Why aren’t we awesomer?–a guest Ted talk by Michael Neill

“Think left and think right and think low and think high! Oh the things you can think up if only you try!” –Dr. Seuss

In the dining hall at my daughter’s college the other day, a student stood up, clinked his drinking glass with a spoon and said, “Attention please. I have an important announcement.”

With everybody looking, he went on to say, “I just want you to know that I feel really awesome today and I’d feel even more awesome if everybody would stand up and hug the person next to you.”

I love that story and I also love this Ted Talk, called “Why Aren’t We Awesomer?”

It’s by Michael Neill who is one of the many people I get to meet the next two weekends at I Can Do It! events in Rotterdam and London.

Dr. Joe Dispenza, Anita Moorjani, Mike Dooley and Lynn McTaggert will all be there. I mean, these are authors whose books I have read and LOVED and getting to present on the same stage is about as exciting as it gets for a girl from small-town Kansas.

I think ICDI organizers are calling my talk, “How to Make Your Wish Come True in 48 Hours” which is a compelling title, but I’m actually conducting a Reverse Finishing School, meaning I’m planning to reverse all the “things” we learned from our culture, most of which are wrong. I’m hoping to take us back to our childhoods when we knew how awesome we were.

In the meantime, enjoy this awesome Ted talk:
