Light and joy and peace abide in me

“When I say it’s you I like, I’m talking about that part of you that knows life is far more than anything you can ever see or hear or touch. That deep part of you that allows you to stand for those things without which humankind cannot survive: love, peace and justice.” –Mr. Rogers

butterflyOkay guys, it’s nearly 5–when the rest of the world finally pronounces it to be Happy Hour. We know better. Every hour is meant to be happy hour.

However, here in Ajijic (the relaxing side of the wall),  the electricity just came back on so I’m going to make this post super short.

Speaking of short, ACIM Lesson 93 is one of those lessons where, if I was the editor, I’d put a big fat period right after the heading.

What more do you need to know? Your true identity is light and joy and peace. And any other crazy idea about who you are is just a ridiculous, boring, no longer-useful re-run.

Time to get out the remote and turn that warped illusion off. For good.

And with that I’ll close with Jimmy Twyman’s take on Lesson 93 because as he says, singing, is like praying twice.

  1. Howdy Pam and thanks – it may be short but it’s powerful. Love the cartoon! And I also love Jimmy Twyman’s idea that singing is like praying twice. That means I pray a whole lot more than I realised! 😉 And I was already feeling the light, joy and peace this morning as I drove into the city for work, singing about love, God, The Universe etc on the way 😁Right now I’m having a coffee as I read your post before I head into work (it’s 8.30am here in Melbourne) and now I’m just buzzing with extra light, joy and peace that your words and Jimmy’s song have inspired in me. Thankyou and much joy, peace and light to you today dear Pam 😁🦋🌞

    1. Jenny Louise, I love your posts. You are heading into work when my day is coming to a close. And we’re both feeling the love! Thank you and joy, peace, and light to you too!

      1. Thanks Delaine! I love your posts too. In fact I just thoroughly enjoy everyone’s posts – even if I don’t agree with them. It’s so stimulating to be a part of a group that is travelling a similar path where we can share our thoughts and read others comments even if we are many miles and hours apart 😁 We are together even though it seems we are not. Blessings galore to you dear friend 💖🌸🌷

  2. Somehow I didn’t realize you were still there at the retreat. We learn best with those kinds of songs. I’ve been feeling very light, joyful and at peace lately despite what’s going on around me. Just don’t seem to be absorbing the junk anymore. I like this lesson.

  3. I went to a beginner’s tai chi class in the park today and the instructor told me that Thursday was the last class and gave me the youtube address so that I could learn on my own until the next beginner’s class in the fall. I happily accepted the information and asked if I could participate with the class today. I stood in the back and followed along. I felt the chi immediately and laughed and played with it with my hands, my feet following along. After the class, I talked with the teacher and she told me to come back Thursday to the last beginner’s class and then to start coming to the advanced class and they would put me in the middle so I could always have someone to watch as I learned.

I felt so happy! I came home and took the dogs to the doggie park and called my friend who had been taken to the hospital in an ambulance for pneumonia and a small heart attack on Friday. After talking to her for about 45 minutes, she told me that she felt great…like the illness was gone. She said that as I was telling her about the tai chi class, she had thought there was something to it. And then she connected to my laughing, and noticed that she felt great too.

We both felt that was really amazing. And I had felt so off yesterday but with feeling the chi and the love, I was back to my happy self again. The light and joy and peace abide
in me. So perfect. I love how my life lessons fit right in with the daily ACIM lesson.

    I love the song too!

    This is so easy!

    Thank you, Pam!
