Many years ago, I had the opportunity to interview SARK for a profile in an inflight magazine. You’ve probably seen her “How to Be An Artist” poster. Stay loose. Learn to watch snails, etc. It was a perennial favorite (along with Farrah Fawcett in the red bathing suit) in dorm rooms around the nation back in the 80’s. I still have a copy framed and hanging in my guest bathroom.
She told me about her commitment to being an artist even when she had to eat catsup sandwiches, even when she had to scrounge lunch by sitting in hotel lobbies with a sign, “Take an artist to lunch.”
Back in the catsup sandwich days, when cash wasn’t yet flowing, she started using this affirmation: “Miracle, find me now.” She’d repeat it again and again.
One day, when feeling rather desperate to pay rent, she began her favorite mantra in earnest. She was walking down the street in San Francisco, where she lives, and six $100 bills floated down to her out of nowhere.
So here’s the question I pose to you.
Is your response a) “Well, duh! She asked for a miracle so, of course, she got a miracle or b) “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
If it’s A, you’ll love the following stories that recently popped into my inbox:
#1: “A friend suggested my husband and I read your book, E2. My husband read it first and told me it was basically what I’ve already been experiencing for many years. My life has been a series of playful synchronicities for the past two decades, but the experience I had this afternoon with experiment #8 was particularly poignant.
“I was taking a walk and thought about two friends from high. I have maintained contact with one through Facebook. The other one was my best friend who died nearly 15 years ago.
“After Sue’s memorial service, the song Browned-Eyed Girl by Van Morrison was playing in the car. That song always reminded me of Su, whose favorite flowers were Brown-Eyed Susans. On my walk this afternoon, I thought of Sue, and the Van Morrison song.
“I left it at that and mentally figured that I had until about noon on Sunday to hear back from Sue. When I went through the posts on Facebook this afternoon, I saw the post from Rebelle Society that was entitled, “You, my brown-eyed girl.” That was just too great a response from FP that had to be shared with you.
#2: “I just wanted to share my FP story with you. I’ve been on an airplane all day reading your book. It just happens to be 7/17/17. Today I woke up at 7:17 and my flight gate was C17 coincidence? So I’m finishing reading your first experiment on my way to Vegas and contemplate what it is I’d like to ask the FP for within 48 hours.
“Now I’m not specific as you suggest, I’m just expecting. Of course with all of my 17 occurrences today Though, I plan to put money on the number 17 while playing roulette. While this has worked a couple of times before, I have never put this much money or walked up to a table and just played 1 number only, NEVER.
“But determined I was and to my surprise 17 hit!! This happened within maybe 5 hours of asking the FP for a sign. I just wanted to thank you for your amazing book and how excited I am to read more.”
#3. “Last night I read E-cubed straight through. As I was reading the first couple of chapters where you recap E-Squared, I read “the dude abides” and the “VW Jetta” principles. I stopped for a second and asked myself what exactly would I need to see to be convinced of the validity of what you say.
“I decided that in 48 hours I would need to see the name “Mimi” in real life — not on TV or the Internet — as this was the obscure nickname my mom used to call me when I was a child,55 years ago! Only she used it and it’s obscure enough that, to me, it sure beats butterflies or something like that. I finished your book last night and, since I wasn’t ready to go to bed, I picked up an English mystery novel I’d gotten at the library. I opened it and on the opening page was a quote the author used to set the tone of his novel:
“Knock hard. Life is deaf.”–Mimi Parent
“There it is. Mimi. Within 2 hours of me deciding that Mimi would be my sign. Not only that, though. I had no idea who Mimi Parent is, so I looked her up. She’s a French Canadian artist born in Montreal. My own mother, who called me Mimi, was a French Canadian born in Montreal.”

I miracle just happened to me 2 days ago. Basically I needed to buy a flight ticket to Argentina but I didn’t have the money. Venezuela, my country, is going through a terrible politic-economical situation and it was “hard” to get the money. The only thing I wanted was the flight ticket, and at the last time I was able to buy it, yet not having the money, someone bought it for me and now I’m leaving to Argentina tomorrow.
This is a wonderful MIRACLE I was juts expecting.

The Field of potential, there is the potential to be, do or have anything you desire
Lately, I have been attempting to figure out what I am doing that is making it so hard in my own mind to achieve a specific goal I have. Surely, the difficulty is of my own making.
So I was got back into reading a few books, listening to a few audio’s, trying to get some motivation and ideas on how to remove mental blocks. So a few days ago I listened to Earnest Nightingale’s “The World’s Strangest Secret” for the first time. He said to write down Matthew 7:7-8 and the goal I have on an index card. I took the verse and put it as the background on my phone, along with my goal.
The quote reads like this:
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened”
I thought of how I am affirming daily, seeking daily… but I don’t really ask much. And I rarely knock. So I started Asking a bit instead of just affirming, but I was wondering where do I knock? What do I knock on? Maybe this is the missing piece… I can pray, affirm, but knocking is an action. How do I go about getting what I want by knocking? I will start going out in the physical world and asking for what I want. Only minutes before reading this blog post, I was contemplating it again… How should I knock? Then I read this in your post.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!! Especially the “Mimi” story, as that is my dear cousin’s name. I’ve been meaning to write and ask her if I can stay at her penthouse in NYC next April when my choir will perform at Carnegie Hall. I guess this means I should, and am sure the answer will be YES! I also love the song “Brown Eyed Girl” and my family calls me Sue!

I was so anxious to read Art and Soul that I went to my bookstore four days before it was due out. It was Saturday and the salesperson I spoke with told me it wouldn’t be there until Tuesday. I wandered around for a bit and then went over to the Self Help section where they told me I would find you when the book came in and guess what – there it was! I just laughed on my way to the checkout. I had my miracle.

I absolutely needed to read something uplifting and positive yesterday and this hit the spot! I want a miracle to find me now too. (finding this was probably the start, with more to come)
I love your books. I think I own every one. I just want your opinion on manifesting perfect health. I know that myself, and many, many other people, are looking for solutions to health problems that are hard to diagnose. Do you believe that continuing to find answers and trying various supplements, etc. is actually working against getting healthy? I’m not asking you for medical advice, of course, but just your opinion. I think its hard to constantly look for answers without also telling the universe every day that you aren’t healthy.
