“God has written a thousand promises all over the heart that say ‘life, life, life is far too sacred to ever end.”—Hafiz

Happy Friday, my beautiful friends.

I ran the following notice about next year’s 222 Foundation award on social media, but for those who may have missed it, here it is in a real, live blog post.

We want to give money away!!!!

The Taz Grout 222 Foundation was launched to honor Tasman McKay Grout who spent 25 short years on the planet inspiring everyone who knew her to live and love better. Everything she stood for was some variation of this theme: create relentlessly, love fiercely and do quiet, kind things for the underdog.

Every year on February 22 (2/22), the 222 Foundation awards a $12,222 grant to an innovative project or person with a big idea to change consciousness and therefore the world.

We look for projects that support the following ideas:

1. A change in perspective is our greatest need. We believe all people (no exceptions) long to be generous and create beautiful things.

2. Today’s hopelessness is based on false premises. We look to defy the old story of scarcity, lack and the need to fight for resources. We aim to prove that the universe, once liberated from no-longer-working paradigms of scarcity, is generative and endlessly abundant.

3. The us against them model is kaput. We believe all humans are interconnected and that even tiny actions have great significance.

If you or anyone you know has an idea to help bring about a change in consciousness, please consider applying for the 2022 grant. Just send a description of your big idea to taz.grout.222.foundation@gmail.com.

As a final thought for this gorgeous, lunar-eclipsing weekend, just remember that the single most important thing you could ever do to change the consciousness of the world is to be tender and merciful to yourself. You don’t have to check any boxes, win any awards or hold anything together. Just be friendly, kind and loving to yourself.

#222 Forever!

  3. Hi Pam,

It broke my heart when I heard Taz made her transition. I cried. I have a 25 year old daughter who looks similar to Taz. I want you to know I think of Taz every time I see anything 222. When I receive your emails, I whisper a little prayer for you and her. I opened your email today and my 23 year old son was looking over my shoulder. Today, he and I said a prayer out loud for you.

I have read most of your books. You write in such a unique way. I feel like I’m listening to a friend tell a story. It makes me laugh and smile. It is also so informative and educational.

Anyway, I just wanted to take the time to reach out to you today and let you know that you, Taz, and all that you do are on my mind and your spirit continues to inspire me.

Peace, blessings and Light Ahead on your journey! Have a great weekend💖

And I love that beautiful photo of you and Taz. 🥰 I agree that in changing the way we think about and treat ourselves, and by being kind and merciful to ourselves, we are helping to change the consciousness of the world, helping to make it a more loving, accepting, forgiving and generous place for us all.
