The top three strategies for reaching your dreams

“Defenses are but foolish guardians of mad illusions.”—Course in Miracles

I have four main intentions: peace of mind, surety of purpose, clear, unmistakable guidance and unceasing joy. I used to keep that last intention to myself. People tended to think it was foolhardy and not at all possible.

“What?” they’d mock. “How can anybody be joyful 24/7?”

What I now know is that any other goal is simply irresponsible.

Our only function here on Planet Earth is to having a rollicking good time. I mean, we are meant to laugh and have fun and enjoy ourselves at every moment. And I refuse to feel guilty for proclaiming that.

Recently, I’ve been getting emails from people wanting more tips on how to manifest, how to kick their natural, create-their-dreams skills into high gear.

So, here are the three best techniques I can offer for letting go and letting your every intention happen:

1. Focus on the end result
. Period. Do not give any air-time in your thoughts–and especially your feelings–to the way it appears now. What appears now is history. It only appears that way because you think about it. You don’t even need to worry about how you’re going to get to where you want to be. In fact, one of our biggest stumbling blocks is obsessing about the process for getting to your goal. It is irrelevant. Just keep focusing on where you want to be. Tune in to that reality just like you tune into your favorite radio station. Ignore the other channels. Ignore what appears so real now. Again, it’s only “real” until you get clear focus on where you want to be.

2. Live by Bobby McFerrin’s mantra: “Don’t worry. Be happy.”
The more joy you can have in your life, the wider the door opens for life’s largesse to flow in. The only person who can erect walls that keep it away is you. If you’re in a state of perpetual joy (again, this is your natural, God-given state), all the security forces in the U.S. Army can’t keep it away.

3. Throw this phrase overboard: “It’s hard.”
Do you know how often I hear this from people, even people who know good and well how to manifest? I even hear myself saying it sometimes. But the moment I catch myself, I turn it around immediately and remember that it’s my choice. Life can be hard, complicated and difficult to manage. Or it can be a pleasure trip down easy street. Whatever it is you want to accomplish, affirm often that it’s easy to get there. The only reason life is anything but a piece of cake is our focus on hardship.

  1. Pam, I love this. I know being happy can bring good things you aren’t even expecting or trying to create. Once, I volunteered to help with a school carnival set-up and there were a lot of conflicting personalities invovled, so I decided I was just going to be happy be of service and do what Iwas otld with a smile all day. I repeated matra’s like “all is well” and “I am filled with joy” as I moved tables, put up signs, etc. By the end of the day, I was on a such a bliss high and I won the raffle of a family fun pack and my daughter won the ipod raffle. I had forgetten about the raffles. we just entered so my duaghter would get credit for selling the tickets. Winning was nice but the feeling I got from focusing on joy all day was even better.

  2. Thanks Pam.

Lester Levenson, developer of The Release Technique, called it “happiness with no sorrow,” and proved this was possible by turning a terminal-illness diagnosis completely around in just a few weeks.

But, as your and dm’s posts suggest, he also experienced a total reversal of his financial and relationship issues as a result of methodically letting-go of ALL negative thoughts – so abundance could naturally manifest.

In perfect health, he spent the next 42 years teaching others to be “no-limits” people, and eventually owned 27 buildings in Manhattan, which he gave away.

  3. Thank you for this, my positivity has been waning a lot the past few weeks and today I had enough and cried so much. I want to start on my career path and feel that I’m not getting anywhere. I have always imagined myself as successful and taking pride in my career and for some reason I have this fear of time passing and not making progress as quickly as I’d like therefore feeling like a failure. Anyway I will read this post again and write down my desired end results. It will allow me to focus 🙂

  4. I am just starting to read the book, the first experiment did not work. I think it is because I have issues with negative thoughts all of my life. I am working on changing them and trying the exdperiment again. Any suggestions! I do believe it will work, but have to get my thoughts to line up. thanks

    1. Hi Dawn,

Forget the negative thoughts! Just focus on the good. The more you take the focus off what you don’t want and place it on what you do want, the quicker the channels of joy will open and take over. Even if there’s only one tiny thing of good, focus on that. That’ll make it grow!!

Main thing is to make it fun.

      1. Thank you so very much! I am going to try the experiement again before I do the one in chapter 2. thank you so very much for your book. I also do Essential oils that will help me to focus on the good, but for now I will focus on the good even if it is just one thing at a time. I did start a gratitude journal. I was told the journal will help also.
