5 simple words that will stop complainers and other miscellaneous whiners in their tracks

“You can’t depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.”—Mark Twain

As y’all know, I love my local power posses. Every single time, I get newly-inspired and learn cool stuff.

Last week, my friend Cindy shared this super-easy (and powerfully effective) tactic for steering conversations away from negativity.

When somebody is droning on about everything that’s going wrong in their life, simply ask this question:

“What do you want to happen?”

It works surprisingly well no matter what the person’s spiritual beliefs. If you say, “I’ll pray for you” or “Let the universe handle it” or my fallback line: “What you focus upon expands,” they might roll their eyes or even hit you.

But nobody can find a grievance in these five words. And it works like a veritable superchamp in steering conversations back to “what might be possible.”
