A different pair of shades

“Love will immediately enter into any mind that truly wants it.”—A Course in Miracles

If you want to fish, you need a pole or a net or maybe a spear. But if you really want to up your angling game, nothing beats a pair of polarized sunglasses.

By eliminating glare from the water, you gain a whole new superpower. Polarized filters change the axis of light transmission, so the vertical reflections from the water’s surface no longer block your vision. You can better peer beneath the surface, get a 10-20 on that 35-pound trout. It’s kind of revolutionary.

Just like spiritual practice that enables us to see things anew: each other, the sky, the trees, the habits and patterns and emotional routines in which we so often get stuck.

Spiritual practice allows us to see beyond our private, self-made worlds. It allows us to recognize love in everyone, in everything.

A Course in Miracles, my main spiritual squeeze, can be summarized in five words: Help me see this differently. Whatever it is, I can be sure my view pales in comparison to the Dude’s vision.

That’s my daily mission. To be open to the infinite and therefore see infinite possibilities.

I’m ready for a new pair of shades. How about you? #222 Forever

  1. To be open to the infinite and therefore see infinite possibilities. YES. I agree. I love the infinite possibilities. Thank you dear Pam for another awesome reminder of miracles.

  2. I think you are on a wonderful vacation somewhere hurray and thank you for the most profound 5 word prayer I have heard in a long time….”Help me see this differently.”

  3. ‘Help me see this differently’ Wow. I’m going to start using that every time I mistakenly think I know something about anything. One of the things I’m working on is letting go of judgement. This will be my new mantra! Thanks Pam!

  4. Pam, that quote of yours “help me see this differently” couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m going to be posting this all over the house. Thank you so very much!!

  5. Your five word summary of ACIM is excellent. It’s a perfect affirmation for basically everything, and it seems many of us commenting here agree. I love your daily mission too, and even though I recently bought new sunglasses, they don’t seem to have the magical qualities of seeing infinite possibilities so I’ll have to quote the “help me see this differently” affirmation every time I put them on, and see what happens 😉😁🥰 Thankyou Pam for another perfect post. 💛💃🌼🦋⭐️

  6. Just discovered your books a week ago and it’s a real pleasure. Already read E2, E3 and Thank and grow rich. Sad that The course in miracles is not available in french. 🙁 I really changed my mind by reading your explanations… thank you for sharing your vision of CP.

  7. I use the same 5 words as much as I can…the other one is, I can see peace instead of this.
Love you Pam. You are my inspiration ( along with the Course, of course ).

  11. Thanks and love to you, Pam. I’m on my second go-round of The Course in Miracles Experiment. Please tell me what RSO means on page 237. Thank you!

    1. Hola! It’s shorthand for rip this sucker out! It simply means that particular lesson didn’t resonate with me so I was taking Bill Thetford’s advice (he’s one of the original creators) who said, “Disregard any lesson that doesn’t ring true.
