Expand what you believe is possible

“If you think bending spoons is cool, wait until you learn to bend your whole life.”—Martha Beck

Back in 1981, Bud Tribble, who at that time was a new hire at Apple, suggested that his boss possessed the superpower of creating “reality distortion fields.”

What he meant is that Steve Jobs could take what everyone else believed was utterly impossible and inspire his teams to do it anyway. Tribble said he got the term from an episode of Star Trek where aliens created new worlds using mental force.

What he didn’t bother to mention is that this same superpower is engrained in all of us. We all create our world, 100 percent of the time.  Except instead of using our imaginations and going for what others believe is impossible, we get up each day and compress our world back into the mold we used yesterday. And the day before that.

The Course in Miracles says it like this: “I see only the past.”

Talk about a waste of a superpower. We could literally imagine into existence a more beautiful, just and compassionate world, one that works for everyone. The past story of scarcity and separation is getting creaky and old. All the forces trying to hold it in place are literally falling apart.

That’s why it’s the perfect time to use our superpowers of imagination, creativity and love. If we refuse to fall for the story that impossible things can’t be done, we can literally regenerate everything.

But we have to give up our training, our rules, our old, sad story. Each of us is a whirlpool of individual consciousness inside a vast universal consciousness. If we can give up the past, meet each moment anew and ask for help from what I often call The Divine Buzz, things that were once dubbed impossible can become “well, duh!” Here’s to regeneration, imagination and peace. #222 Forever

  1. Thank you Pam, for this splendid reminder of our superpowers, that are actually wonderfully normal.

    1. That hits the nail on the head–manifestation is perfectly normal and doesn’t require all the steps we think it does. It can’t NOT happen.

  2. Thank you, truly eeded this today; was feeling overwhelmed about things not feeling quite ‘right’.

  3. Ahhhh here’s a fun one for you:

Last year I dreamed up a massive east-to-west coast road trip for my son and I to take, with extensive travel through the rockies, the coastal mountains finishing with a 15hr ferry ride from Prince Rupert, BC to Vancouver Island…but pandemic, the problem it being a one-way drive (6,000kms!!) and all the other logistical issues put it to bed.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago, a colleague moved (drove) across the country, worked remotely for a year, then bought his retirement home and is settling in there.

So…guess who’s delivering his car to him? Yup – my son and I leave in a few weeks. And we’re getting paid to do the trip!

    Reality Distortion reporting for duty!

  4. Well said Pam:

      1. You’re welcome, Pam! Isn’t knowing “What” you actually are just about the coolest thing…ever?! Who knew? Ha, “i” didn’t, until about four years ago. 🙏

  5. We are the generation of regeneration! And I like the word “generation” because it has meaning as both a noun and a verb here!!!

  7. So eloquently put! Your words are always so uplifting and always make me feel optimistic. Never give up your day job of spreading love and light😊

  8. Wow! This post really touched me. I’m in a rut with work and my relationships and of course let it slip out of my mind that I can create my own life. Thanks Pam lol

  9. I have to say the past few weeks I’ve been spacing out but each time I see this international passport which allows programs run in every country so that everyone is sharing and learning about each other’s cultures, songs, stories, and traditions. There is so much love and acceptance. Then reading this email I got goosebumps! I’m taking it as a sign! I always look forward to your emails, thank you so so much Pam!! With love from Australia!

  10. Wow, your posts are always so timely and give me the much needed nudge to basically get over myself and remember what is,possible – which is absolutely anything! That line from the course of miracles really got to me. “I only see the past.” Well, I’m imagining the beautiful chaos,of all our manifestations hugging each other other out in the universe. It’s so.much fun to see what we can come up with. Here’s to manifestations galore, imagination, regeneration and peace!

  11. Yay for the super powers of imagination, creativity and love. Thanks for the reminder that these tools are within each of us and that we all have what we need to live an amazing, joyful, abundant life. Amen and so it is. 🎉🎈💛🌺🥳

  12. Hi Pam,

Love your share! The quote you shared, in the beginning, is one of my favorites. It always gives me the right perspective and clears things up for me when I am too overwhelmed. Thanks a lot for reminding these things to us. Hearing from someone else really helps a lot. I will definitely try to put that into practice, and I hope I see some good changes in my routine. Thanks a lot for sharing your amazing thoughts with the readers, I have been learning a lot from them.
