I LOVE all the E-Cubed selfies that are coming in. It’s so exciting to see everyone’s vision for a new 2015.
The one featured here is photoshopped from Marcella from Italy who wants to meet Jon Kabat-Zinn.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m incredibly blessed, so spectacularly lucky because I get reminders every single day about how bountiful the universe is. I get emails from readers who tell me their amazing stories.

Here are just a couple that have come in over the past few days:

From Fleur:

“My girlfriend told me about your first book but my local bookstore only had your new book so I google E2 vs E3 and watched only one video which was a minute long of an American man saying in the first book you do experiments where you for example say you’re going to see red Cadillacs and I had a fleeting thought of “well you wouldn’t say that here in Australia because we don’t have Cadillacs” then went on with my day.

“The next day I sat down and asked the universe to send me a sign that my visualizations were indeed in the making. I asked for a sign over the weekend that would leave me no doubt that it was from the Universe,

“Well about 30 minutes later I looked out the window and there stopped in front of our house was a blue Cadillac! Left hand drive and all! He then backed up into our neighbours driveway. I actually went out side to check I wasn’t imagining it.

“What makes this even more awesome is that we live in a gated community..at the end of a cul de sac! I see a maximum of about 5 cars a day and I know 4 out of 5 of those!

“It REALLY made me laugh 🙂 And believe.”

From Joe:

Hi! Just letting you know that within less than 12 hours of me purchasing E2 and trying out the first experiment, I stumbled across the answer to a question I have been trying to discover for over a year. Truly amazed. Can’t wait to delve deeper! “

From Alissa:

“I have a bone to pick with you!…. Your book got me pregnant!… By page 40!

“I just got esquared and tried the first experiment the first day I got the book. So, experiment one, I asked for an unmistakable unexpected blessing within 48 hours. This is Wednesday, 1.30pm, so my deadline is Friday 16th January 1.30pm (today)Ha ha!! This is so funny.

“So as soon i as start reading the book I start to radiate light, love and happiness for the first time in several months. It caused an end to my gloom and I really started feeling positive. I walk down the street literally beaming from one ear to the next, a bit excited about my surprise. That night I pick up the newspaper and go to the car section to pull it out to cover the table with so my daughter can paint- what does it say on the cover page? In huge letters? Feeling positive. I laugh out loud and feel grateful for this affirmation.

“The next day I get a voicemail from my partner with a beautiful heartfelt message telling me he loves me and thinks I’m an amazing mother. So I think, ok, I’ve had a lovely affirmation and that is certainly an unexpected blessing (my partner rarely leaves messages like that and is a lot more hands than heart normally). But part of me thinks maybe there might be something more to come by Friday. It gets to Friday. I check the mail, check my phone, check my emails….nope, no unexpected blessings there.

“My period is late (but only by one day) my boobs are sore, I’m feeling nauseous. The possibility of being pregnant seems as likely in my mind as snow falling during a fiery summer heat wave ….my partner and I have only had sex twice in the last three weeks… and we used contraception. I think about it…An unexpected blessing… Hmmm… I decide it’s crazy but I will get a pregnancy test and decide to wait till my partner gets home so we can do it together. I go out to the shops, get the test and come home. And guess what? We cannot believe our eyes… It’s positive! And guess what time it is? To.the.minute…1.30pm Friday 16th January.

“It has been my hearts desire to have another child for years but after a failed pregnancy we have been waiting for the perfect time. Which, it seems God has chosen is now! “

And since it’s Friday, it’s time for another video. Have the best weekend of your life. And remember, it better have dancing.

“I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.”– George Washington Carver

You might remember that quote from E-Cubed. It’s in the experiment about getting an important message from the natural world, the one about the Divine 24/7 Buzz.

In that chapter, I also mention the herd of African elephants who showed up at the home of their former advocate to pay respects after his untimely death.

Lawrence Anthony was a conservationist, an environmentalist, an author and he saved this particular herd of rogue elephants from slaughter at his Thula Thula game reserve in South Africa. You might have heard about his valiant effort during the Iraq war to save the animals at the Baghdad Zoo.

When he died unexpectedly of a heart attack on March 2, 2012, two herd of wild elephants that he rescued and rehabilitated somehow knew and trekked 12 hours through the Zululand bush, formed a circle around his home and honored him for an entire 48 hours. They hadn’t actually seen him in 18 months. How did they know?

The elephants, like all of us, are connected to this big universal life force, this Divine Buzz that wants to connect with us, wants to guide us, wants to bestow blessings.

Anymore, that’s about the only thing I’m interested in—the rest, as Einstein said, is just details.

Speaking of details, don’t forget to enter the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge. By tagging your selfies to my Facebook fan page, you’ll be entered to win such prizes as a cruise to Alaska and tickets to the four North American I Can Do It conferences.

I’ll be speaking at the upcoming Denver event in April and, if you’re so inclined, you can get your tickets here.

Take this easy quiz: How proficient are you at using the Law of Attraction?

“Over-explanation separates us from astonishment.”–Eugene Ionesco

If you didn’t catch this LOA quiz I wrote for the Good Vibe blog, here’s your big chance. I’ll be talking with Jeannette Maw, host of this groovy online party, at 4 EST this afternoon. Come say “hi!”

And now for the very first LOA quiz, run for the very second time:

When I was a teenager, I loved the quizzes in Seventeen magazine. I couldn’t wait to find out:

“Which fashion style best suits your taste?”

“What is your party personality?”

“Is he THE ONE?”

Even now, a day rarely goes by without one of my Facebook friends reporting the results of “Which member of the Beatles they are” or “Which Oprah quote should be their mantra.”

These quizzes are all in good fun and since good, delightful fun is one of my mantras (I didn’t even need Oprah to help figure that out), I’ve come up with the world’s first Law of Attractions Quiz.

To find out how adept you are at using this all-powerful law of the universe, answer these four questions:

1. Do you believe your thoughts create your reality?

a. Some of the time

b. All of the time

c. Only when you repeat an affirmation 568 times, visualize at least an hour a day and pray non-stop to a higher diety

d. Are you kidding me? I never get what I want.

2. Which of the following statements best matches your opening thought most mornings:

a. Oh shit, not again!

b. Yee-haw! A new opportunity for another Oscar-worthy production

c. Dang! Where is that hot brunette I was just dreaming about.

d. I’ve got to pee.

3. Which of the following most accurately describes your take on life:

a. It sucks and then you die.

b. It’s a test for what’s going to happen after you die.

c. It’s like an amusement park ride, sometimes exciting and sometimes it makes you want to die.

d. It’s a beautiful romp and death? It’s just a temporary illusory bump.

4. The universe is:

a. Limitless

b. Abundant

c. Strangely accommodating

d. All of the above.

Check your score here:

1. If most of your answers were “A”: You are a powerful creator, constantly using the law of attraction.

2. If most of your answers were “B”: You are a powerful creator, constantly using the law of attraction.

3. If most of your answers were “C”: You are a powerful creator, constantly using the law of attraction.

4. If most of your answers were “D”: You are a powerful creator, constantly using the law of attraction.

5. If you didn’t even take the quiz: You are a powerful creator, constantly using the law of attraction.

Okay, so it was a trick quiz. And I could have just told you going in: You can’t NOT use the law of attraction. To question whether or not you do is like questioning whether or not you use gravity.

So here are three questions I actually like better:

1. Given the fact that your thoughts, beliefs and expectations play the starring role in your life experience, did you get up this morning and consciously create your day?

2. Did you get up this morning and purposely decide what kind of day you were going to have?

3. If not, what’s stopping you?

Who needs a guru when you have a power posse?

“Worry is a misuse of the imagination.”—quote by Dan Zadra that I’ve always loved, but had forgotten until I was reminded of it by Cindy from my Sunday posse

I’ve repeated this at least as many times as you’ve heard Uptown Funk** this week. I cherish, adore, love and appreciate the beloved friends who I get together with every week when I’m in town. This is a group of brilliant lights who happen to know they’re brilliant lights, who live and act like brilliant lights. Lots of folks haven’t learned that tiny, but oh-so-vital piece of universal intelligence.

I, for one, woke up this morning doing everything I know not to do and doing none of the things I know to do. I didn’t consciously create my day, I didn’t repeat my Amazingly Awesome affirmation and, heck, I almost didn’t even go to my group. I was slightly mopey, worrying about my daughter’s semester in Costa Rica, feeling guilty because I’m less-than-perfect. You know, the typical effed-up human thoughts that are only as true as the energy I put into them.

So I walked in late and just seeing the faces of all these beautiful human beings who were deep into meditation completely shifted my nonsensical thinking. By the end of the group, I was swing dancing with Trina.

So here’s the thing I keep saying. It’s imperative to do this high-vibe business with others who are a) committed to bringing their best game b) who know the only thing worth talking about is what’s working and c) who know that we are ALL beautiful lights with beautiful ideas to change the world.

To paraphrase Tiny Tim, “Thank you, everyone ONE.” For bringing it (the light, that is). For believing that together, arm in arm, heart to heart, we CAN change the dominant paradigm.

I love you all.

The four major stages of reality-shaping consciousness–where’s your tent pitched?

“Being spiritual has nothing to do with what you believe and everything to do with your state of consciousness.”
― Eckhart Tolle

Our consciousness shapes and molds the reality that plays out in our lives. And there are many levels of consciousness, each with different rules, principles, characteristics and attributes.

For example, if you reside in the victim consciousness (“Things happen TO me,” “Life sucks and then you die” are a few standard thoughts from this level.), you can affirm and intend all you want, but your consciousness, the driver of your reality, which believes affirmations and intentions are a bunch of hooey always gets the last word. When you spend most of your waking hours in that consciousness (and it’s a very popular consciousness), your channels are plugged up. All the good that wants to come your way can’t get through.

Because we live in a multi-dimensional universe, there are dozens of different levels of consciousness, oftentimes residing in one person. For the purpose of this discussion, I’ve broken it down into four major consciousness categories. Each of these levels has dozens of subsets, all that play out in different ways in our lives. Let’s just say that my goal is to move closer to level four.

1. “The damn, not again” consciousness. The starting gate for most of us is some manifestation of victim consciousness. It varies from person to person, but the over-arching theme is we have no control over anything that happens in our life. The best we can do is work really hard, cross our fingers and hope that all the “shit” we hear about out there will somehow escape us.

2. “The woo-hoo! This is getting cool!” consciousness. One of the next levels (again it plays out differently in each person) is where we realize we have a say. We learn there are energetic laws that are just as reliable as physical laws. We discover that our thoughts are units of mental energy that play out in the world just as powerfully as the principles of gravity or aerodynamics.

Usually we move in and out of this consciousness, mixing it up with other levels. We still feel separate and still retain some of that “poor me” consciousness. In fact, we spend nearly as much time talking about what we don’t want as what we do. We still believe the things we want are out there, in the future, something we have to strive for.

3. The “Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.” consciousness. I am very happy to report that I spent nearly the entire year of 2013 in this consciousness. I got up every morning, celebrating, feeling good. I got up on the right side of the bed nearly every morning and boy, did things come to fruition for me. My book hit the New York Times bestseller list. I traveled to six different countries on four different continents. I got all kinds of new writing gigs. Editors contacted ME which, if you’re a freelance writer, you’d know never happens. I got emails from people all over the world, telling me how much they liked my book. And while all that was really cool and I’m intending it to happen again in 2014, the best part really was how blessed I felt.

And this is where the distinction should be made. People believe they will be happy when they achieve a certain level of success, when they find the perfect lover, when they heal from cancer. But that’s not how it works. All those things are byproducts of being happy.

This is one chicken vs. the egg that is not in question. Being grateful, being happy, feeling blessed ALWAYS comes first. In fact, most people say that when their “stuff” finally comes, the material things they got into this “thoughts creating reality” business in the first place they realize they’re beside the point. And that the gift, the real gift, is the joy they now see in the little things—the cute little heart the barista made into the foam on the latte, the squirrel running along the fence in glee, the softness of cashmere sweater you pull over your head.

4. “I am one with all” consciousness.
In this consciousness, which I must admit is not yet a 24/7 theme for moi, there is no sense of separation from anything. This consciousness knows it is one with Source. It knows it’s an indelible part of the F.P. It knows you are an unlimited being, hooked up with all that is. In this consciousness, everything is eternal and everything else (your thoughts, your reality) is subservient to this bottom-line spiritual Truth. When we’re lucky enough to view life from this consciousness, we are totally surrendered to the “all that is” and know nothing is missing from our life. And, in fact, by yielding to that consciousness, by giving it permission to play out in our lives, we come to realize that all those little intentions and manifestations we so dutifully held in our consciousness are small potatoes compared to this. It’s so much bigger and grander and woo-hoo’er than anything we could have ever imagined.

“It’s up to you to use all those good vibes that are laying dormant inside you.” –Matt from Good Vibe Party blog

Thought I’d share a couple quick things this beautiful Monday morning.

First, this story from yesterday’s power posse. Nikki has been introducing her daughter to the idea that “thoughts create reality.” Even though she subtly (or maybe not so subtly) slipped my book, E-Squared, into her Christmas stocking, she knows that the best way to “teach” anything is through demonstration. People notice your joy and think, “Hmmmm, what’s she on?”

A few years ago, Nikki had cancer. For quite a while, she wore a “survivor” bracelet. I don’t know the exact wording, but it was one of those plastic bracelets you get on fundraising walks. She wore it proudly for awhile, but finally realized that she was SO MUCH MORE than a “survivor” and no longer cared to define herself that way.

The other day, her daughter asked why she’d lost interest in cancer activism and she explained that being a survivor was old news, that she was now creating a whole different story.

While they were talking, the phone rings and a friend, another “survivor” called and said, “Guess what happened? You know those bracelets we got in that walk? Mine just broke.”

The other thing I just have to share is this adorable E-Cubed selfie.

al pacino

Diane S., with whom I’ve enjoyed an email correspondence, made the intention that Al Pacino would knock on her door. Her husband Marty even took the picture.

10406730_849188791789342_7661489944890577312_n

I also really like this one that was shared on my Facebook page. The name Ar-Rahim (on the sticker) means that “all previous and future years are brilliant and full of mercy.”

Sounds like a beautiful intention to me.

There’s still time to enter the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge. You might win a free cruise or a pair of tickets to one of the four North American I Can Do It! conferences, sponsored by Hay House with all your favorite authors. Hope to see you there.

You are a glorious, alluring, radiant beauty–and it has nothing whatsoever to do with the face you see in the mirror.

“Change but your mind on what you want to see, and all the world must change accordingly.”—A Course in Miracles

I’m having a blast with all the E3 selfies coming in. (Send yours to this page for the chance to win a cruise to Alaska and/or a pair of tickets to all four North American I Can Do It! events) But in the meantime, I just have to interrupt the contest with this noncommercial announcement.

It’s a story from E-Cubed about real beauty.

It was shared by my new friend StevieAnne Petitt who is a hilarious comedian (and other great things). Check out her comedy show tonight at Stand Up Live in Phoenix.

She’s the cover girl for the E3 Selfie Challenge and now, she has blown me away with this incredible story from Experiment #3 in E-Cubed.

It’s the experiment that examines the old-school belief in absolute reality. I’ll let StevieAnne take it from here:

“Okay – where to begin?! Holy SHIFT! I am a 7 days into the #E3 Selfie Challenge created by New York Times’ Best Seller, Pam Grout, and have I got an incredibly remarkable last 72 hours to report from my most recent expert’sriment – proving that manifesting magic and merriment is my (our) full-time gig!

I’ll make it brief while still BLOWING YOUR MIND!

72 hours ago, I was in bed, flipping to the next experiment in my E-cubed book. I had been doing the experiments consecutively as I was trusting it was all Divine timing. I was now on the “Simon Cowell” corollary, where our experiment is to acknowledge our most hindering belief systems about ourselves, then INVITE that the opposite must be equally true and capable of existing. I was to embark on a 72-hour journey of being open to any and all beliefs that countered my long-standing mind chatter that “I am only valuable when found physically attractive – and that even that was rare”

This was a prominent belief system that has not only been ’round a looooong time, but also very recent, as I had been rejected (or what I perceived as rejected) quite a few times in as many days.)

So, I skipped past the chapter. I decided there was no way I was working on THAT shift just yet. I didn’t want to face it. Or even own the self chatter. So, I began reading the next experiment in E-cubed…

Not even 2 pages in to the preferred chapter, I get a call from a friend of mine for some time now. This friend called me to discuss embarking on a professional adventure together. And also to talk as friends. Nothing more – and nothing related to my physicality. As we spoke, I started to get these whispers of intuition that I needed to return to the chapter I intentionally passed up. I focused my undivided attention back to our conversation and then again, as we were talking, felt inclined to return to the “Simon Cowell” experiment.

I quickly made the decisions to move my bookmark to the correct chapter with the intent of reading it after our phone call. The very nano-second I did that, my friend began to cry on the other line as they told me, in the most heart-felt sentiment that they appreciated me for traits of “organized”, “motivated”, “articulate” and other similar phrases, then telling me that I have so much to offer and if only I knew that/saw that. And that they would be honored to be “even a small part in my journey…” That my mind was beautiful and that I am so intelligent. I WAS BLOWN AWAY AND SO HUMBLED! And in their tears, I found so many tears streaming down my face. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I had never been complimented on such a level before. Let alone, from a platonic fellow being. I was overwhelmed with LOVE and PEACE… and also this KNOWING that the skimming through the “Simon Cowell” experiment began the moment I skimmed through it. That’s when the 72 hours began. And the Universe immediately delivered that intention… a mere two-pages and some five minutes into the preferred chapter.

I KNEW the next 70 hours were gonna blow my mind and tat they’d be necessary to catapult me into my ultimate desire to live purposefully in my passion!

The next day, I am at work an hour early. So is an award-winning, highly-regarded Harvard and M.I.T. professor who took a liking to me early on in my employment at Starbucks and has mentored me since. Matter of fact – AND THIS IS HUGE – he BOUGHT ME E-CUBED! I didn’t even ask! He just intuitively knew I would want it, as we had discussed E-squared over coffee a few times before.

We sat for coffee. Him not knowing that I was conducting another E-cubed experiment or doing the #E3 Selfie Challenge, etc. As we are talking, he shares with me one of the most profound compliments I have ever received… AGAIN _ HAVING NO CLUE ABOUT THE EXPERIMENT OR MY BELIEF SYSTEM THAT I AM LOOKING TO PROVE FALSE… he says to me… “You know, your LOOKS ARE NOT YOUR BEST FEATURE… IT IS WHAT’S BEHIND THE SMILE…”

BLOWN AWAY YET!?!

I am sitting there in just utter shock and awe. I have the largest smile on my face, because normally that sentence isn’t well-received at first…. but to ME, that was MUSIC AND MANIFESTING MIRACLES to my ears! I was blown away! Nevermind the fact that the very experiment I was conducting was written in the very book that he gifted me…! I went to the bathroom to cry tears of awe and joy before my shift started…

Fast forward to today, and aside from a comment about my pink lipstick, nothing but non-physical compliments from nearly fifty people in my community stating that they are proud of me, proud to know me, excited for all I will accomplish, that speaking is my gift and I am right where I need to be – all of this in preparation for the BIG EVENT TOMORROW at Tempe Improv – my first five-minute stand-up as a Conscious Comedian (my E3 Challenge being to be Internationally-recognized and well-received as I “lighten up enlightenment”…

I sit here just in complete gratitude. I am blown away by the LOVE and SUPPORT of everyone in my life. All the energy, The Collective Whole. The Universe. The FP. All that has conspired to make the last 72 hours imperative for my growth into what will ultimately BE my ability to serve as a Conscious Comedian in this “humor” experience…

If it wasn’t for you – the very person reading this – allowing me to BE the greatest expression of myself, and sharing your love and support of me so openly, I don’t know that I’d ever have embarked on my purposeful path.

You all may never know how much you mean to me…. but it is exponential. YOU are so important and honored and cherished by me! Thank you for your support and love and freely-given compliments that truly have shifted energy that was keeping me from BEING.

Thank you so very much! I am looking forward to tomorrow. Not just for stepping onto the stage and into my Greatness, but also for the next experiment that you fine beings are so welcome and encouraged to enjoy as well!”

Thank you, Stevie.

It’s the year to change the pre-set buttons in your consciousness

“Do a loony-goony dance
’
Cross the kitchen floor.

Put something silly in the world.

That ain’t been there before.”—Shel Silverstein

Car radios have buttons to pre-set favorite stations, making it easy to find, say KKFI and KPRS. Our minds work the same way. We program in certain “experiences” on our pre-set buttons and then we forget (or don’t allow) anything else.

But just so you know. THERE. IS. SO. MUCH. MORE.

I loved this story that came in this morning. And, yes, it falls into the SO.MUCH.MORE category.

A woman in Norway was doing The Dude Abides experiment from E-Squared, the one where you ask for a sign from the higher intelligence. Here’s her story:

“When I decorated the Xmas tree this year I noticed that the star on top no longer worked to my disappointment. In Norway we have a Xmas song where one of the lines goes like this: “And high in the top of the tree the shining star, that shines to remind us of our God” But my star did not shine this year.

“Then I did the first exercise and said, “Ok God, send me a sign or a blessing within the next 48 hours. And I started looking everywhere for a sign, I walked into traffic signposts and walls because I was looking after a sign.

“When it was only two hours left of the 48 hours, I sat on my sofa and thought that it did not work, I had not seen any signs, but then it happened- the star in top of my tree suddenly started shining (the light suddenly started working) and I almost fell off my sofa.

“All the Xmas without the shining star, and then on the day I was going to pack away the tree, (and with two hours left of the experiment) it started to shine.”

Needless to say, she left the tree (with the shining star) up for a couple more days.

So, even though most of us have pre-set the button that says, “things that are broken are broken forever,” she found a whole different radio station with a whole different song.

Why I’m getting naked about my desires

“Become committed—fully committed—to the experience of happiness.”—The Way of Mastery

I just created an LOA quiz for Good Vibe University. It’s a simple, four-part quiz to determine how adept you are at employing the law of attraction.

Jeannette Maw, the totally hip “school marm” who hosts this powerful law of attraction site, and I will be partying on the 19th so take the quiz beforehand (it’s sort of a no-brainer) and join us as we talk about the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge and why doing this with others is so much more fun.

In the meantime, I want to talk about innocence and vulnerability and one of the sidewalk cracks we stumble over when claiming the largesse of the universe.

I call it a sidewalk crack because it’s very subtle. There’s an underlying belief that we shouldn’t admit we want riches, joyous relationships, rewarding work. What if people think we’re selfish? What if we piss God off?

So we’re in conflict. We have desires, but we don’t want to admit them. We pinch them off. We hide them under the bed. Desire, after all, is a blot on the spiritual path. Isn’t it?

But what if desire IS the spiritual path, what if it’s the animating force that propels us forward, that effects beautiful transformation on the planet?

What if desire is actually God in action? And by suppressing our desires, we’re actually crippling God.

So I’d like to suggest that we surrender to the creative force that wells within us and begin to view our desires as wholly innocent, wholly pure, wholly….holy.

So yes, it might be scary to post your highest intention in the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge. It might be intimidating to admit you desire material comfort and creative expression and unending love. But if we don’t all come out of the closet about our desires, we risk thwarting the full potential of the universe, of God.

I’m read to undress. How about you?

Why upgrading your beliefs and expectations will create an exciting new story in 2015

“If we do not change what we believe, we will create in 2015 the same thing we’ve created in 2014….2013, 2012….”—David Moser

Whatever your dream is for 2015, there’s only one way to reach it.

You’ve got to change your beliefs and expectations. About what’s possible. About the way the world works.

Whether you want more money, a loving relationship, or a new and exciting career, you’ve got to upgrade your views. You’ve got to create a new vision and begin to believe more in the new vision than in “what is.”

Focusing on “what is” only slows the process down.

Anything is possible. But you’ve got to elevate your beliefs and expectations. And to remember these 11 words: The universe has your back and everything’s going to be okay.

Don’t forget to show us your selfie (and your new vision) in the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge.
