“The world will not be saved by old minds with new programs. If it’s saved, it will be saved by new minds with no programs at all.” — Daniel Quinn

I’m an awful lot like the cartoon character, Inspector Gadget. Remember the bumbling inspector who, yes, always saved the day, but had no clue it was actually his niece, Penny, and his dog, Brain, who did all the work?

Gadget got the credit even though it was his trusty compadres working behind the scenes that always thwarted the “bad guys.”

Despite what I think, I’m not really manning the dials.

Everything’s being arranged and taken care of by a friendly Universe that’s more immense and beautiful than anything my limited five senses can conceive. And the more I relinquish control, the more I surrender to the Dude, the more goodness I experience.

My brain, after all, is what Aldous Huxley called a “reducing valve.” It filters down to a trickle the overwhelming flood of information that’s coming at it. The trickle I perceive, like algorithms, merely matches what I’ve been “searching for.”

Making plans to fix this or do that really isn’t necessary. It’s counterproductive and, like Inspector Gadget and his best-laid plans, it doesn’t really work.

So instead, I rest peacefully, trusting that, behind the scenes, something a whole lot bigger than me is working everything out.

Tomorrow, I’m heading back to Ajijic and the Namaste community that I so love. I’ll be working on the new book, a new website and, of course, I’ll be in touch with ever more miracles.

In the meantime, I leave you with this beautiful video from the amazingly awesome Service Space. #222 Forever!

  1. My newest ‘mantra’ is Allow. Allow the Universe to run the show. Allow things to unfold as intended, not as I think they should unfold. At first, it was difficult to let go of my perceived ‘control’ over things. But it’s been absolutely amazing. Every time I think I need to step in and ‘handle things’ I stop myself and say ‘Allow’ and everything falls perfectly into place.
Thank you Pam for enlightening me five years ago with your incredible books. Don’t know where I’d be on my journey without you!

  2. Dear Pam- I am in the process of selling my home and all my stuff, and go walkabout. I plan to test your ideas and enjoy seeing what the Universe pops up with. And I have a bunch of friends in Ajijic, as well! Maybe our paths will cross one day.
Until then, Vaya con the Dude.
    Hugs,
    Shoshana

  5. What a great post, Pam! And just today, a patient was telling me about her plan to move out west. She is letting go of all anxiety and letting the universe do all the heavy lifting! Have fun on your next adventure, and keep us posted on the Miracles!

  6. I love the heading – “resting untroubled in the goodness of the Universe”. Just beautiful. And this sentence too: – “the more I relinquish control, the more I surrender to The Dude, the more goodness I experience.” Yes! Thankyou Pam for this timely reminder to “let go and let The Dude/The Universe/God” 😁⭐️💃☀️💛
