It’s alive! Whatever you put your attention upon becomes alive!

“Let’s live, baby. Let’s feel alive at all times. Make this moment your reckoning. Your head has been held under water for too long and now it is time to rise up and take your first true breath.”― Brian Krans

Kids’ computer games have undoubtedly evolved since my daughter Taz played them on the giant desktop (compared to today’s laptops, that early Gateway is a veritable behemoth) in my office.

But back then, she had several games where, by pointing a cursor at an item in a scene, it would came alive. For example, if she clicked on a cupboard door, it would open, music would play and a duet of dancing mice would pirouette across the shelf. Or she’d click on a flowerpot and it would shimmy and shake until its beautiful red petals rained to the ground.

Life is a little like those old computer games. When you put your attention on something, it literally comes alive. If you put your cursor on all the opportunities and love in the scenes of your life, that reality comes alive. But if you continue to click on the monsters under the bed, they, too, are more than happy to put in an appearance. The thing is we’re the ones manning the dials. We’re the ones deciding where to point our cursors, where to send our attention.

Here’s something that drew my attention last year. I loved it and like to re-run it every now and again, because it’s a good start to a weekend that better include dancing.

  1. Hilarious! I might try this is Aussie Land. I’ll start off small and dance the office…….

  2. Thank you Pam! I never saw that video before and I laughed until I cried and then I sent it on to my mom. Also love the idea: It’s Alive! I sure feel alive after that laugh. Great. What a terrific post!

  3. Anytime I focus on positive things or try to be positive, that’s when the sh** intensifies and I have to deal with alot of crap. What’s that all about??? For real.

    1. Hi, MLC.

I inadvertently created a filter that hid my WordPress (Pam Grout) posts, so just now catching-up.

Anyway, recognizing the “crap” once served a purpose – keeping things the same (a perceived form of safety) – may be helpful. Now it comes-up to “keep things the same” when change is threatening.

Do you want a new purpose? Let the old stuff reappear, but (mentally) decide to let it go.

  4. It’s awesome video!

Man, it gave me the greatest vibes of happiness I was calling out for today.

    Because it’s true…

On whatever you put your courser to… it starts to really dance with you.

    Thanks, Pam.

  5. I love your reminders of the magic in life, always. Ever since I read the first chapter of E cubed, I have been starting my day almost every morning, leaping out of bed into the SNL superstar pose (had to put my own spin on it) followed by some seriously clumsy dancing to the bathroom… it works (Thank you). What I love about this post today is it comes following a rough week, which led me to some interesting choices which eventually came to me consciously uncoupling from my big “impossible” dream. I stopped believing, I stopped writing in my synchronicity journal each time a sign appeared to tell me the universe was listening and told it to just go away… to stop teasing me. Then last night, I had a dream that my big “impossible” dream was following me around- no matter how high I climbed, no matter which bus or airplane I boarded to escape the “impossible,” it followed me, saying, “I don’t want you to stop believing… don’t let me go…”

Now, I read this post and I can’t help but think it’s a sign from the Universe to simply keep my attention on the “impossible” because it will open up.. it will come alive… because I’m possible.

Anyway, thanks for all you do.

    Happy Sunday,
    Lindsey

PS- I think I might try to coax my co-workers to have a dance/walk party with me one day downtown… we’ve discussed a possible flash mob… but I think this would be cooler. 🙂

  6. Pam, by trusting the universe and myself.. i got my cat back after 2 days. we live in a house surrounded by trees on one side and a main road on the other. 2 days ago my cat went out and didnt return (she usually returns home in 10-15 mins, but this time she didnt return) so we were all worried about where could she go, did someone take her (as she is really cute) or did some animal attack her.. is she alive..or is she wounded.. or is she being treated nicely by the thieves.. etc etc.. the whole day went in worries and we searched the whole big colony for her, asking everyone if they had seen her. Finally after looking for her even on the next day, i decided to leave it to the universe., i decided to trust myself, send her good vibes, and let her go. I even acted ‘as if’ and wrote down the story in the ‘as if ‘ format. I let her go, and i felt the relief that she is fine. The same evening i had to go out.. and beneath my car, she was sitting.. happily, peacefully.. as if she was smiling.
