Joyous Friday, my friends. I’m back from two amazing weeks in Egypt. If we’re friends on Facebook, you may have seen some of the pictures.
I’ve been mulling over the millions of things I could share. I could recount my adventures, particularly my spiritual insights which tend to slap you in the face when you’re traveling in an ancient, mysterious place that happens to be one of the planet’s great energy vortexes.
Suffice it to say, manifestation happens really fast in Egypt. Whatever you’re thinking (both good and bad) shows up near-instantly.
Here’s one small example.
I mentioned to Taz, my daughter who was traveling with me, that I’d love to get a picture of a youngster driving a donkey cart. In Siwa, a beautiful desert oasis not far from Libya, it’s quite apparent that you don’t have to be 16 to get a driver’s license.
No sooner did I mention my desire, then we were passed by not one, but literally 8 donkey carts, one after another, all being driven by adorable young kids. I noticed an enticing restaurant one morning when walking back from the coffee shop and within 20 minutes, our host Sarwat Hegazy (he has led tours in Egypt for Sylvia Browne, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer and Danyon Brinkley, to name a few) took us to that exact restaurant. And, no, I hadn’t mentioned it.
Or I could tell you about all the badass belly dancers I met in Egypt, mostly Westerners who have chosen to live in this magical country and create remarkable things. Over the next few months, I’ll be writing lots of travel stories about the people I met, the places I visited. Maybe I’ll even share a few on the blog.
But for now, I’d love to tell you a story my other host, Jane Bolinowsky, a chamber musician and flute teacher from Australia, told me that still rocks me to my core. She was hiking in Bhutan one day, feeling a bit down. She was wondering “Why bother? What can one person really do?”
Her hiking partner had hiked ahead so she sat down, all alone, at the top of Chomolhari, a beautiful peak known as Bhutan’s mountain goddess.
Even though she didn’t really feel like it at first, she pulled her flute out of her backpack and began to play. She poured her heart, her questions into her music.
That mountain solo, performed by one solitary flutist sitting alone on a deserted ridge, set off an avalanche, a monstrous avalanche that completely changed the landscape.
So don’t despair, my friends. It may seem that we’re all alone, that there’s no way to deal with the forces that appear to be rising.
But remember….one butterfly flapping its wings is all it takes.

Hi Pam,
I love the story about the donkey cart! When I was on the cruise, I wanted a lovely fruity cocktail to be delivered to me. My companion and I were sitting on the deck and I suggested an experiment.
I said, “Let’s both picture a waiter coming to us and the we will see how long it takes and whose imaginary pool boy looks like the real one.”
Well, it took 45 minutes (a little longer than my thirsty self wanted) but the pool boy came. He was fabulous, Claudio, and he quickly brought us our drinks. For the next hour, 8 different pool boys walked by us to see if we wanted drinks!!

This is all so exciting!! I’m so excited that today was your first day! So excited that your students are feeling the resonance of the universe and feel called to share it with you. So very excited about all of it.
I am literally having the most amazing experience in all of this right now. We’re at SFO and I sat next to a young girl — just out of HS — and eventually overheard the counter agents talking about the check they were writing her for $1300. Talked to her once she sat down again and apparently they didn’t have a chair for her so they pay something crazy like 4 times the one way rate plus food vouchers if there are volunteers and they have to bump you. We had a nice chat and then I left to get lunch to Rob and thought, “good things can happen when your plane gets canceled” and literally it was life giving me a public service announcement. And not five minute late 3/4 of the way though my salad they canceled our flight. Boom. Haha. It remains to be see what good things come, but I know that they will. I am relaxing in the lone chair at a little desk next to the long winding customer service line full of people experiencing varying degrees of upset as calm as if I were at a spa. Haha. It’s amazing. Life is such a gift. It’s just one that most folks — like those in line — aren’t aware of and maybe never will be. And you can’t share with them that they’re missing the show.
So many people are — Missing. The. Show. And it’s such a shame since it’s SO BEAUTIFUL.
So this has exactly the same juju as all of the rest of it. The way we live life just so far exceeds in daily magic the amazement that most people experience in a day. It’s just so staggeringly amazing. The show is like the northern lights — which is on my life list — and every single day. Most people are just blind to it.
I am actually just coming off a crazy blitz not unlike the one we did at your house except I didn’t sleep for 48 odd hours from Wednesday through to last might when I conked out like an old dead log. Ha. But I just had Monday to a Thursday to myself while Rob was in a business trip to Tampa and just so want to get fully free of anything with old stagnant juju before we go on this Japan trip — leaving on the 23rd — arriving in Japan on the 25th.

Hello, your book has made me understand many things that I asked to see or as experiments and I’m realemten excited about everything God gives me and learned to change my attitude and see things differently.
