Why you should never talk smack about your body

“The body is the best mind reader on the planet.”—Dr. Joe Dispenza

People have started to ask.

What happened on your Top Chef cruise to Bermuda?

Did your intention to lose weight work?

I’m happy to report that even though I enjoyed some of the best food on the planet, my body continued to run the programming I installed from an early age.

My programming of choice says, “I can eat whatever I want and maintain a healthy, lithe and beautiful body.”

Even though the dominant paradigm tells me that food can be dangerous and that I should watch what I eat, I prefer to run my own programming.

My thoughts (and yours, too) carry an amplitude of energy that can easily override the dominant paradigm…as long as I make that conscious decision.

We all have an invisible field of information that orchestrates our cells, our tissues, the chemicals in our bodies and other physical things that play out in the material world.

Nothing is set in stone (the field is infinite and ever-changing). It is only our repetitive habits (reading diet books and articles about losing weight in women’s magazines, for example) that show us the same results. We can change all that seems like “fact” by withdrawing our attention from it and imagining a more pleasing reality.

And speaking of pleasing realities, I’d like to announce the following opportunities:

If you’re looking for something to do this afternoon at 4 p.m. California time, I’ll be answering questions on Healing with the Masters. Here’s a link:

Also, on September 13 and 14th, I’m giving a writer’s workshop in Sydney, Australia with Reid Tracy, president of Hay House, and Leon Nacson, director of Hay House Australia.

And if you’re in Europe, stop by and say hi! at either of the following I Can Do It’s! I’ll be presenting a talk on September 28 in Rotterdam and on October 4 in London.

Come by and help me override the tiresome dominant paradigm that, I’m thinking, has way over-stayed its welcome.

    1. My take on food allergies? I’ve never focused on them and have never had them enter my sphere. I prefer to keep it that way. Many would disagree and call food allergies “fact.” I’d never try to take that away from someone. But I choose different facts.

  1. Hi Pam. Just a quick note to tell you that I read your post about maintaining your weight during your Top Chef cruise, just in the nick of time. We were about to leave on an 8-day trip that included LA- Napa Valley wine tastings, and a family reunion in Seattle–all pretty much food based! I set the intention to maintain my weight or lose a pound during the trip. I was hesitant to get on the scale when we returned, but I did so the very next morning. I couldn’t believe it–I lost exactly 1 pound! This has NEVER happened when I’ve traveled. I figured I’d gained 4 lbs. I am ecstatic!

Also, I read somewhere your comment about saying “This is the best thing that ever happened to me” regardless of the situation. During this same trip, my carryon “disappeared” from an airport shuttle. I am an avid birder, and my $2500 binoculars were in that case–also a low-level healing laser (worth $6000), Plus other things–total value in excess of $9,000! I was sick to my stomach. But I forced myself to focus on anything else I could think of and even though I didn’t believe it, I kept saying to myself “This is the best thing that ever happened to me.” As of yesterday, I found out that my losses are covered by my homeowners policy (I had no idea it would cover that as I’ve never filed a homeowners claim in my life) and that the coverage is for replacement value. The turnaround time for the claim is within 30 days!

I am so appreciative of your advice and inspiration. I still just shake my head at the results. I have never had this level of “proof” in my entire life.

    Much love,

    Joan Campbell

  2. Love this post! Eating in constant turmoil takes away the joy of eating and affects the way our body processes food. So exciting you’ll be doing the writer’s workshop! I participated last year (with Wayne Dyer) and it was wonderful! Congratulations on everything, Pam.

  3. Hi Pam. Love your works. Could you write something like “a day in the life of Pam Grout”? I like what you said about “choosing different facts.” I think (but I try not to) that our world is so misaligned and that if choosing to think, in the ways that you mention, would be so beneficial. But many people need to start that different style of thinking at a very root level. I read somewhere that Ted Hughes said he at one point, he became afraid of writing because some things would come true. There are many things I need to unlearn. Thanks for your books. 🙂 All the best.

    1. You’re so right, Nim. We learn “how to think” (what I call our mental constructs) from a very early age. Most of them are just mad creations of the ego–a device to keep us from recognizing the Truth–that we love everyone and everything is just fine. In fact, more and more people are recognizing this. It’s just that right now–the other paradigm (the one of doom and gloom) gets all the press. But that can flip on a dime. Blessings out the wazoo!!!

  4. Hi Pam, I tried to send you an email yesterday about a relatively new technique to release those public speaking heebie jeebies once & for all – in approx 3 mins, in the comfort of your own home- but it bounced back. What’s the best email address to resend? Happy days, Karen
