“Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.” –Helen Keller
While I was hot air ballooning over Albuquerque last Friday, looking out over the Rio Grande Valley for what my balloon pilot described as 100 miles, I thought “I must be the luckiest person on the planet.” Not only do I regularly get to do the most awesome things, but I stay at five-star hotels, get treated to scrumptious meals (complete with dessert and cocktails) and meet what I consider to be the world’s most fascinating people. I shared my gratitude about “being so lucky” with my Vortex group on Sunday and my friend Linda pointed out there’s scientific proof that “feeling lucky” brings good rushing to your doorstep.
She cited a study at Stanford University where students were divided into two groups: those who identified themselves as being lucky and those who said they weren’t. Both groups were given a newspaper section and asked to count the number of pictures. The “lucky group” reported seeing 41 pictures. The “unlucky group” didn’t come close. Not one of them.
As it turns out, there was a line on the last page of the newspaper section that said, “Tell your professor you saw 41 pictures.” Every one of the self-identified lucky students, the ones who perceive themselves as drawing good fortune to their lives, noticed that little tip. Not one of the “unlucky” students was “lucky enough” to see it.
Coincidence? I don’t think so. That study, done by one of the top research universities in the country, more or less proves my Volkswagen Jetta principle: You impact the field and draw from it according to your beliefs and expectations.
Gratitude, feeling lucky, seeking things to be thankful for results in abundance. By focusing on positives, on how lucky and blessed you are, you will be rewarded not only with great drugs (neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin and other feel-good chemicals), but your neural pathways will sculpt a path to even more good things. We truly receive whatever we focus upon.
Tell me in the comments section below. Why are you the luckiest person on the planet?

I am the luckiest person in the world because I know how the world works and I live like it. (Many people say they do, but don’t actually live it.) My love and appreciation for life and everything in it guarantee’s my happiness and success. Life is fun and exciting and I can’t even believe how lucky I am to be here now. YES!!! Great post, Pam! Thank you. XO
I am the luckiest in the world because I am a people magnet. I meet some of the most nicest, kindest, funniest and the most interesting people. We immediately hit if off. They love being around me and my energy. I have been told this. With eveyone I have met a feel a connection ; it could be small and fleeting met only for a moment or long and deep. I have the best friends who are there for me and I am there for them. It feels so good to connect with people who are wonderful! I know that I have manifested these wonderful beings into my life! I love it! Thank you Pam. P.S MY dear abby experiment worked. ( I knew it would )
The reason of my great luck is that I understood how I did create my life and I learned how to deliberately create a new life, as I wish it to be.
I am the luckiest person in the world because I attracted a wonderful husband a four fabulous children and the ability to work when I want and play when I want and spend time with my family and totally enjoy it. I am the luckiest person in the world because I know how I created it and I will keep creating what I want. 🙂
I’m the luckiest person in the world because I have learned that blessings abound in this universe and need only be discovered to be activated in my life. So I am a miner of blessings, willingly digging in the most unlikely places, including in, around and under challenges of every kind. As a result, I find nuggets of blessing everywhere. I’ve been doing it so long now, in fact, that the blessings are almost impossible for me to miss.
Thank you so much for this post, Pam. I count it among my blessing discoveries for the day. In return, may you be blessed with all things good.
Kate Nowak, I’ve been trying to find you for several years. You worked with me during a very difficult time in my life..
I am the luckiest person in the world because I get to live and learn and unlock new ideas and solutions every day to make the world a better place.
Question that came up for me: How do you make your mental/spiritual “container” big enough for all the goodness? I find myself in a runneth over situation and then I feel unbalanced. Thanks so much.
And thank you too for the WONDERFUL comments above.
Read the comments under the post, great ideas for our EQ’s and just intending to be that.

Oops, I accidently cut and pasted something I was sending to someone else. Here’s your laugh for the day. 🙂
I’m the luckiest person in the world because I know that my life is not just a random set of events that happen to me. I used to think so and think, “why me?”. Now I know better and am not a victim to said events, but am in control of what happens in my life. And when something comes about that I’m not happy with, I know I created that and right away I’m empowered and feel so much better about the situation. I’m so lucky because I see and live life as if this is all a game and even if we “lose”, we can always do it over. Life is so much fun and I’m having fun playing and creating, with wonderful people.
I’m the luckiest person in the world because I get everything I need and when I get the things (or situations, or people, or etc) that I want, it’s usually better than I asked for. Also, my life is wonderful. And I’m about to have ice cream.

I am the luckiest person on the planet cos I found this blog, cos I read it this morning, cos my descendants are healthy and getting happier and cos I wanted to live by the sea then luckily came across a system that made that easy and here I am..living near the sea
I am the luckiest person in the world because I can afford the things that are important to me. I understand that I create my life, I have a vision of where I want to go and it is evident that everything is falling into place for me to get there soon. I have the most wonderful, happy, healthy children and wonderful friends who root for my success. I have a great caregiver who loves and takes care of my children like they are her own when I am away at work. I am happy and healthy and wealthy and loved!
I am the luckiest person alive in the world because my understanding that I create my life has me get the things I want…even if I don’t buy them, or actively pursue them they somehow come into my life. They literally fall from the sky into my life. And I am lucky that I appreciate the good things in my life as they are in my life right now.
What a great concept–things falling from the sky! I LOVE it!!
I’m the luckiest person in the world because I’ve discovered you. I feel fortunissimo to get to frolic amongst your thought bubbles.
Thank you Jeannette — from the Good Vibe Blog — for making the introduction!
Your are welcome in my thought bubble any day! Thanks for your kind kudos!!
I am the luckiest person in the world, because I get so much help. I was never in need of help when it didn’t arrive – from all sorts of sources, known and unknown. Let’s say last week: I was in London, returning to my home in Ireland, and I was on the platform in Holborn waiting for the tube to Heathrow. I thought every train from that platform went to the airport, so I got up and headed for the door. And this nice man whom I had never met before tapped me on the shoulder and told me this train would not bring me to Heathrow, and told me which one would. Now how about that? That happens all the time. I am lucky, and I am so grateful.
Love this piece, it makes me rethink the way I look at my work, travel and life. I am the luckiest person in the world, simply because I get to do what I love most – travel – and meet inspiring people like you. 😉
I truly am the luckiest person in the Universe. I have learned so many lesson and am not afraid to take healthy risks. I know that nothing is free and that what we desire is only acquired through hard work. I also know that everything I need has already been given to me, I simply need to pay attention. I grow from pain and enjoy the pleasure this life has gifted me. I realize I have much more contol over my life and my life only, it is though the thoughts I feed. What i feed will grow. I am loved and return it. I am blessed and don’t take it for granted. When I feel fear, I don’t let it take over. I know in my heart I have nothing to be afraid of. I have always been loved and always been cared for. Always. Whether it is when I’m driving and not paying attention or when I am trying to find the right answer and it appears in a dream. I trust my instincts but believe that I am being guided by something much greater than myself as well. I look, listen, and respond. I know it is all a gift and that everything in this life is happening for, not to me. The lessons I learn are removed from me so that I can learn new ones. I know that death is a part of life and a spiritual experience, and I am okay with it.I know that you can never be separated from that which you love. And so I love so fully and deeply. I cherish nature and simplicity. I love my wrinkles and scars because they are a part of me. I realize that we are all connected somehow and that you too are the luckiest person in the Universe!
Hello. I don’t know why but from the day I was born I was always the luckiest person in the world. When I was small people was amused how I always see the good side of the things and was worried that im not processing the reality like they see it. Im 40 now end nothing is changed. Im STEEL THE LUCKIEST POSITION IN THE WORLD. I don’t care what I process or what I dont I know that live loves me big time…🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
