“Evade every influence that keeps you frozen in the past. ” ― Rob Brezsny
I’m in Seattle this weekend giving a couple playshops at East West Bookshop so I’m going to make this quick.
If you haven’t heard of this inspiring little bookshop, let me just say it’s a nonprofit (I love when money isn’t the prime objective) and it’s run by members of the Seattle Ananda community who follow the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. His book Autobiography of a Yogi is a spiritual classic. In fact, if you click here, you can read a post I wrote about Paramahansa when he was just starting out.
But we’re here to talk about A Course in Miracles.
ACIM Lesson 68 (Love holds no grievances) is an extremely potent lesson. It says I can’t really know my full beautiful loving self if I hold grievances. It tells me in no uncertain terms that any of my ‘he done me wrong’s, any of my ‘life’s not fair’ clog up the pipes of the badass I really am.
But to make it really clear, I’m going to tell you a story Eckhart Tolle once told, “If we had little cameras inside our bodies that showed us what happens when we held grievances, we’d never have a grievance again.”
Talk about a mike drop.
Well, as Arnold would say, “I’ll be back.”
Love, only love,
Pam who is sorta sleepless in Seattle

Thanks Pam, love the ET quote! Love East West too, as you know there is one in Mt view, CA too. then you can come to HMB from there!
Love and Peace to all and NO GRIEVANCES !!!!
Grievances, begone!!! Thanks, my friend!
As always Pam I really needed this message today. I had something I was trying to work through and this helped immensely!
So grateful to hear it!
I loved the story of Paramahansa! Thank you for your comments on another wonderful lesson that I would not be reading without your continued “lighthouse” words that simplify the complex.
I guess somebody’s got to man the lighthouse. Thanks, Delaine!
Life isn’t fair, it’s just different for each of us. Fair is a state of the weather and even that changes from moment to moment. I know what grievances do to the body, or anger, or stress. Things you don’t want to accept as they are. I know the results of that in a big way. I also know what it feels like to lay those suckers down. Works like a charm. It’s been a while since reading ET. Think I need a refresher. I’m going to pop over to see the other post. I probably missed it. This is a lesson we need to think about more often than we do. It’s important. Thanks for doing this and I wish I could get to that bookstore. I’m in Portland but no longer drive long distances. Safer for others on the road. 🙂 At least we are having a nice weekend for you. 🙂
I love Portland. Good to know we’re close-ish geographically. But together metaphysically forever.
Sleep well in Seattle 😊
Have fun tomorrow🤗
Thank you for the posts and my miraculous thread through this year. What miracle today?
Great question. Miracle, find me now.
And thanks for the fun wishes!
Thanks Pam. It might have been a quick post but it’s still fabulous. I totally love the Paramahansa Yogananda story. I’ve been trying to work up the courage to quit my current job and live the “lilies of the field” way but I’m stuck in scaredy cat mode. But I do believe it’s possible- I’m just scared I’ll sabotage it by my fears. Anyway blah blah blah! I love the lesson today and the quote by Eckhart Tolle is pretty potent. (When I read Anna Marie’s comment that she loved the ET quote I thought she was referring to ET the movie!!! I thought “huh? Where did Pam quote ET?” !! 😁) Thankyou for these wonderful, inspiring, thought provoking posts. They are an important (& fun!) part of my daily spiritual practice 😊 Enjoy your weekend of sorta sleepless playshopping in Seattle Pam 👍🏻💖
Hey, we’re all stuck in scaredy cat mode. That’s why we’re here to lift each other up. And while I certainly adore Eckhart Tolle, ET, the alien, is pretty cool, too.
Love this lesson today, which is just for me, and looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, here in Seattle, for your workshop. You are at the top of the list of my inspirational writers. I could dance, I’m so happy that I will have the opportunity to meet you and do your workshop.
I have a question about good and bad. Is there such a thing? And if no, what about things that we know are bad (genocide, rape, affairs, betrayal).
Thanks for your insight.
Great question, Victoria. For myself, I prefer not to judge anything as good/bad/right/wrong because I feel I don’t have enough information to make any kind of assessment. I prefer to bow to the Bigger Thing and trust that, however it might look to my human mind, there’s something holy going on. I figure any force that knows how to grow giant oaks out of tiny acorns probably is already “on it.”
Love the ET quote Pam. So true how much life and creative capital grievance sucks out leaving room for nothing else. HUGE fan here of your last 4 books and Art and Soul has completely changed the way I live. Absolutely brilliant. About 5 weeks in My first painting just sold! When will you give a play shop in Connecticut?
Thank you so much for the enlightening array of examples of abundance in our world.
