The most dangerous 4-letter word in the English language

“Once you get your thinking clean, you can move mountains.”—Steve Jobs

We were talking about New Year’s resolutions in one of my power posses last week. It reminded me of this blog post I wrote several years ago.

Today, I’d like to address the most dangerous four-letter word in the English language. This word that I’ve specifically banned from my vocabulary is especially damning when combined with something you’re trying to do: lose weight, attract money, get a hot date.

The word is “hard,” as in “It’s hard to……”

You know you’ve said it:

“It’s hard to change old habits.”
“It’s hard to find a better job.”
“It’s hard to empty my mind when meditating.”

Because our beliefs are so powerful, literally sculpting our lives on a
moment-by-moment basis, to believe (and especially to say out loud) that anything is difficult is extremely counterproductive.

Still, even those of us who know about (and happily use) the power of our thoughts sometimes speak that ugly word.

I prefer the words “smooth” and “easy” and repeat those beautiful sentiments as often as I can.

I affirm that whatever I want to accomplish is smooth and easy. In fact, the less I do, the better things turn out. The more I hand over to the universe (the field of potentiality that is SO much smarter than me), the better my life becomes.

Because I occasionally still see limitations, still believe the headlines, still believe in old school conditioning, I’m much better off affirming smooth and easy and turning things over to the big guy.

A friend of mine, by simply changing her phraseology, has lost 18 pounds in the last month. She hasn’t changed her diet or started a new exercise program. She simply started believing that losing weight is easy, a piece of cake.

What diet program (or New Year’s resolution) could be more simple or doable than that?

  1. What a great reminder! I love this, especially: “I affirm that whatever I want to accomplish is smooth and easy. In fact, the less I do, the better things turn out. The more I hand over to the universe (the field of potentiality that is SO much smarter than me), the better my life becomes.”

Here’s to a smooth 2017, full of ease!

Thanks, Pam, for always starting my day out right. 🙂

  2. Boy did I need this today. I’ve gained over 30 pounds in the last two years since I bought my house and different family members thought it was ok to move in with me since I have an “extra” room. Getting the last one out next week and have decided the extra weight will just disappear effortlessly. I had the mindset that since I was born 14 pounds, I was always going to struggle with it and I have. No more dieting. This year will be one of reading books that lift and assist and doing more creative work including writing. I’ve missed that. Still hoping to find my own posse.

  4. Today I listened again what Dr Joe Dispenza said about creating in the 3rd vs creating in the 5th dimension. While in the 3rd dimension of space it is difficult and takes time, in the 5th dimension (in our mind) it is much easier. You formulate clearly what you want (your intention) and then see it and feel it in your mind as like having it already in the present. That’s it! Without forcing action, you’ll get easily insights about what to do to manifest your desire. It reminds me also of your reader’s story with “what the bananas!” (love it, by the way!)
Wishing you easy and miraculous manifestation in 2017! <3

  5. I wish I could share this with so many of my friends.  Right now I hear “hard” so often it feels like a hammer, going bonk, bonk, bonk.  Smooth and easy are my new words for 2017.  Thanks, Pam Jaquith Travis – Art by Jaquith “A mind once stretched by a new idea can never go back to its original dimensions” Albert EinsteinChange fear to open-mindedness and relaxation.  Live every day fully as if it were your last day on earth.  It just might be. – Great love and great achievements involve great risk The Dalai Lama

  6. Thank you for the reminder Pam…
It’s so easy to say hard that it’s easy to forget…
In the future I am also going to try and not to say the word spend… Instead I will try and use the word circulate… Meaning my money will circulate back to me…
Yes I have been listening to the awesome Rev. Ike on YouTube…

  7. Hi Pam,

First of all I want to THANK YOU for giving so much to so many.

A few days ago I bought ”Thank & Grow Rich”. My 4 year old grand daughter was staying over for a couple of days and she was playing while I picked up the book to start reading. She saw me holding the book and demanded me to hand it over. I did, thinking that the golden letters and the cat on the cover made her curious. But no! She opens the book and ”reads” : “IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE – RECEIVE!” looks at me and hands me back my book!

Well that says it all! It is as simple as that – a child knows that. I will read the book just as a reminder….

    With love and gratitude, Christel
