E-Squared:  The 10-year anniversary edition (with a Manifesting Scavenger Hunt!!) GET IT HERE

Your body is eavesdropping on everything you say

“Being a mother means a love that’s deeper than anything you can imagine. The love is beyond Earth and beyond time and space, and it’s a connection that will be constant.”—Beyoncé 0002-recycle.jpg

I knew Beyoncé, like me, is a Course in Miracles fan, but who knew she would also put into words the very thing I feel about being a mom?

Nothing in my life has compared or will ever compare to the experience of being Taz’s mom.

Her legacy is still my most important commitment. The 222 Foundation that honors her vision (Create relentlessly, love fiercely and do quiet, kind things for the underdog) means everything to me.

The picture on this post was featured on the Sunday front page of the Topeka Capital-Journal after Taz and I created this book (she drew the front cover) on recycled grocery bags for Earth Day 2002. She was 9.

Because I’m focusing on her Foundation and my new Course in Miracles book (that comes out in January) and because I’m heading out of town tomorrow for my first travel assignment in more than a year, I am choosing to run an email that came in yesterday that truly MADE. MY. DAY.

E-Squared featured the Jenny Craig experiment about changing your thoughts about your body. And the Course is very clear that it is our mind, not our body, that steers the ship.

This beautiful email from Kelly sum it up quite nicely:

“I decided to write because I’ve now consumed three of your books, starting with Thank and Grow Rich and then both E-Squared and E-Cubed. I wanted to share a personal observation of anecdotal evidence around weight loss.

“My body is what gives me the hard proof that law of attraction principles are real and absolute. I discovered this long before I discovered your books, so wanted to tag a thought on to the experiment you offered around blessing our food.

“Not only do I bless my food – I bless my body. I think you mentioned in one of your books that our bodies have around 30 trillion cells. I have a daily ritual where I look in the mirror and say “I love you! You’re SO beautiful! Thank you!” and then I hug myself and I talk to my body and all its cells like I talk to my cute little beloved cat “I love you SO much. Thank you, body! I love every single cell inside you! Thank you, cells! I love you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

“I started doing this when I realized that each of us is basically our own personal universe with all these amazing cells. Essentially, we (what we speak, what we believe) act as “god” (or creator) to those cells.

“When I first started this practice many years ago, the excess weight I’d been carrying around melted off. I’d have people asking me what I was doing, and I’d give them the utterly confusing answer “I’m just loving myself.” I know that’s not what they wanted to hear. They wanted to hear “60 minutes of cardio every day followed by juice fasts and eating only cabbage!” Because it’s just too hard to believe that loving yourself can produce those kinds of results.”

Thank you, Kelly, for reminding us that loving ourselves DOES produce those kinds of results.

And thank you for sending the following song that, like you said, gets my happiness vibes going.

Pam Grout is the author of 20 books including E-Squared, E-Cubed, Thank & Grow Rich and her latest book, The Course in Miracles Experiment: A Starter Kit for Rewiring Your Mind (And Therefore Your World).

  1. thank you so much for encouraging us to be our very best by thinking differently. I am so looking forward to reading your new book! 🙂 and thrilled to see a picture of your daughter……..she is beautiful!

      1. thank you so very much Pam………I have been following you for quite a while and I realized that I had never seen your daughter so thank you for this link! I love it when parents are proud of their kids, that is exactly how it should be! 🙂

      2. all these photos brought tears to my eyes……she is stunning………thank you so very much for sharing a small part of her life with others.

  2. I LOVED this! Gives me some validation when I counsel my nutrition patients – our first practice is self-affirmation and self-love. In college, I was taught to teach carbs, fat, and cardio – now, I invite a practice of self-love, self-care, and gratitude. And, by the way, it’s way more enjoyable than neglecting a lonely cupcake that needing love, too 🙂

So happy to see your posts. I think about you often. Especially now with the sunflowers in all of their showy glory – reminds me of all that I’ve heard about your kind, quiet, fiercely loving Taz. Safe travels, Pam. xoxo

  3. Thank you, Pam 😘, for sharing these words and the video! Kind Regards! Gunni

  6. Oh Pam this is fabulous! Thankyou for sharing the email from Kelly. It’s perfect for me and is wonderfully timed with a deep 1&1/2 hour conversation I had with my sister this week about our bodies being complete reflections of our thoughts and how we have the power to change our body’s history – and therefore it’s future- through our thoughts. Loving my body has been a challenge for me my whole life but I KNOW it’s what I need to do, and Kelly’s story affirms this for me. So thanks ☺️
I love that photo of you and Taz, and I enjoy all the stories you share about her. Have a wonderful time on your travel assignment and thanks for posting in the midst of your busy schedule 💗⭐️🦋

  9. Pam! I just saw this, this morning. I LOVE this pic and this post and your smiles are worth a million blog posts and it truly MADE MY DAY as well and with great timing! As you know, I don’t have an issue with weight loss, but I’ve been known to block my blessings when I’m too much in my head and under the spell and influence of the culturally collective ASS HAT! So a big TWIST and SHOUT out to you and Kelly for the timely reminder that it’s not complicated when I finally accept that …. It’s always about the energy…no matter what!

And to quote our all time favorite Indigo Girls ( I don’t think they will mind if I add a few of your words)…. “The hardest to learn was the least complicated”… up until NOW 😊

Happy travels! Can’t wait to hear about them! Love you 😍

  10. Dear Pam,
Literally just moments before I opened this I was praying about this very thing and loving me is exactly what I will remember to practice. I know the laws work!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful pics and as always I think of you so very often and your loving Taz.
    With Great Love,

  11. So beautiful and so true!
I, in a way did the same before knowing about true love, manifesting, positivism and all this magic and power we all have. Ever since I can remember, I knew I was the ugliest girl in the entire world, my body and every single cell of my body did believe it. I couldn’t look, or better said, I hated to look at myself in the mirror, I walked looking down at the ground for many years because I was ashamed of myself and my ugliness. I didn’t want anyone to look at me and make fun, which funny to say now (not back then though), people did start making fun of me and tell me how ugly I was, of course I believed every single word because I didn’t know back then that they were only helping me see how I was the only one believing this to be true. It wasn’t until 8 years ago that I went through another (had many) painful experience that I started asking the right questions and believing differently. I, for the first time in my ever, had decided to look at myself in the mirror and try to find something beautiful about me. It wasn’t easy at all. I truly couldn’t see anything, but for some reason, I knew I needed to try hard and to not give up. So I stared at myself for a while, looking straight into my eyes when I finally noticed that my eyes were bright… of course, I knew it was because the lights of the bathroom were hitting my eyes and that is why I could see brightness in them. Since I could still see the brightness, it was easy for me to believe that my eyes were bright. Every morning for two weeks I did see the same thing (yes…because the light was always on and reflecting into my eyes) but every time I did it, I could see it was becoming a little easier to see and accept myself. One morning, following my new routine, I went to the bathroom, turned on the light, and even though I was ready to see the brightness of my eyes, I was surprised and amazed to not only see my eyes being truly bright but also, and for the first time in my life, I was able to see how my skin was clear, bright, my cheeks were pink and I looked soooo crazy beautiful. I started crying while touching my face because I couldn’t believe that that was me, a beautiful human being. I wish I could express how I really felt, but there are not words that could explain such a feeling. So with this, I would say and with all my heart that: “Love is truly the answer” Ever since then, I became my own scientist and have experimented so many other magical moments that I can’t explain here, otherwise it would take me forever to finish those stories lol
Thank you for sharing your story and for taking the time to read mine. I love you all ❤️

  12. Pam, in my first time around reading E-Squared, E-Cubed and Thank and Grow Rich, I had never read your blog. This has come into my life at a major inner turning point.
Thank you for your wit, humour, insight and dear Taz is never far from my thoughts. I don’t completely understand why . . .
Take care and I’m so looking forward to your new book about ACIM. I too have the big honking original and like my many attempts at reading the Bible in one year, trying to muddle my way through it has not been a roaring success.
    Safe travels and thank you.❤️

  13. Thank you, Pam, so much for sharing my little story. That was unexpected when I sent it. I’m happy to hear it resonates with you and your readers.

On a side note, I’ve pre-ordered your CIM book. Yay! And now I’ve also bought Art & Soul Reloaded and look forward to diving into that, as well.

Thanks for all your inspiration. <3 Kelly

  14. A company hired a stray kitten after customers complained about his presence. I presume the kitten’s job-description says something like: ‘Being your cute little self’

This really made me smile, the fact that this company found a way to turn a complaint into a loving celebration. It inspired me to come back to this blog and leave my desk like Ferris Bueller’s dad to twist and shout a little.

Thank you all for being such awesome selves. You’re all doing an excellent job!
