Appearances, be damned!

“Walk so lightly, my darling. On tiptoes with no luggage, completely unencumbered.”– Aldous Huxley

If you’ve been here for awhile, at this celebration known colloquially as a blog, you know I live to share miracle stories.

To me, they’re the equivalent of the 4-minute mile. They demonstrate that “hey, maybe there IS another possibility.” Maybe all those rigid ideas and expectations that consume most of our waking energy aren’t rock solid truth.

Today’s miracle comes from one of my possibility posse mates. And I love it SO MUCH because she’s the one who instigated it. She’s the one who made it happen. I like that in a miracle.

You might have heard about the NCAA National Championships. The KU Jayhawks, 15 points down at the half, came back and captured the title.  Retiring to the locker room at half time, Christian Braun asked David McCormack, “What are you smiling about? They’re killing us.” And McCormack says, “I don’t understand why you’re upset. We got this. We know how to do this. It’s our destiny.”

I don’t know for sure he used the word destiny, but you get the point. He refused to despair over “appearances.”

As did my miracle-inducing posse mate who joined 70,000 fans in gleeful celebration on Mass Street in Lawrence, Kansas. Considering our official population is 94K, this was what you might call a decent turnout. Everybody’s slapping hands and everybody loves everybody and well, it seemed more like life should always be.

But back to the miracle. Soon after arriving, Robbin noticed while swimming in that sea of humanity, she’d lost her friends and her phone. Most humans would have panicked at that point. But not Robbin. She just continued reveling in the exuberant party. She continued having a rip-roaring good time.

The Huxley quote above started by saying, “There are quicksands all about you, sucking at your feet, trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair. That’s why you must WALK LIGHTLY.”

Yes, I know life sometimes appears scary and worthy of despair, but it’s only because that’s what we’ve been mentally rehearsing. Quite actively rehearsing, I might add, for the past couple years.

But when you recognize, like Robbin did, like David McCormack did, that appearances are TEMPORARY and that a BUNCH of other possibilities are just as valid, just as likely, you can WALK LIGHTLY.

And, of course, you can guess what I’m about to say. Robbin found the friends, was reunited with her phone and everything turned out groovy keen.

Mike Dooley and I are going to be walking lightly in our 21-day Magical Mystery Manifestation Adventure that you’re invited to join here.

Have the most sensational weekend of your life, my beautiful, amazing compatriots of joy. #222 Forever!

  1. Thank you, Pam, for sharing so enthusiastically. Your positive energy is so palpable. When I read the first quote from Aldus Huxley, the first thought that came to me was: “the incredible lightness of BEing.” And with that, I’m off to humm, “let it be, let it beee, let is be, oh, let it beeee.” 🙏

  2. Pam, I love all your blog posts, but this one smacked me right between the eyes. Bless you. Miraculous timing.

  3. When I saw Snoop Dog wearing a Kansas jersey on your blog, I said to myself -‘ that’s the second time I’ve seen Snoop Dog’s face today, and if I see his face a third time…..’ The first time was on a bottle of wine at Whole Foods, both of these sightings came from obscure places. Will he appear again- gee I hope so! Have an awesome day. See you on the 21st!

  4. Rock Chalk!! Hang onto your vision, even when you’re down, you can always find your way back if you believe!

  5. Yes, totally resonates with me. I have plenty of my own stories to attest. One from a childhood when i went to participate in a contest and stated to my family that i will come back as winner with a medal, they chuckled behind my back. And guess what? I came home as a winner! lol 🙂

For the more recent one, I wrote a beautiful prayer to God last April asking for a healing of my family. I knew it was done immediately even the appearances showed otherwise! And then 3 months later my ex husband asked for divorce. I knew my prayer was answered not in the way i envisioned of course. It is hard to see a full picture sometimes, but Source sees it all. Was it painful, sure it was. However, i knew it is for the highest good.

Fast forward to April of this year, i totally changed my life. New place of leaving, new career budding just almost ready to touch, new life style and even new romance. And i am loving it!!!
I just follow the light, or beautiful butterflies :). And i just saw a gorgeous one today, again. 🙂

  6. Yay for winning even when it looks like you’re losing, for finding your friends and phone even when it looks like they’re lost, and for knowing that all things are possible even when it appears that everything is impossible and there’s no way your dreams can come true. Appearances be damned! Amen! 🥳💃🎉😁

  7. My brother just shared stories of two different times when he left his wallet at the convenience store he goes to every morning. One time, the wallet was turned in and they had it in the office. The next time, he went back after 1/2 hour and it was there, at the coffee station, untouched!
He had also told me about all the “weirdos” and characters that are at that store in the early mornings. But nobody stole his wallet, after he gave them two chances. Because people are good and more often than not, they do the right thing.
And I am so stoked for the Mike and Pam Party!

  8. Just wanted to say I love your work, Pam. I am completely enjoying the Course in Miracles Experiment. I read it everyday alongside the other Course in Miracles. I am beyond excited to be joining you & Mike Dooley beginning on 4/21! Thank you for everything you do!

  9. Pam, I would like to know what is “possibility posse”, maybe I didn´t read about it. Some stuff like the one that happened to your friend happened to me, I always say “It will appear” (va a aparecer, Spanish is my language). Well, I lost my phone, so I started calling to the places I had been, and in my first call, I got it! Someone found it in the supermarket parking and took it to Customer Service! It was very dirty but it worked fine. For me, this is something almost unbelievable, this supermarket is in our biggest shopping mall.
