The two magic words, a review

Whatever you are doing, love yourself for doing it. Whatever you are feeling, love yourself for feeling it.”—Thaddeus Golas 00001d

As our world is being rearranged, as the old ways are crumbing, it’s wildly important to be exceedingly kind to yourself. To repeat, again and again, the two magic words: “It’s okay.”

If you haven’t taken a shower in 3 days, it’s okay.

If you feel scared, it’s okay.

If you haven’t accomplished a single thing from your to-do list, it’s okay.

If you haven’t taught your kids a single math problem, it’s okay.

No matter what.

No matter what is happening, it’s important to acknowledge that it’s okay.

No matter how you feel, no matter how you think, it’s okay.

The Truth about ourselves lies beneath the train of thoughts plowing through our minds. And it’s still rock solid.

It can’t be changed by our panic, our judgments, our anger, all of which are normal, everyday antics of our minds. And they’re okay. It’s all okay.

Today, as I learn to be gentle with myself, I find there’s no need to do anything. But breathe.

  1. Thanks Pam,

Saw the following somewhere and feel it’s appropriate.

    Inhale, and God approaches you.
Hold the inhalation, and God remains with you.
    Exhale, and you approach God.
Hold the exhalation, and surrender to God.
    – Krishnamacharya

    Bless you all,
    Mike

  4. Thank you Pam. You know, the word ‘Breathe’ has popped up for me a few time over the last couple of days. Now, here it comes again in your post. I have been heeding the message and it really works. Love to all!

  5. I got it! I’m doing the “talk” on Sunday through something called MP4. Chelle’s going to help me put it together. I hope you will join me on Sunday. I would like your feedback. BTW, I totally agree with this sentiment. It reminded me of my talk. We’re in sync.

  6. I’d probably have the shower myself. Personally, being grubby never feels O.K to me but breathing is very good idea. It calms the mind, the spirit and the soul.

  7. Truth! When I learned to take (human, fear-based) judgment out of things, I realized we’re all doing the best we can at any given moment. The best we can, given our state of being, the knowledge we have, the emotional tools we have, and the level of consciousness we have. It doesn’t mean we can’t change and do things differently, but right now I’m doing the best I can, no matter what it looks like to anyone else.

Thank you for this beautiful reminder.
