Protect what you value by giving it away

“Love is the only rational act.”– Mitch Albom shakey

The Course in Miracles turns every cultural paradigm on its head.

ACIM 187 is a prime example. It tells us that if we really want to protect our assets (love, happiness, beauty, joy), we should give them away. In fact, the more freely we give away our precious inheritance, the more we have.

Say what?

In the material world, we learn the exact opposite. We learn there are limits, that there’s only so much to go around. As long as we live from this state of consciousness, we will experience the reality of limits, of lack.

But once we start practicing the consciousness of “there’s more where that came from,” our assets begun doubling exponentially. They also become impossible to lose.

Giving things away is how we prove we have them. So we can store up our assets, continue to believe we must protect them.

Or we can begin to freely distribute them. Begin to share our blessings. To pass them out to everyone.

Only then, will we find ample proof that the universe in unlimited and abundant and always available for everything we need.

Have the very best weekend of your life, my beautiful friends.

  1. Thank you, Pam. I love your blog. I’m wondering whether there’s a typo in the next-to-last paragraph: “…proof that the universe in limited and abundant….” Is it supposed to read, “…proof that the universe is unlimited and abundant….”?

    1. Thank you so much, Natasha! I guess that’s why we writers have editors–for those little mistakes we overlook. Thank you for pointing this out. You’ll notice I promptly made a change. So grateful!

  2. Yes I see that over and over when I feel my connection to God or who I truly am. My light shines brighter and brighter. Bless you for these reminders.🌟

  3. I love the giving is receiving principle from ACIM! But I think there is a typo in “Only then, will we find ample proof that the universe in limited and abundant and always available for everything we need.” Might that be “unlimited”? And Mercury is just entering its shadow phase before it turns retrograde!

Thank you so much for your wonderful writing and humor and making the Course so deliciously accessible! Your work is on my Resources list for my Course and shamanic students WordPress.com

  4. I read what you meant and so very much agree!!!! Growing up with very little in every area of life, I never felt like I was lacking in most things even though we were hungry quite often. Toys were non existent and clothes and shoes only came if they were worn through completely. I got a tea set from a neighbor once for doing work for her. A tiny one and them a friend got very sick so I gave it to her so she would feel better. It made me more happy to make my friend happy. You should see the tea sets I have now, all gifted. My last husband was a Pack rat! Suggesting that he give something away sent him over the edge. When I explained that you can’t out give God, and the more you gave away the better things would be in life, he was more than skeptical. But the proof was there and unquestionable. So he started telling everyone he knew that the more you gave away, the more good came into your life. I laughed at how he took all the credit for that philosophy and made it his own, then passed it on. I see it time and time again. Now I have plenty of everything and even a friendship garden where friends share pieces of their plants with me and I share with them. We all benefit. Sharing makes my day. 🙂 Have an outstanding, wonderfilled weekend. Happy to see you back. Marlene
