The wisdom of woo-woo

“I am what I pay attention to. I literally surrender my life force to it.”—Becca Brewer

In the corner of my living room sits a small black rock given to me by a bare-chested medicine man from the Cook Islands.

“Pa,” as he is known, plucked it out of a jungle river in the South Pacific Island, handed it to me and said, “Put this in the north corner of your living room and you’ll become a millionaire.”

I drink water from a blue glass bottle that I set outside in the sun to purify. This suggestion comes from Dr. Hew Len (the ho’oponono guy) who says “blue solar water” removes recurring and no-longer useful data running in my subconscious.

And I believe that every single hedgehog that shows up on the first of every month is sent to me by my precious Taz.

Admittedly, these techniques are rather unorthodox, definitely not something my accountant or my doctor would prescribe.

I follow them because I happen to know that reality is fluid and that wherever I put my mind, my finances, my body and my life will follow.

Beliefs and expectations are SO powerful that placebos (fake treatments like sugar pills, saline injections, and sham surgery) cause bald men to grow hair, high blood pressure to drop, ulcers to heal, dopamine levels to increase and even tumors to shrink. And although pharmaceutical companies would rather keep this on the down low, placebos relieve symptoms on par with real medication. Actual biochemical changes in the body make you wonder–—or it should—how “factual” facts really are?

So, yes, there are people who call me crazy, think I’m too woo-woo for drinking blue solar water and placing exotic black rocks in my home. But I don’t care.  I’m rather proud that I use the luminous superpower of my thoughts and beliefs to imagine, expand and create.

And while the verdict’s still out on the blue water (I DO notice I’m less and less interested in all sorts of cultural expectations), Pa’s rock, which I carried home in my suitcase, was added to my living room just a few months before E-Squared hit No#1`on the New York Times bestseller list, right before it was translated into some 40 languages.

I was visiting the Cook Islands for this travel assignment.

As Harvard researcher, Ellen Langer likes to say, “It is not our physical state that limits us. It is our mind-set about our own limits, our perceptions that draws the lines in the sand.” #222 Forever

  1. Pam, my house is filled with crystals I charged with the energy of the moon. I used to drink water from a blue bottle. I moved and forgot this practice. I kept my great cat alive for two hours until I got him to the vet’s office with Reiki. He would start to die and I filled him up with life energy. I did that over and over again until we got to the vet.

Reiki uses life energy. We are all energy. We forget who we really are. I also study ACIM.

    Blessings, Nancy

  2. Delicious, Pam! All about what we think and how often we think it 😍 love both of these men and their suggestions to you 😃 woot woot woo woo!!

  3. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that “woo woo” is the first part of “woot woot”… it’s been my experience that what we CELEBRATE well we get more of – just another way to focus…but with confetti!

    1. I love it, what a great thing to notice! This reminds me of one of Pam’s earlier blogs that tells about a child who kept “emergency confetti” in his pocket just in case he needed to celebrate something. 🙂

      1. Yeah, the “but with confetti” made me smile and encouraged me. Love it! And the “emergency confetti” of that child as well. Oh my, how sweet. And imagine what fun to actually do this :D. Thanks for the reminder!

  4. Thank you for your wise words I’m so glad I found you, currently reading one of your fabulous books. ❤️ From the uk

  5. Pam, I have a really cool story, I think I’ve talked to you about before, and I think the best thing I can do to get my confidence back up to finish my book is to write guest blogs. Do you do that? Do you have any recommendations?

Thanks and glad I ran across your book!

  6. What if we found out, after COVID-19 was eradicated, that we all received placebo vaccinations? How would the world respond? Would people believe in the power of their beliefs? Would it be the shift in consciousness we need? Would make an interesting movie.

  7. Thank you for this Pam! I’ve been called the Woo Woo Doc for a long time now – and its so nice to hear from others who understand and enjoy the allowing of the potential of possibilities to enter their consciousness. From one woo woo sister to another!! By the way, in my journey of life, I’ve been blessed with seeing numbers every where I go, all day long every day – so your 222 so resonates with me. I see 44, and 444 and 22 several times a day in a multitude of ways and I take enormous comfort knowing that my Angels and other guides are with me, loving me, and assisting me along on this journey!! Thank you for all you do and share! Nancy NANCY RIZZO Ph.D., Th.D., DABR*

  8. Yes! Wonderful! The power of belief is the real magic in our lives- whether it’s in special rocks or medicines or prayers or whatever. Thankyou for this fun and inspiring reminder that we have the power within us to create whatever it is we desire simply by believing it into reality. Amen. 💛💃🌺⭐️

      1. Oh! How lovely! You’ve just made my day Pam – and I’m grinning from ear to ear. Thankyou and blessings galore to you- my favourite blogger in the whole world 😁💃💛

  9. Hey Pam I want to tell you that last Friday after I went shopping after work, I went to buy some hamburger for me and my mother at a Wendy restaurant. And when you buy at a restaurant like Wendy, they give you a number that identifies you. well At the Wendy restaurant I got the number 2229, Yes the 222 from Taz and I told the woman who served me all about you and your Ebook and your book a Course in Miracles. Later after supper I go online and watch my shows that I taped on my PVR. On Friday night I stay late and I also fall asleep on my Computer chair, and when I woke up in my chair I check the time and was surprised to see that it was 2:22 AM. I view that as Taz telling me to go to bed which I did. so I got 222 twice in one day and I find that awesome. what do you think Pam?

  10. Dear Pam, you speak the truth! Keep it coming, we all need this kind of support and validation and comrade ! Yay Many Thanks and yes I constantly see 222 as well as 1212 (Sal) Much love always my friend.

  11. Thank-you Pam for sharing your take on woo woo. Over riding my old beliefs is an ongoing journey. A moment by moment journey with excellent results to my state of joy.
I am a student of Dear Dr. Wayne Dyer for the last 40 plus years. A brilliant Dr. Of the mind who wrote in his book Real Magic, “With real magic thinking you can leave behind the old conditioned hypnosis and see that those who have surpassed seemingly insurmountable conditions. Then you can leave schizophrenia behind and over come manic-depression and another can become a physician in spite of being told he was dyslexic. You can become the personality that you want to be.” I know of your love for his teachings.

  12. The Ellen Langer quote is right on. And what most people don’t realize is so much of our mindset, our perceptions lie beneath our everyday waking awareness. I “accidentally” discovered this when I started using hypnotherapy to help me address chronic issues with food and weight. I love all things woo, even though I may not fully understand so much of it.

  13. I am DELIGHTED that you ascribe to woo-woo, drink blue solar water, and place exotic black rocks in your home. I read your books and your blog BECAUSE you use the “luminous super power of [your] thoughts and beliefs to imagine, expand, and create.” Thank you, thank you, thank you for being you and sharing that with the world.

  14. Well if I had that black rock I would definitely use it that way also but I can drink water from blue glass. Thank you.
