Take this easy quiz: How proficient are you at using the Law of Attraction?

“Over-explanation separates us from astonishment.”–Eugene Ionesco

If you didn’t catch this LOA quiz I wrote for the Good Vibe blog, here’s your big chance. I’ll be talking with Jeannette Maw, host of this groovy online party, at 4 EST this afternoon. Come say “hi!”

And now for the very first LOA quiz, run for the very second time:

When I was a teenager, I loved the quizzes in Seventeen magazine. I couldn’t wait to find out:

“Which fashion style best suits your taste?”

“What is your party personality?”

“Is he THE ONE?”

Even now, a day rarely goes by without one of my Facebook friends reporting the results of “Which member of the Beatles they are” or “Which Oprah quote should be their mantra.”

These quizzes are all in good fun and since good, delightful fun is one of my mantras (I didn’t even need Oprah to help figure that out), I’ve come up with the world’s first Law of Attractions Quiz.

To find out how adept you are at using this all-powerful law of the universe, answer these four questions:

1. Do you believe your thoughts create your reality?

a. Some of the time

b. All of the time

c. Only when you repeat an affirmation 568 times, visualize at least an hour a day and pray non-stop to a higher diety

d. Are you kidding me? I never get what I want.

2. Which of the following statements best matches your opening thought most mornings:

a. Oh shit, not again!

b. Yee-haw! A new opportunity for another Oscar-worthy production

c. Dang! Where is that hot brunette I was just dreaming about.

d. I’ve got to pee.

3. Which of the following most accurately describes your take on life:

a. It sucks and then you die.

b. It’s a test for what’s going to happen after you die.

c. It’s like an amusement park ride, sometimes exciting and sometimes it makes you want to die.

d. It’s a beautiful romp and death? It’s just a temporary illusory bump.

4. The universe is:

a. Limitless

b. Abundant

c. Strangely accommodating

d. All of the above.

Check your score here:

1. If most of your answers were “A”: You are a powerful creator, constantly using the law of attraction.

2. If most of your answers were “B”: You are a powerful creator, constantly using the law of attraction.

3. If most of your answers were “C”: You are a powerful creator, constantly using the law of attraction.

4. If most of your answers were “D”: You are a powerful creator, constantly using the law of attraction.

5. If you didn’t even take the quiz: You are a powerful creator, constantly using the law of attraction.

Okay, so it was a trick quiz. And I could have just told you going in: You can’t NOT use the law of attraction. To question whether or not you do is like questioning whether or not you use gravity.

So here are three questions I actually like better:

1. Given the fact that your thoughts, beliefs and expectations play the starring role in your life experience, did you get up this morning and consciously create your day?

2. Did you get up this morning and purposely decide what kind of day you were going to have?

3. If not, what’s stopping you?

Why I’m getting naked about my desires

“Become committed—fully committed—to the experience of happiness.”—The Way of Mastery

I just created an LOA quiz for Good Vibe University. It’s a simple, four-part quiz to determine how adept you are at employing the law of attraction.

Jeannette Maw, the totally hip “school marm” who hosts this powerful law of attraction site, and I will be partying on the 19th so take the quiz beforehand (it’s sort of a no-brainer) and join us as we talk about the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge and why doing this with others is so much more fun.

In the meantime, I want to talk about innocence and vulnerability and one of the sidewalk cracks we stumble over when claiming the largesse of the universe.

I call it a sidewalk crack because it’s very subtle. There’s an underlying belief that we shouldn’t admit we want riches, joyous relationships, rewarding work. What if people think we’re selfish? What if we piss God off?

So we’re in conflict. We have desires, but we don’t want to admit them. We pinch them off. We hide them under the bed. Desire, after all, is a blot on the spiritual path. Isn’t it?

But what if desire IS the spiritual path, what if it’s the animating force that propels us forward, that effects beautiful transformation on the planet?

What if desire is actually God in action? And by suppressing our desires, we’re actually crippling God.

So I’d like to suggest that we surrender to the creative force that wells within us and begin to view our desires as wholly innocent, wholly pure, wholly….holy.

So yes, it might be scary to post your highest intention in the E-Cubed Selfie Challenge. It might be intimidating to admit you desire material comfort and creative expression and unending love. But if we don’t all come out of the closet about our desires, we risk thwarting the full potential of the universe, of God.

I’m read to undress. How about you?

LOA Leaders blog med
No sooner did I appoint myself “Mayor of Crazy Town” (in yesterday’s blog), than blessings started rolling in.

Hay House asked if I’d be interested in writing E-Cubed, a follow-up to E-Squared which totally cracks me up.

The LOA community chose this very blog as one of the best blogs of 2012, an editor of Men’s Journal practically begged me to begin writing for him and, best of all, I got this email from a reader:

“I am delirious to join you in your madness! It’s so much more fun over here! My life has dramatically changed since reading “E-Squared” and your posts. I find I am much happier and spend a lot of my time expecting miracles. Such a departure from how I used to be (grimly holding onto my belief that something “bad” was going to happen.) Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! You ROCK!”

Since changing the dominant paradigm is one of my major intentions (along with uplifting and inspiring everyone I meet), I feel extremely gratified. So, I want to offer a big shout-out to all of you, my community, my friends, my home boys and girls.

The LOA award is particularly meaningful because if this blog landed honors in 2012 in which I only BEGAN blogging (I think I started in November or December), just think what might happen in 2013. And also because accepting this awards feels like accepting the Emmy award that I intend to win next. And once you start feeling something and envisioning it, better step back, Jack!

Which brings me to today’s topic: pre-paving.

If you want to travel, buy a suitcase.
If you want kids, buy diapers.
If want to meet the lover of your dreams, buy a photo album for those inevitable wedding photos.

You have to create a vision, walk in that direction and keep dancing—no matter what.

Since I’m celebrating today (I celebrate most every day) and since my award apparently means, to quote Sally Fields, “You like me. You really like me.” I thought I’d offer this interview that ran on www.inspiremetoday.com. It’s a 20-minute feel-gooder with yours truly.

Have the best weekend of your life!!

Good, good, good vibrations from the creative mastermind behind Good Vibe U

“If we would awaken, we could become selectors of the beauty of the garden God has given us.”—Neville Goddard

Don’t you just love it when crushes are reciprocated? Well, last weekend Jeannette Maw, the brilliant founder of Good Vibe U, was generous enough to post a blog from yours truly! Since she is one rock star of a manifester, I was thrilled that she made the confession of having a girl crush. Jeannette, I boomerang the sentiment back to you.

And I also want to thank you for graciously agreeing to do an interview/guest post on my blog. Yes, folks, you read it here first: wisdom from the inimitable Jeannette Maw.

1. You’re a manifesting maestro. Tell me about your all-time personal favorite manifestation. I’d also love to hear the funniest? The fastest?

My favorite was also my first, when I actually thought all this manifesting stuff was a bunch of hooey.

Just to prove it and be done with it, I followed the instructions I’d read in a book that talked about creating what you want by speaking it as if it were already done. At the time I was volunteering as a foster mom of homeless companion animals and had eight big dogs living in my little home. I’d been on a long dry streak for adoptions like no one had ever seen in the rescue community! I was desperate and badly needed something to go right – namely, one of my dogs needed to find a home!

So I talked about how great it was that my most difficult foster dog was adopted by a wonderful family who lived nearby and was fully capable of taking care of him. That was Thursday night.

Saturday morning within an hour of being dropped off at the same adoption fair he’d been to for the past three months, that very foster dog had two families fighting to adopt him.

The next day another foster dog was adopted. And two days after that a local rescue group took two more dogs off my hands. I was down four dogs in four days and it felt like a miracle had occurred in my life!

From the point on I knew there was something to this law of attraction stuff after all. 😉

The funniest was when my boyfriend followed my lead that same week (after witnessing my success) to manifest what he wanted, and I found myself having ridiculous amounts of sex all week long. Until I realized what was up and I told him he needed to stop that because it wasn’t ethical. In hindsight, it seems I could have appreciated his manifesting success more than I did at the time. 🙂

2. How’d you happen to start Good Vibe U, one of the very coolest manifesting sites on the web?

From personal experience I found that practicing deliberate creation was a little bit lonely in that none of my friends, family or co-workers were doing it (or interested in talking about it). I knew it would be easier to practice if I were surrounded by like-minded others, and I suspected other fellow creators would feel the same. Turns out there are lots of folks who feel the same. Good Vibe U is designed to inspire, educate and connect those of us who are consciously playing with the law of attraction. Together we are become better and better at this “thoughts becoming things” gig!

3. What’s your very best tip for beginners?

Don’t take it too seriously. Sometimes by making it a big deal we kink the energy and slow up our success. Approach it as a playful experiment that you’re engaging just for fun and you’re much more likely to enjoy the process as well as the results.

4. Tell us a LOA story that’s absolutely true, but nobody would ever believe it.

There are a few stories that no one would ever believe, so I’ll share this one instead:
One night I was home alone and craving chocolate. I had none in the house (I’d checked everywhere several times) and didn’t feel like driving to the store for a fix. Instead of resigning myself that I couldn’t have what I wanted, I decided to let Universe satisfy this craving for me. I imagined how good it would taste, melting in my mouth. I heard the “mm mm mmmmm” as I enjoyed every bite. I felt the satisfaction of appreciating rich, delicious chocolate.

And then I let it go.

Next inspiration was to do a little cleaning. As I cleared the counter of clutter, I knew I had to decide what to do with the decorative tin mom had gifted me a week prior. (A neighbor had given it to her; she thought I might be able to use it.) I decided to put it in the give away box, but opened it first to make sure it was still empty (as it was upon delivery).
Inside the tin, wrapped in clear plastic, was some of the best fudge I’ve ever tasted. 🙂
