Why you should always invite the universe to pull rabbits out of hats

“There’s no reason to have a Plan B because it distracts from Plan A.”–Will Smith

I just returned from the 7500-island country of the Philippines. I spoke to the Pampanga Medical Society, gave a couple playshops and had an amazingly awesome time. Some of you may have seen a few of the pictures on Facebook. Among other fun things, I got wrapped in mud, ate a delicacy called kamaru (crunchy fried crickets) and rode bamboo bikes around a moat that was filled in and turned into a golf course.

In two days, I’m heading to Verona, Italy to write about the pasta maker Giovanni Rana. So I thought I’d run a blog post I wrote in 2013. Enjoy!

“The second I decide something is done, it’s done. I just have to wait for all y’all to see it.”—Will Smith

Or in many of our cases, we have to wait for ourselves to see it. The minute we make any intention, it’s real, it’s a viable creation. But until we can feel it and actually “be it,” our intention stays on a vibrational plane that’s out of our sight.

Making intentions isn’t the problem. What you’ve been intending is already present. It’s just that you and me and everybody else is stubborn enough that we keep staring at its lack. Until we can catch up vibrationally, we are unable to see and enjoy our fabulous creations.

As Esther Hicks likes to say, “We’ve already created enough joy and happiness for 20 or 30 lifetimes.”

I hope this is a comforting thought. That our only responsibility is to get ourselves tuned into the joyful vibration where blessings flow, to begin resonating to the vibrational catalog of fun, love and laughter. We literally have to distract ourselves from all thoughts and emotions that block the natural flow.

Most of us are really good at the first part of the equation. Making the intention. But the second part, the part where we get out of our own way and allow love and joy and the new Mercedes Benz into our sphere of awareness is not so familiar to us.

So for right now, forget about your intentions. Just focus on every brilliant, juicy, fun delicious thought you can think of. Be grateful for every little thing. That’s everything that even remotely resembles your intention and everything that doesn’t. When joy is the dominant emotion, you’ll be able to pull good things out of the air like magicians pull rabbits out of hats.

  1. Hi Pam
I have worked for nearly 5 years on my Doctorate and my research findings are amazing – I just can’t get around to writing it up to get my award. I’m 68 in July and this is blocking my enjoyment of life. I need a kick start. Ann

  2. Right now I am enjoying every sip of water of a glass tumbler. Local FM radio playing some songs have immensely contributed to my delight furthering its heights to a new level. Really, I have learnt how to enjoy every moment despite all “odds”.

The other day, when a gentleman saw me getting happier wanted to know the reasons behind it. My answer was “the sun that gloriously shining makes me feel high”. His distorted face to my claim had him swallow the pill of disbelief. I reminded him of how many millions of people at the time of our conversation were deprived of the nature’s bounty.

His naive nod was enough for me to understand his acknowledgement. I wrapped up the talk bringing back his attention to mostly forgotten breathing.

Thank you Pam you have taught me how to enjoy the little things and remain attuned with the Universe. Thank you so much.

  3. Thanks, as always, Pam! My family has had a VERY challenging week, but I have kept expecting miracles and trusting the Universe. As usual, it’s working very well. Have a great time in Italy. xox

  4. Thank you Pam as always. What a delightful article. I just keep on noticing the beauty all around me & that includes the quiet in my home & lovely neighborhood. Just took a walk on this 1st day of Spring. Snow still on the ground, sun is shinning brightly, birds are singing. Have a wonderful time in Italy.

  5. Sometimes you get blindsided and disrespected by someone you care about who you never thought would hurt you. I am trying to crawl out of that hole. I know there is someone better for me but it still hurts.

  6. Thank you for your column and your help in staying positive. I am looking toward more success in my work life and did enjoy a small success this spring. I just love the way you keep saying it is out there for us.

    Mary

  7. Amazing! During my walks this week, what am I listening to? Abraham, Wayne Dyer. The Uv’s magic hat tricks this week of a pink balloon, a banana and most of all polor bear all appeared withing the week. I loved how you write and put it all together just where I am vibrating. Thank you.

  8. Thanks as usual for reminding me to just be a “happy camper.” When I do that, the manifestations come to me so fast and furious I can’t keep track of them.

  9. I’m Peruvian my name is fiore , before don’t read your emails because don’t believe this , I’m learning English , want to known than I’m happy reading your post and believe in my , thanks and hope meet

  10. I always enjoy reading your posts. Full of little reminders. It’s funny how we know all this stuff about vibrations and how we create everything we experience and yet it is so hard not to react when something doesn’t go as planned. When it only means that something better is on its way. 🙂 xx

    1. I agree,it’s really difficult also for me to keep my vibes hig, exspecially when things go wrong. How long do we have to keep a positive vibe to get what we asked for?
