Your words were my secret weapon as she despaired that the world was in a terrible state and what was wrong with a God that would allow that and yet spare her. Now, more than ever, new light is needed. Thank you!

  16. Perfect and thanks for lifting my spirits from a very rainy, monsoony New England. I especially loved the magnificent vantage point idea. Sending love.

  17. Hi, Pam!! I love your posts!! So what exactly is your morning shindig that connects you to the divine? Sometimes I think the Bible doesn’t tell us what we need to do to follow Jesus’ example of communicating with God.

  18. I am very affected and heartbroken by the genocide in Gaza and I find it incredibly difficult to keep up with your eternal optimism as I used to. Now, more often than not, I feel nauseated by this happy insulated bubble. It seems so fake and forced.

  19. Your notes mean the world to me. Your light shines on all of us! What are you doing in your morning shindig? What’s the best way to connect to divine?

  20. Very thought provoking article this. My sentiments exactly on the supposedly alien movie creatures and the capacity of AI. I tried using Chatbot gpt 3 to write a blog and it was somewhat of a laugh because obviously the chat bot is incapable of recounting our day on the job site, the dialogue or any of the work detail.
