Looking for love in all the RIGHT places

“Joy is the justice we give ourselves.”—Drew Lanham

Happy Monday, my beautiful friends! It’s Hedgehog Day (when Taz always sends me a hedgehog from her dance floor in the cosmos) and it’s 2-22 month when, in exactly three weeks, I’ll be awarding the third Taz Grout 222 Foundation award.

In the meantime, I want to gush about an awareness that is making itself so bountifully clear to me.  As I repeat endlessly, the Course in Miracles, my main spiritual practice, is about upending the apple cart, proving that nearly every single thing we believe is backwards, upside down. Most of our beliefs are not only false, but they preclude us from seeing the truth of the world as it really is.

One of the many cons thrown by our ego is that we find love in people, places and things. Ergo—I just LOVE Spain or I loved Michael Beckwith’s talk yesterday. Or I love all the birds in my backyard. Those things are all true, but the love is coming, not from those things, but from me.

Love comes from within. That’s where it always is except when I smother my awareness of it with complaints or problems or some other ridiculous concept like it’s my job to seek love. How crazy is that—the idea that I have to somehow find love?

I’m the one that brings the love to people, places and things. It’s in me. And you. And everything there is.

Michael Beckwith, in yesterday’s talk that, YES I did LOVE, suggests we ask this question? “What good is here that I cannot presently see?”

That’s what the Course encourages us to do. To find the good, to bring the love to every situation, to look for seedlings that we then grow with our attention and presence.

The other wonderful thing Beckwith mentioned (and I say this all the time) is that we should never read the paper (or social media) to find out what’s happening in the world.

What’s happening in the world is what we bring to it, what we choose to see in it, what we create with the joy and the light of our own love and attention. #222 Forever

  1. Dear Pam, this is perfect for today, I’m teaching this exact love thing in my mosha zoom class tomorrow! I love the way you get it across. A great book you might have read that really talks about this is The Mastery of Love, by Don Miguel Ruiz. And Rumi in his profound poetry speaks of it.
Enjoy the Big Two month, I think of Taz every time I see 222 or 2222222 lol She is nearer than near as are all our love ones when we tap in.. Sending loads of love that is in me to you and everyone!

  2. Asked God for help to see things differently, and yes to move away from finding love (so exhausting). And voilá, you post . Yes I must be my loving self, that’s all that’s required.

  3. Can you share where you heard Michaels talk Pam?
I was looking for crafts to do with my granddaughter and came upon one inch baby hedgehog sitting. It brought such a smile on my face and felt such a connection with you and Taz.. Little hedgehog, Taz, sits on my dresser now ❤️

  4. This is the absolute truth. When I share my love and joy it comes back to me like a boomerang! Makes it easy and fun to keep tossing it around!
Much love from me to you and to everyone!

  6. I just downloaded the app on Apple. It’s available. It said it was free. I don’t mind paying in the future but have very few resources available to me right now.

  7. Can I just say how much I enjoy your emails? I’m sure you send them out every week not knowing where they land but with the assurance that they are making a difference in people’s lives. They surely do in mine. As do your books. I am so blessed to have found you – you challenge me daily through ACIM to look at the world differently. And so every day I get up and try my best to do that. Thank you. 1. Hey, Little Rock! Your message made me smile. I do sometimes wonder who is reading along, but always when I write it reminds me of truth and that’s a perfect reason to do it. Thank you SO MUCH!

  8. I LOVE this post Pam! (😁) Even though I’ve known that my love for things and people comes from within me, and that searching for love outside me doesn’t actually make sense – or even work – your words have helped me “get it” in a way I haven’t before, and it just makes total sense. Of COURSE love is within me! Of COURSE I don’t have to search for someone or something to give it to me. It’s right here in my heart all the time. Yes! And as I feel it, share it and give it away, it just grows and grows within me. Amen. Thankyou for sharing your thoughts, truths and revelations with us- they make such a difference to so many of us, and always bring a smile to my heart. ☺️💙And today I am going to look for where I can give my love away – and watch it grow as I do. Amen! 💛🦋

  9. I hope you consider a book called “222” maybe with some people’s stories of how large & impactful TAZ is now.

  12. Dear Dear Dear Pam, Thank-you for being an example of optimism.
Today, as a mother of three, grandmother of 5, under the age of 4. I get daily shitty situations.
Thank-you for making those into small things. I respect, admire, adore, your optimism.
I am double dipping right now by having Marianne Williamson come into my inbox teaching on ACIM. I have been a student for 30 years. I have hand written each lesson. I love you and Marianne for reminding us , ACIM< or any practise, is called practise. DO it moment by moment.
    Thank-you Pam,
You are one of my girl crushes, which means I admire you motherly strenght

  13. After all these years. Of being a student I still get rattled. Great news the ratting game only lasts a small amount of time in my day
Forgot to add to my previous email

  14. Pam – Our kaleidoscope of self-perceptions can never reveal the truth of who we really are and how deeply we are loved. The benefit of bringing the joy and light of our love to the awareness of anything and everything is something you share and teach with an abundance of clarity and humor. I, for one, appreciate the ideological evolution from the treadmill to the comfy armchair. – Thanks. Claudia
